I'm sure there is more war and death now than there has ever been.

You must be forgetting about the Crusades, WWII, the Mongols, The plague, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, the 1918 flu, Holomodor, The holocaust, The Taiping Rebellion, ...I could go on and on.

Humans are not getting worse nor are people dying at a faster clip. Death, disease, war and evil have always and will always be around. The level of these things fluctuate over time and vary by location. Really, it's determined by affluence.

for those of you who say attempted murder for getting in a fight I don't think you would be saying that if it was your son or loved one that is in critical condition. for those of you who like getting into fights and think it's no big deal should show a little restraint because it could be you in this situation very easily

no. The battle of Gettysburg had a higher loss of life than we lost in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam combined. The number of soldiers that have even spent one day in Afganistan or Iraq pale in comparison to the numbers that lined up and hacked each other to pieces with dull blades and sticks, for ONE battle in the crusades.

Current media allows for a information to spread at an astonishing rate.

28 NFL players arrested since the Super Bowl. Wonder if the Commish and company are going to tackle this issue in the open?

if teams keep addressing the issues, the commish dont need to do skit.

the crusades, the mongals, the romans, the inquisition, nazis......

there will always be evil, but it by far not the most violent period in human history.

For us Americans..

Not the most violent heck no. Not the most difficult either by any means. actually life is easy for the majority. comparatively to recent history even.

It was not that long ago that children were forced to work in fabric mills and such right here in the usa. As many hours as the boss wished and as brutal as the work might be . Same as the parents of course, but small children : ( . And that was staus quo in the cities during the Industrial revolution. Farming was always brutal work . Now we see the same in other emeging countries

But what is prevalent in my mind these days in the USA is the severe decline in morals , and integrity of the individual along with a forgotten value of ethics amongst those that "Have"

Folks it wasn't that long ago at all .

Raise your Kids right and do the best you can each day

The offseason is too damn long. Period.

These kids should be focusing, and busting drills during these long hot days... maybe if they were, they would lack the energy for late-night boxing outside of bars... Which reminds me, -where the hell is DaRick?... Anybody seen DaRick?

I don't know why it's the NFL's job to change this. There is no way to prevent some guys from behaving as they did before they were drafted. All the League/teams can do is fire this guys.

Huh?

Right.

Battle of Gettysburg: Totals for Both Sides: 7,863 killed; 27,224 Wounded; 11,199 Missing; TOTAL: 46,286

Battle of Iwo Jima American Casualties: 4,926 killed; 1,401 died of wounds, 494 MIA (likely obliterated); 19,217 MIA; TOTAL: 26,038

Battle of Okinawa American Casualties: Army and Marines: 7,606 killed, 32,056 wounded; US Navy: 4907 dead; 4874 wounded.

A total of 240,734 Japanese and Americans were killed in that single battle.

The entire US Civil War had 140,414 battle deaths; WWII alone had 291,557 (more than twice that suffered in the Civil War); Korea had 33,739; VietNam had 47,424 battle deaths and about 20,000 other deaths in the theatre. So far in the "war formerly known as the war on terror" we've lost 5,078.
