Buffalo A Great City - For Real !!

BUFFALO - For Real

This is a great video about Buffalo & at one point you can see a guy wearing a Bills hat & it would be cool to see a brand new stadium in one of the shots of the lake.

Check it out & see just how much there is to do in Buffalo & learn a bit about the cities history. You would think this should make the city want to keep the Bills up to date with a stadium to keep them viable in the NFL .

Because if you think of it there are only 32 cities that have the NFL in them & you would think that they would do almost any thing to keep our team home where it has always been ..

Buffalo --- Go Bills !!!

This is why family guys like Fitz and Mario and Barnett and Kelsay are here . Its a nice safe place outside the workplace to raise their families etc. It's a place you can actually have a normal life while you make your millions. Of course the real difference making players in the NFL, the rock stars from coaches to players who win Super Bowls will have nothing to do with a backwater, family place like Buffalo. So the Bills are basically doomed to mediocrity due to the nature of the place they play. Seems like a fair trade.

Very nice. The message goes well beyond the Bills of course. It is a great city. Although ruined by special interests and the dysfunctional govt of NY State. It could be great again, but not without a lot of scarifice, change and hard work. It will always be home. This makes "Talkin Proud" look pretty dumb by comparison.

What cities do the New Jersey Jets and New Jersey Giants play in?

Ummmm,,,,,very gay Chamber of Commerce style video with what sounds like one of Ralph Wilson's classmates narrating. What - Hal Holbrook or Morgan Freeman not available?

They should show some of the beat down properties in the fruit belt, east side, or UB district, and then a resident in Amherst (where most businesses and business owners have actually moved) opening the mail and revealing their property tax bill.

Those are all very nice images in the video, but for the sake of fairness, they could run the Buffalo episode of COPS on a split screen next to it.

Before I get slammed for being negative, how many of you elected to stay in the Buffalo area? Buffalo was once a great place, but the "set in their ways" mentality of the locals have kept them in a time warp while the rest of the world marches into the future. Maybe someday I'll go to visit, if for no other reason than to listen to some colored musicians.

Elected to stay? I left for a decade and then moved back. Being part of the solution is a lot more productive than sitting somewhere far away and criticizing.

You act like other cities don't have bad neighborhoods. WTF is up with that? Vegas is one of the most hyped places in the world, I lived there for 2 years. Ever heard of the Letter Streets there? Nobody outside of Vegas has. I challenge you to go to D Street anytime.

Like NYC doesn't have bad neighborhoods. Last time I was there I was walking a few blocks away from Times Square and ran into a naked homeless guy in a store entrance that was masterbating to women walking by. The few girls I saw walked up to a NYC cop and he refused to go near the naked filthy guy playing with his dick in public.

I lived in Sullivan county NY for 2 years and when I was there I saw filthy run down homes that Hicidic Jews migrate to for the summer only to trash them and never go back again. So they just sit there for years until someone burns them down for insurance money. Oh and because all the Hicidics come from NYC, the property taxes are just as rediculous as WNYs.

You act like other NFL cities like NYC, SF, Miami, Wash, Oak, Dallas, Houston, Arz don't have bad areas.

Are you oblivious to crime in the US? As many here know, I'm a Corrections Officer and I can tell you that life is not all whipped cream and cherries. Buffalo is no different than any other "real" city. Do you know about the gangs in the southern states? Or the Mexican border towns that have beheadings every few months because of drug muling across the borders.

Taxes suck, sure. But you can also find a 2,000 square ft home for under 100k if you really want. Hell, when I lived in Vegas I went house hunting. 300k+ for a 2,000 square ft home with a driveway for a front lawn and a 50x10 section of gravel for the backyard. 300k in Buffalo can pretty much buy you a 2,500-3,000 square ft home in Amherst, Williamsville, Clarance, Lancaster, OP... And with acres of land, not 100 ft of it.

C'mon man, lets get real, you don't like Buffalo. We get it. You moved away, fine. But not every body hates it here. Not everybody gives up on a job here and moves out first chance they get. Not everybody likes to do things like you can do in Buffalo. Can you hang out in NYC, Vegas, SF, San Jose, SD and have an outside BBQ with a bunch of people in your 10x50 gravel yard? How bout your lobby of your apartment building like in NYC. Can you even have an outside fire put in California with all the flash fires that happen there?

