Blokestradamus
MY “FIRST ROUNDERS” The reason that I love the draft is that I only agree on about half of them. Makes for a great debate if it's done right.
Astrobot
Exactly. Bad news for the Bills, though, even if I'm completely right, we draft 49th.

Blokestradamus
I really wanted Josh Perry to be better than he is. Physically, he's built how I like my ILB's but he's not nearly consistent enough or assertive enough to be near the top of my wishlist. Being a little stiff comes with being that size, doesn't stop him being solid in coverage. Needs to take on blockers with more power, needs to shed better, can't get away with lapses in eye discipline with his athletic profile. Someone needs to take Brandon Spikes' nasty streak and give it to Perry. Wouldn't touch him before the 3rd and would prefer Brothers/Martinez before him. I could only hope that some Ryan influence might turn him into the bastard he should be.
YoloinOhio
@christrapasso Re-checked film on Myles Jack. Too harsh before. Some rawness vs. run but he's otherworldly athlete for LB. Top 10 talent. Top WLB in class. I am sticking with my previous comparison for Myles Jack: Ryan Shazier & souped-up Jelani Jenkins hybrid. Blokestradamus
I need to resist the desire to write about Scooby Wright. It'll end up being a 3000 word thesis on mental acumen in football. I talk about him in theory and I'm quite rational. I watch him and it makes me so angry. Making plays is the physical manifestation of mental acumen. He just lacks the physical skills to consistently do what his mind wants him to. He's not even 'unathletic', just that his athletic ability fails him enough in certain situations (which are unavoidable at the position) that I don't think he'll ever be good enough to be a starter. He's a fascinating case study for evaluation.
Astrobot
It's Scooby Wright's injury talking. When you evaluate. go back to pre-injury. If he can do that, he's worth a flier after RD2.

If he can do that, he's worth a flier after RD2. I was watching 2014 games. Nothing to do with the injury, he's just not good enough. Backup, 2-down LB that might be able to play ST. A while ago, I said he was the Nick O'Leary of linebackers. I think it's true. Productive in spite of himself but limited future as a pro. Astrobot
Scooby Doo-Doo. Anyway, he's going to go to a 4-3 as a WILL LB, so we're safe.
YoloinOhio
Myles Jack won't work out at combine @nfldraftscout What I've been told on Myles Jack: He's healthy, he's working out (see my clips from last week), just not ready for Combine testing. Myles Jack is still a top five player in this class. Being smart/safe about testing knee too early.
Astrobot
Spoiler alert: Bills will snag Jaylon Smith in Friday's mock at DraftTek. Here's how it happens. 1 1 Tennessee Laremy Tunsil LOT Ole Miss 1 2 Cleveland Jared Goff QB California 1 3 San Diego Joey Bosa OLB34 Ohio State 1 4 Dallas Jalen Ramsey CB Florida St 1 5 Jacksonville Vernon Hargreaves III CB Florida 1 6 Baltimore Laquon Treadwell WRF Ole Miss 1 7 San Francisco Ronnie Stanley LOT Notre Dame 1 8 Miami Reggie Ragland ILB Alabama 1 9 Tampa Bay Noah Spence DE43 Ea. Kentucky 1 10 NY Giants DeForest Buckner DE43 Oregon 1 11 Chicago Myles Jack ILB UCLA 1 12 New Orleans A'Shawn Robinson DT34 Alabama 1 13 Philadelphia Carson Wentz QB North Dakota St 1 14 Oakland Shaq Lawson DE43 Clemson 1 15 Los Angeles Paxton Lynch QB Memphis 1 16 Detroit Taylor Decker LOT Ohio State 1 17 Atlanta Emmanuel Ogbah DE43 Oklahoma St 1 18 Indianapolis Leonard Floyd OLB34 Georgia 1 19 Buffalo Jaylon Smith ILB Notre Dame The Bills would have the enviable position of taking Smith (which they could do in a heartbeat), or trading it (6 other teams that haven't drafted yet want ILB before Day 3, and would pay dearly for Smith). Interstingly Buckeye fans are abuzz that his replacement Dante Booker is apparently better than he is, according to our MLB Raekwon McMillan and Perry himself. So no worries but he's a fan favorite for sure because such a great person. Edited February 18, 2016 by YoloinOhio

I have listened to you when you've spoke about his character so I thought it was only fair to include it. God knows I give out enough flack to those with character concerns. I don't love him as a player but I still like him. Will be firmly behind Jack, Smith, Ragland, Brothers & Martinez in my ILB rankings but I think there's something to work with there. Could be a Preston Brown type? Or do you think 3rd is too high?
