The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

I picked up this conversation this morning about 10 pages ago. I actually had to force myself to read through it and the one thing that kept coming to mind is how low our discourse has become here. I then realized who was doing the vast majority of the posting and I felt at ease. It's just by chance that they've all arrived here at the same time that there was a paucity of reasonable posters. One thing I noticed is that the Lefties saw their number advantage and decided to go bold by bringing up already discredited horseshit. Please people, don't feed these trolls.

*****WIT. I've responded to that twice. Use the little wheel in your mouse to scroll up and find the two responses.

Either that or go play in traffic. I'm good with either.

That is not very nice.  Just because someone disagrees with you does not mean that you should be nasty to them.

Are you Tom Bauerle?

That raises an interesting question.  If that is Tom Bauerle, then I wonder whether he types with his invisibility cloak. Can one even type with an invisibility cloak?  Is the keyboard under the cloak?  These are important questions that must be answered.

Whatever. That petulant child ignored my previous two responses. He deserves the insult.

It’s still no reason to be so mean.  How would you like it if someone was mean to you?

What “discredited horse[manure]” has been brought up in the last ten pages?

Don't really care how people act toward me, especially if it's a person who's intending to start *****.

Those people deserve nothing but scorn.

And please, spare me the overbearing condescension.

Nice of you to make an attempt to answer his question in an intellectually honest, civil way. Others have as well.

He'll just keep asking the same question as if it has never been answered....

He's like the little boy in the back seat on a trip: Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?......

I started to type a similar response. Got called into a meeting. Came back, realized it was useless to respond to somebody whose facts are sound bites or click bait articles that don't include context. I don't have anyone on ignore. It's occasionally enlightening to see how crazy people like Kemp are, and then go back to breezing past his MSHuffKosTimesWAPOCNN rage porn. It let's me know when I need to check my mother's Twitter account to make sure she hasn't threatened the President... again. ?

There’s no condescension here.  I’m just looking out for everyone’s feelings.  Maybe you didn’t realize how hurtful your comments could be.  It’s important to warn you about something like that so that maybe you can change your behavior.

Funny, wife and i were talking about this last night. In 2009, the IMHEsaid as many as 3-4M million would die worldwide from swine flu, and it would affect so many young people. Projected to sweep through schools like wildfire. Yet i don't remember any talks of schools being closed, and my kids would have been 10 and 8 at the time. I don't remember any talk of shutting the economy down. Now we have a visus that dispropotionally affects our older citizens, those often at end of life situations , and yet the response and fear seems driven by so much more fear.

Now, we had the IMHE model being pushed early, disseminated to vast majority of people via their preferred social  media feed, then their thinking being reaffirmed by whatever TV news they watched..CNN reafirming the worst case, Fox opinion folks denying it was anything at all, People dug in on both sides.

I think the big difference was social media. Twitter was in its infancy, barely anyone was using it outside bleeding edge adopters. Facebook was still centered around teenagers and very young adults. In my rather scientific conclusion?..i think it this virus happens before 2015, we would just be going about business.

Trump: Coronavirus briefings will return, blasts ‘angry’ CBS News reporter

</snip>

Trump, who ended the daily briefings last week, said there would continue to be one or two a week as he pivots from crisis management to reopening the economy. He said his new White House press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, would be holding court at some of those sessions.

</snip>

Me: Anyone would watched the pressers knew who he would single out. They are both very disrespectful. Paula Reid's hubby is paid by China. I understand why she is so angry, nasty, and screechy. Weijia Jiang is a native of Xiamen in China. I cannot believe he calls on either one of them.

</snip>

He singled out two CBS News journalists as people who particularly irritated him — Weijia Jiang and Paula Reid — during the briefings.

I will preface this by saying i stopped watching or caring what went on those conferences a couple weeks ago.

I dont think either one of them were nasty, just tough.I especially don't care where someone was born. Watch the American Experince Great War on how dangerous that can be.

Reid asked the one stupid question to Fauci, but outside of that they wanted real answers on tough questions Trump did not want to answer..he wanted rallies, they wanted answers.
