Don't Leave Your Keys In The Car

F56 Cooper ('14+) has a super secret hidden compartment where I keep key fob, has "NASCAR style" ignition switch. Yet, punk wouldn't have wanted to steal that tuner... He's missing out on a cool joyride though. Yet, he probably would have stalled it. I would have went left foot... Punch him in the balls will do it. Automatic, not so easy!

They should make more vehicals manual.

The only dumb part is hanging on the window and getting injured. That's why you have insurance. Call the police then call your insurance agent.

Yeah there had better be something REALLY important in that truck to risk getting run over.........if that kid flings the wheel around he probably gets a rear tire over his midsection.

Judging from his shirt and husky physique my guess is he is a brake parts salesman in a company truck and was airing out a breakfast sandwich fart........

With the new key fobs... Leave it in pocket and let him take it... Let him shut it off, won't start again.

Yup. I have not had an ignition key for my last two vehicles. I thought they were doing away with them (there is actually one tucked inside the fob, but it is "for emergencies" to get in the car if the batteries in the fob die), but Hubby just bought a new truck and it has a key. His old RAM (that he just traded in) was weird in that the fob inserted into the ignition. Why? O.o Either a key or a fob, but not a fob in the ignition.

Anyhoooo poor man. He jumped without thinking I am sure: "damn kid isn't stealing from me". I hope they arrested the little snot since his face was clearly seen in the video.

A 26-year-old man is behind bars after police say he dragged the owner of Mr. Transmission in Johnson City with a pickup truck.

According to Johnson City police, Cody Smith was arrested and charged with carjacking, aggravated assault, and driving on a revoked license.

Officers responded to Mr. Transmission on West Market Street shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday. The owner told police that a man approached the business on foot and stole a 2006 Dodge Dakota that was to be worked on from the parking lot. The owner saw Smith stealing the truck and went out into the parking lot to intervene. Smith allegedly sped away in the stolen truck while dragging the business owner through the parking lot as he tried to stop Smith. He was then thrown from the vehicle and sustained minor injuries. He has since been treated for his injuries and released from the hospital.

Police said video surveillance cameras captured the whole incident. Images of the suspect were put in social media and the suspect was identified as Cody Smith.

Around 12 p.m. Wednesday, an officers saw the stolen truck in the Johnson City Medical Center parking lot near the Ronald McDonald House. Officers searched the area and found Smith where he was taken into custody.

Smith is being held in the Washington County Detention Center pending a bond being set. Arraignment is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Washington County General Sessions Court.
