I'd much rather see a guy his age be a top pair guy in the AHL (not sure if that will be the case) as opposed to a 5-7 guy in the NHL. He needs all the ice time he can get. It's not a bad thing. BUFFALO, N.Y. (September 27, 2017) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has claimed forward Jordan Nolan off waivers from the Los Angeles Kings. Nolan (6’3”, 219 lbs., 6/23/1989) joins the Sabres after appearing in 292 NHL games for Los Angeles during the last six seasons. The Garden River, First Nations, Ontario native was a member of the Kings’ Stanley Cup-winning teams in 2012 and 2014. “We’re happy to bring Jordan into the mix,” said Sabres General Manager Jason Botterill. “His size and speed, along with his experience with such a successful organization like the Kings, make him an asset to the organization.” Since being drafted by the Kings in the seventh round (186th overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft, Nolan has totaled 42 points (20+22) and 264 penalty minutes.
