HOUSE
Mike Rodak, ESPN Buffalo Bills reporter The Buffalo Bills' final act in the 2015 free-agent signing period could come soon. Will it be signing safety Dawan Landry, who visited the team Tuesday? Or could linebacker Brandon Spikes agree to return on a cheap deal? Could the Bills manage to squeeze both moves under their salary cap? Here are some important considerations as we await answers to those questions: http://espn.go.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/18268/considering-the-bills-options-with-dawan-landry-brandon-spikes Edited April 10, 2015 by HOUSE

ChevyVanMiller
The signing of Dean yesterday means that the Bills can sign one of them now and not lose the 6th Rd pick. Surprisingly well-researched and insightful piece by Rodak. Go figure.

boyst
Rodhack sucks. The signing of Dean yesterday means that the Bills can sign one of them now and not lose the 6th Rd pick.Surprisingly well-researched and insightful piece by Rodak. Go figure. Great article, except Rodhack has zero idea what he is talking about. We can resign Spikes without it counting against our comp pick. And besides, the comp pick doesn't matter. Who is going to make a bigger impact on this team, a 6th round pick or Landry?
KDIGGZ
if we get them both then we will have the best D in the NFL. then OL and big TE in the draft and our roster is complete

Maddog69
Whats the benefit of waiting until May 12? Rodak talks about waiting but doesn't explain why they should.
nichebiche
Rodhack sucks. Great article, except Rodhack has zero idea what he is talking about. We can resign Spikes without it counting against our comp pick. And besides, the comp pick doesn't matter. Who is going to make a bigger impact on this team, a 6th round pick or Landry? Except that he never said anything about losing a comp pick for spikes, just regarding Landry. About the comp pick, the good teams that always to replace their lost free agents (like the ravens and pats) do it in part with those comp picks. By either finding the next Marcia Brady or giving them more ammo to move around in the draft - either trading to get who they want or stockpiling picks into the future - it is a part of their plan. While the comp picks can't be traded, it allows them to trade their others while still grabbing a diamond in the rough like Seantrel. The point is, if you can manage to sign Landry AND be able to keep the extra 6th, doesn't that make the most sense? There is no competition for Landry right now. If their hand is forced by another team swooping in, sure, get the guy signed. But, many other teams are also trying to avoid losing a comp pick, thus limiting the market for any remaining free agents until after the draft. BuffaloHokie13
Whats the benefit of waiting until May 12? Rodak talks about waiting but doesn't explain why they should. May 12 is the cut off for when signings impact your comp picks. We may still wait until then in hopes that we get 2 picks since we're at -2 now. Maybe a 5th and 6th for spiller and searcy? DJasper Probincrux III
Whats the benefit of waiting until May 12? Rodak talks about waiting but doesn't explain why they should. He talks around it. That's the day they stop keeping score of FAs in/out. Anyone you bring in after that date doesn't impact compensation picks.

The Patriots are awful at drafting. The Ravens are much better then Pats but do not do anything other teams don't.
