Question is were they fired for poor job they did or did they wait until after draft to keep lip on information they knew? By the time the new GM was hired the scouts had already been working for months, and the scouts the GM wanted still had jobs with other teams. Nothing that happened at the draft caused them to be fired. You keep the old scouts because there is not enough time for new scouts to do anything.
