Willyville Guy
I remember when UB moved into Division I and hearing at the time that it would take about 20 years to become relevant. It really is something for the local team.

PromoTheRobot
Jaret Patterson needs just 318 yards in the next three games to become the top rusher in UB history. He might break that in one game, this Saturday, vs Akron.

PromoTheRobot
Sorry for the subscription Athletic story but here's a fascinating interview with UB's first FBS coach describing the cluster**** UB's joining the MAC was, and how poorly it was thought through. He reflects on where the program is now and a what a miracle it is. https://theathletic.com/2250937/2020/12/09/craig-cirbus-buffalo-football-program/?source=dailyemail

Most of the people that stayed ended up in our section where the tunnel is. Was a great time. Cirbus gave me a high five so hard my hand hurt for a few days.

dollars 2 donuts
If you want to know who leads the nation in scoring that’s the the UB Bulls at 51.8 points per game (sorry #3 Alabama). However, if you want to know who leads the nation in rushing...well, that’s the UB Bulls, as well. They passed Air Force yesterday and are now averaging 344 yards a game. 1

dollars 2 donuts
@PromoTheRobot PTR, in UB's first 38 Div I games they were 6-32, with Larry Felser writing that it was a mistake to move up and that they should go back down for their own good. ...in the last 38 games they are 28-10, with three straight bowl appearances and two straight bowl victories and throw in about a 10 year run of UB alum playing in the NFL. These are the salad days, my brother. Please pass the dressing. Go UB! Edited December 28, 2020 by dollars 2 donuts 1

I went to UB (76-78) and there was absolutely no school spirit at all! Leipold has been the best HC in the history of the school. He is more than a good coach. He is a builder of a sustaining program. If Leipold was a little younger he already would have been snatched by a flagging big football school and showered with a contract that Buffalo couldn't close to matching. Don't be surprised if the Illinois interest was a harbinger of future offers. A school like Nebraska would be wise to consider a coach like Leipold. Leipold is not a flashy person. He's the embodiment of substance over style.
