In order to justify that Carpenter needs to be lights out. There's nothing they can do now to improve the position but I seriously doubt Carpenter is on the roster next season. Excellent points, and this is where the discussion needs to begin and end. There is no in-season solution for Carpenter's accuracy issues; it is what it is and I'm certain the Bills will be looking to upgrade in the offseason. Maybe he has a job and life to live and hasn't compiled a list of available free agent kickers. Isn't that Doug's job? Isn't it also Doug's job to decide to can a player? Look at the date of the post. Back then, it would have been easier to do so. Like who? Fact is there really hasn't been anyone out there who would be an upgrade over Carpenter who has obviously struggled but has also had success kicking in the Northeast late in the season. My point is suggesting they should cut a starter without suggesting or even looking at alternatives is kind of silly.
