A couple of them could tackle him and one of the women working there could run out to the cops that were just outside. ETA: Read the article. That was in Emeryville. That town is just north across the highway from downtown Oakland. Just to the north is Richmond,CA which until a few years ago had a higher murder rate than Oakland. Based on today’s updated umbers, the total of 7.5 million votes means a turnout of about 34%, well below the norm for presidential primaries, but not the record low that some analysts projected based on early numbers. It also means that it’s going to be a while before some results are finalized, likely amplifying complaints that it takes too long to count votes in California. While voting by mail has been happening for a month, as long as ballots were postmarked by last Tuesday and they arrive at elections offices by this Tuesday, they will be counted. As expected, the votes being counted after primary day are trending more Democratic and younger. The point here: a state-wide minimum wage law is now a stupid thing. $20/hour in Silicon Valley? I'm sure the going rate is higher, so the law has zero impact. This fast food joint is in the Central Valley, which is kind of like an Appalachia in California. The going rate is much lower, and the new law will kill them.
