Tyrod on NFL Network

Recommended Posts

Tyrod made an appearance on NFL Network. In his reasons for coming back to Buffalo he mentioned the talent surrounding him. I thought it was interesting that he started with "Clay", then went on to mention Watkins, LeSean and the O line. It's interesting to me that in his comments he mentioned Clay first. Are they tight? Or is Clay needing some love and recognition.

He came back cause their was not much interest from other teams.

Tyrod wasn't a free agent and other teams were not allowed to show interest. He's under contract.

If he had been a free agent, he would have received a lot of interest. QBs with NFL ability are rare. Even middling QBs command a lot of money and are much sought after by teams with bad QBs.

^this is true. Reports were swirling that IF released,Cle and others were to show interest.which may be tampering in its own somehow?? But the fact remains,he wasn't a FA so no teams could make offers

Really?? If he became a FA, he would've been the best FA QB on the market. He would've had plenty of interest.

Agreed. Plus, he was still a Bill under contract. If we released him, we wouldn't have been able to match any offer, imo.

that can be the only reason. he screwed himself financially if there was actually a lot of interest out there. the Bills are where NFL careers go to die. every player in the league knows that. you only go to the Bills if they overpay you or you are on your way out of the league, or you're unlucky enough to be drafted by them. truth hurts, but look at the FA ( in and out) history of this franchise, specifically the legions of pro bowl players who left after their rookie contract expired.

Or maybe Clay's sore that Tyrod hardly targeted Clay even though he is potentially his safety blanket? For a guy who throws short passes he didn't use his TEs all that much.

Clay led the team in targets.

In any event, they got closer in the last quarter of the year and it showed in the last few games.
