Hope Bosa is ready for Penn St. Heard like 4 different versions of what his injury is (groin, hip strain, abdominal strain, Lower leg (ryan day said this but doubt it). But he was limping badly  in the tunnel to the locker room after the game.

It sure looked like a groin to me. I think he will be okay (at least I hope).

I hope we get him, from the games I've watched, he is the best rusher. There are some other excellent options at DT but we REALLY NEED an outside pass rusher.I

The guys on Bucknuts Morning 5 today said it’s either a groin tear or maybe a hernia. He’s not out for the season, but he’ll be out for a while because if an injury like this does not heal properly there is a high likelihood that it becomes a long term issue. Maybe a month or so. Not a good situation for him and I expect the Bucks to be smart about getting him back to 100%.

I could see him out until after the Bye week. That would be returning at home vs Nebraska Nov 3. Sparty,Maryland, TTUN for the home stretch and then hopefully playoffs.

That sounds about right. We’ll see what Urban says about it today but at this point I think there’s no chance he’ll play at PSU.

Agree. It’s a super huge game but imo if they can’t win it without him they don’t deserve to win. They have studs up and down the DL. Just get it done. Lots of work to do on that defense and DL is not the place that needs it.

Brutal. Their LB coach needs to go.

Yeah, I joked upthread that Davis would be Public Enemy #1 now that Smith is gone, but he deserves it at this point. OSU recruits the same level of talent at LB as it does every other position group, so the reason LBs are so far behind the rest has got to be poor coaching.  Davis's NFL experience isn't translating to the college game for whatever reason. Without significant improvement, he will not be the position coach in 2019.

I'm actually feeling really good about the secondary. Okudah and Sheffield at corners, Fuller and Wade at safety. That works for me - assuming Wade can make the transition to safety.  He's a beast that should be on the field, and I can see him developing into a ball-hawking safety in the mold of Malik Hooker.

Penn State is the biggest conference rival for many years now, often gives tOSU all they can handle

Urban’s toughest B10 opponent has been Sparty followed by PSU (after Franklin got there). It is just extremely difficult to play in happy valley at night and this is a super young Buckeye  team.

I recall the PSU games more than Sparty. Michigan hammered PSU with ease during my years attending games but couldn’t offer the Buckeyes a challenge

I road-tripped to PSU as a freshman in 1994 to watch Ki-Jana Carter run up the score on a good OSU team right after PSU joined the conference. That sucked. After that “fluke,” PSU wasn't really on my radar until Pryor’s Buckeyes ran into a buzzsaw during the first nighttime whiteout I can remember. Since then those games have been nearly impossible to win on the road.

I currently think of MSU as a bigger rival mostly because of Dantonio’s connection to OSU as defensive coordinator during the national championship run in 02. He runs that program similarly to the way Tressel ran the OSU program, which will always cut deep for OSU fans.  Losses in the conference championship in 13 and a terrible home loss in 15 (on my 40th birthday) sealed the OSU-MSU game as a bitter rivalry for me.

fair enough, I understand how Sparty has provided a challenge, I have no clue why PSU ever gets within 21 points of a good tOSU squad

Aside from the RichRod era, Michigan is something like 12-1 on PSU with 9 wins in a row in there

The media trumpets the Michigan rivalry for old times sake, just like it does the Leafs/Canadiens although they haven’t met in the playoffs since 1978

And then there was ‘98

I thought the same thing about OSU. It’s a big game so they will win, then they will go to like Purdue or something and lose.

Penn State is nothing but always puts bats in the belfry of Ohio State

Please win Buckeyes and kill of the non-stop whining when Playoff time rolls around, please???

If ND beats Stanford this weekend, they are basically in the playoff and makes it even harder for anyone to get in with one loss. The rest of their schedule is a breeze.

at this point I just can’t see OSU going undefeated. Their schedule is tough.

ND will fumble bumble stumble a shoulda-won away, it's hard to go undefeated even with a great team... get your one loss over with ASAP in the season

would be interesting to see if they give ND the edge over a one-loss SEC team like Bama or Georgia

I used to think ND would get in with ease by the committee, but I think the Irish appeal to a national base is not 1/3 of what it was 20 years ago...  could again be very wrong

Trojans at home won't be a pushover.

Last time they got in (it was still the BCS) they got boat raced by Bama. What sucks is that was the year OSU went undefeated in urban’s 1st year but had a self-imposed bowl ban (thanks Gene) from the tressel situation. If they didn’t have the bowl ban they would have gotten in over Bama, who had one loss. And I guarantee OSU would have beaten that ND team.

If there are 4 undefeated power 5 conference champs, ND won’t get it imo regardless of their record. Otherwise they probably will unless Bama is the team with the loss.

years ago it would have been scandalous to think ND wouldn't get a free pass to the playoff if reasonably eligible,  but times may have changed.... have to wait and see.... nah, Irish are in the playoff if they run the table....
