Why Biden Is Bleeding Non-White Voters

by David Catron

For decades, the Democrats have depended on the overwhelming support of minority voters to keep their party electorally viable. Even when they nominate candidates with spotty civil rights records, like Joe Biden, the Democrats could count on at least 90 percent of the Black vote and about 70 percent of the Latino vote.

Now, however, polls suggest that neither the President nor his party can take these votes for granted. The latest New York Times/Siena College poll, for example, found that Biden’s lead over former President Trump among non-white working class voters has plummeted to 6 points (47-41).

3.7 Million Have Fled Counties That Voted For Biden

Issues & Insights, by The Editorial Board

If you want to know what the country thinks about President Joe Biden’s agenda, look at how they vote. Not at the ballot box. But with their feet.

[snip]

I&I conducted a detailed analysis of the latest Census data, comparing migration trends and the 2020 election outcomes for all 3,144 counties. What we found is that Biden-voting counties lost a net of 3.7 million people (3,670,516 to be exact) to Trump-voting counties from 2020 through 2023. (That’s up by more than a million since we did this same analysis last year.) In other words, in just the three years after Biden won his election, more than 1% of the population had packed up and moved out of counties that voted for him.

Pealing out of cities and dark blue states as fast as they can.

By the way, (while searching for the quote and) watching the clip where he said that, it’s amazing how much he has declined in these four years.

Walking away from Trump

https://www.politico.com/news/2024/03/30/trump-gop-primary-voters-exurbs-00149822

The analysis of GOP presidential primary results from more than 1,000 counties shows warning signs for Trump, especially as Republican voters continued to vote against him in closed primaries after he clinched the nomination. And it makes clear that, while independents and crossover voters may have boosted former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley in some primaries, a chunk of true Republican voters still wished for someone else to be the party’s nominee.

“You hear a lot of moderate Republicans now who say that they’ll never vote for Trump again,” said Parker Fairbairn, county GOP chair in Emmet County, Michigan, on the northern end of the state’s Lower Peninsula, where Trump won 55 percent of the vote in the 2020 general election. In last month’s primary, he got two-thirds of the vote there.

What distinguishes Emmet County and similar geographies from the other suburban ones is their broader politics. These aren’t the kinds of suburbs on the outskirts of major cities, where wealthy, educated professionals have already fled the Republican Party.

They’re farther away from urban areas. They’re less densely populated, and they have fewer voters with college degrees. These places — which include North Carolina’s Republican-leaning exurbs, and conservative but less Trump-inclined counties several hours north of Michigan’s major cities — still vote predominantly for Republicans, both at the presidential and local levels. In 2016, when both parties held contested primaries, the Republican voters in these counties backed candidates like Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) over Trump, and in the general election they voted for Trump at lower rates than the deep-red rural areas.

Sure he can be on the team.

This is exactly what I’m talking about - don’t vote for Trump I don’t care.  If you’re voting Democrat you need to re evaluate everything.

DNC Activist Warns Democrats to Stop Registering
Young Voters, "They're Gonna Vote for Trump"

This is a little funny.  The Washington Post has an article about Democrat data scientist Aaron Strauss, who helps direct progressive spending at the firm OpenLabs, warning his peers that registering young people to vote, young people of color specifically, is helping Donald Trump.

The data shows that when Democrats help register young voters, they end up registering people who will vote for Trump. Now they are considering not even holding voter registration drives in target markets because they align with Trump. WAPO – […] A confidential memo circulated among top Democratic donors has sparked a furious debate in Democratic circles about whether to narrow the focus of voter registration efforts to avoid signing up likely Republicans.
