Do you folks think fast talkers, such as Jordan, are more intelligent?  Seems to me in a verbal bout, they have a clear advantage.  I wonder however if that means they are smarter or just have superior verbal skills.  I suppose verbal skills are an element of intelligence but may be over rated on TV.

I bring it up because fast talkers can often blow through a lot of points in a discussion without allowing slower speakers a chance to counter them.  Kelly Ann Conway is another prime example of that skill set.  An average person is often unable to dispute her statements as she has spit out 2 more before they can interject.

Bob I'm not saying he's a fast talker.

It's called the truth.

The left doesn't know much about it or care much about it.

I suppose you think truth is Castro comparing this nonsense to murder.

Not a huge fan of Trump, but this whole things seems to be about a bunch of people upset and saying "that isn't the way things are done." Who cares how things have been done in the past.  He is a new President and should be able to do whatever he wants.  That includes holding up $$$ to investigate someone, even if it is a political rival. There is nothing illegal about holding up aid to investigate corruption.

I went over to twitter and either saw they had moved on to something else (vast majority) or the #resist crowd was disheartened.

?‍♂️

I'm unhappy that I wasted the day on this. If this is their best shot, I am bailing on the other days of this clown show.

I was going to avoid watching any of it personally -- but my meetings got bumped to the afternoon so I had time to kill.

Anecdotal -- but the woman of the house has been ALL about these hearings for the past several weeks. I just asked her how it's going, meaning her day not the hearings, and the text I got back was: "IT'S A ***** TRAIN WRECK!"

Still thinking she meant her day, I was alarmed and asked what happened.

Her: "Schiff ***** the bed by is what happened."

Despite our differences, she's still funny as hell.

As someone who didn't vote for Trump, but who's long viewed the Intelligence complex and MiC with suspicion, that's what this is really all about. Unelected bureaucrats dictating foreign policy to the White House rather than the other way around. This has been THE standard operating procedure for multiple presidents of administrations past, on both sides of the aisle.

Trump ran on challenging that notion -- and remember this. This was from January of 2017. Nothing to see here, just a sitting Senator threatening the incoming president on behalf of these same unelected officials:

Schumer is a perfect example on why we need term limits on these people.  No more getting rich on selling out the United States.

I didn't say you said he was a fast talker.  It was a point I was making.  Sometimes I think we all get fooled into accepting as fact statements made at a high rate.  A common ploy that I have seen used by fast talkers is that they slide in so many points so fast that most cannot mentally examine each one.  Often, not all of the statements are true.

I have not seen much of the hearings today.  I had some appointments.  As I began watching this afternoon, I did see Castro try to get that sound bite about attempted bribery/extortion being a crime though.  Hopefully it wasn't his best point or sound bite.

The point you were making is that dumb people get fooled by fast talkers.

Fine.

What's your excuse for buying in fully to Trump/Russia conspiracy which has been thoroughly disproven? You're still saying "wait and see". There's nothing left to wait for. It's over. Done. Yet you haven't bought into that yet. Why?

Are they talking too fast for you?

There were plenty of fast talkers on both sides today.

lot of talking points/ media moments.

Bottom line...still no facts or evidence of any crimes by the president.

Jordan was the Republicans de facto point man in the hearing. His time was limited to 5 minutes plus any time yielded to him. He spoke fast because he was running out of time plus he wanted to make sure it was in the record.

On another note, we should all say a little prayer for DC Tom today. He's on jury duty and knowing him, he goes in as a juror and ends up being a defendant.
