Why didn't he throw the flag too? He's the one with the best view of it. If he had the better view and didn't throw the flag why didn't they confer and pick up the flag? This is something worth mentioning. If the back judge does not make the call and the side judge does, should a little conference occur? I dont mind waiting a bit longer for issues like this to get ironed out. Or possibly have communication via mics and headsets. Hey Joe, that looked clean , your sure ya wanna stick with that call? Well Mike , what did you think? Lets confab real quick guys! I dont care for commercial breaks but they are coming anyways. But not as bad as Vinny Testaverde's called TD - when his HELMET crossed over the goal line on a keeper play. The ball never made it past the one yard line. The timeout fiasco was abominable. Pete Carroll calls a 2nd timeout during the same stoppage, which is an automatic 15-yard penalty. Instead of assessing the penalty, the officials stop the game, tell him he cannot do that, and then place the ball back into play, at which time Seattle snaps the ball with 12 men on the field. Then, instead of assessing a penalty for too many men, they say that they erred in not allowing Seattle to substitute since they called a timeout (one that should've been a 15-yard penalty), and therefore there is no penalty for too many men. And then a penalty for a "blind side block" on Ricardo Lockette, when Lockette himself tried to push the guy that laid him out (Heath). They were face to face, and Heath made the better play. You cant tell for sure his but hit the ground (cloth doesn't count) Its when you have certain but compression is happening at which point the ball is breaking the plane.
