Blokes did a Big Board

I genuinely didn't get around to Hooper. Before last week, I had like 3 TE's graded.

I knew A'Shawn would get you. I really think there's untapped potential there but I accept the criticism I've seen of him. I like to go with my gut when I'm a lot higher on someone than the consensus.

Goof grief we think alike...I also had 3 TEs graded in total, called my shot on John Miller, and hated the Darby pick.

Maybe i should just stop posting LOL

31 GMs dropped the ball on Darby. In hindsight he's a top ten pick. You and Blokes impress me everyday. Bocey too. Thanks for contributing to the board.

Great work, and great placement of Lawson! Also, don't fault yourself for Jack -- we fans don't have access to medicals.

One observation about mock drafts: every year, it seems to me that makers of mocks underproject the number of dbs that'll go high. This year was a case in point. Teams without decent DBs get shredded constantly, which is why more are always drafted high than expected.

Very true. It is a position similar to LT and QB in it tends to get "overvalued" in the draft as opposed to how they line up on a big board. But, I do understand why that is.

This is unscientific, but it seems to me that good teams (ones with good QBs) really focus on them because from their perspective, getting deep into the playoffs requires facing off against elite qbs, and since both teams will be strong at the qb position, the team that can slow down their passing game more often will win the close games. I suppose you could apply a similar logic to any position, but it really seems to apply to DBs. Just think of the SF/Baltimore/Seattle/NE SB contenders of recent years. Revis wasn't a draft pick, but he's the guy who put that NE defense over the top. Earl Thomas makes a huge difference in close games. If the Bills offense becomes consistently good, that Gilmore/Darby combo will do the same.

I hope Bill In NYC doesn't see this.

You guys are right, of course. The premium on DBs is an absolute reflection of the league's evolution.

GO BILLS!!!

I've just done a count up on my big board. 52 of my top 63 ranked players went in rounds 1 and 2.

Here are the top 5 players still left on my board heading into day 3 (and I only have 12 of the guys I have assessed left):

1. Andrew Billings, DT, Baylor

2. Christian Westerman, OG, Arizona State

3. Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi State

4. Connor Cook, QB, Michigan State

5. Joshua Perry, ILB, Ohio State

6. Kyle Murphy, OT, Stanford

7. Jeremy Cash, S, Duke

I'd love either Murphy or Cash at the end of the 4th.... I fear all the above will be gone given how late we pick.

EDIT: I missed Dak and Cook. The way my board is set up is by position and the Quarterback column had slipped off the side of the screen. I actually have 13 guys left and the above is my top 7.