These aren't the only things to do, but how bout other things that you can't do in other places. Or other things that you can't do here. In the end, it's a family place that you can raise your kids without having to worry about them getting mugged in a subway, or sneaking into casinos, or being on the streets with hard core gamgs like Latin Kings, Bloods, Cripps, MS13.

So you didn't like it here. That's fine. There's no reason to think any other cities are better in any way. Maybe you wanted to work as a marine biologist, and that would be tough here. I get it. But don't say there aren't any jobs. There aren't any if you don't look or are just plain lazy. Ever heard of Ingram Micro, Geico, Wegmans? They are all Fortune 500 companies. There's tons of customer service jobs if that's your thing too. I've worked in bars, restaurants, collection agencies, insurance companies, IT distributing companies, and now for the State. Can't say I ever had a hard time finding a job. Sure, I never made over 100k a year but you could have if you wanted to at any one of the places I did (except the restaurants). Have a friend that never went to college that makes over $120k a year at Ingram Micro as a marketing manager. Same path I would have been in if I had stayed there. Instead I opted to fight crime for a living. Yeah, I'm a superhero. But at the same time that I don't make over 100k, I don't need to because my 1,800square ft home was only 79k.

You think LA will be the safest place on earth for an NFL team? How bout Toronto? C'mon man. Your just as rediculous talking bad about Buffalo as thinking that LA is all palm trees and chicks in bikinis.

Hope you all enjoyed. As you can tell, I love Buffalo. Moved away to have the big city experience and moved back. I love it here and I'm never leaving. If you don't, that's fine with me. It gets another @$$hole out of town that constantly complains about rediculous things that happen everywhere else. Just say it, you wanted to live somewhere warmer that doesn't get snow and that's fine. But not all of us are wimps for getting out because of a few snowflakes.

Have a good day sir.

Buffalo has a lot great advantages over other big cities. Really great place in many ways. The ease of getting around is amazing compared to (for example) Atlanta. I always tell anyone that in WNY, there's more sights to see and more recreational destinations within a 2 hour drive of Buffalo.

Far more to do than there is here in Atlanta.

If you're lucky enough to have a secure job with decent pay in WNY, there are few better places to live. The problem is that nobody's figured out a way to make it an attractive locale for larger Fortune 500 level companies to operate.

Most of my previous comments were a mocking response to a really cheesey video with all the usual cliche footage of Lake Erie, Frank Lloyd Wright, Albright Knox, etc etc. Thought it was odd they didn't show any major sports teams or chicken wings. Perhaps the narrator succumbed to cardiac arrest before they could finish production.

Ok.aybe I jumped on you a little hard. I don't think it was geared towards that crowd but you are right. There should have been some more on the Bills, Sabres, and food options.

Maybe they should just put a Bills logo and a Sanres Logo on the ground and poured Hot cooking oil all over them and then sprinkled hot sauce on top.

What about Green Bay and Pittsburgh? The Bills are doomed to mediocrity (and worse) because of their owner and not because of the city.

Exactly

According to Wiki, Buffalo has 261k people

GB has 104k

Pittsburgh has 300k

Really no different. And I'd like to add that there's almost no way that in surrounding areas that GB could have as many people as Buffalo. Buffalo has Amherst and Williamsville type areas that accumulate to over 1.2m and then there's Niagara Falls within a 20-30 min drive. Rochester within an hour. Toronto within 90 mins. That really isn't bad.

Great. I hear the Atlanta Falcons are doing great. You should be proud of your hometown team.

Toronto is within 2 hours and that's a 5.2m population city. And as we said, there's Niagara Falls, Finger Lakes, Great Lakes, Rochester all within 2hrs. If Atlanta has all that as well, great for you. You love Atlanta. You live there. You apparently call it home. That's great. No need for you to talk bad about Buffalo then. Your proud of your NEW hometown.

And yes, we do love Buffalo. That's why we're here.
