Stericycle

Really Mitt? Seriously, you dodgy pimp?

I'll even post a far right wing blog on the subject for equal time. It's sad that they're just finding excuses for his 1999 involvement in the Stericycle investment though:

http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/04/left-wing-blogs-falsely-attack-romney-on-abortion-stericycle/

And yes, this Stericycle (the one pro-life advocates HATE):

http://www.stopstericycle.com/

Please don't turn this into a name-calling **** fit. It's obvious that I dislike Romney (this is further evidence that he is a self-absorded pos **** with no backbone, and no personal principle foundation - I can't support someone like that). But that doesn't make the information less germane. It is what it is. Obama hung out with Jeremiah Wright and Mitt's company invested in Stericycle. Let's get that out of the way now and discuss politics.

Just discuss your thoughts on the political implications if you have em.

He evolved. Or displayed his agility. How about he punched above his weight class?

I think the OP's example just displays how dynamic Romney is on the issues rather than stuck in his ways like so many crusty old politicians.

So I guess it comes down to a competent pos vs. an incompetent pos?

You liberals are just wildly inconsiderate towards subject and predicate sentence constructions.

Sadly, I do believe that you have a point.

Well, I guess you might want to consider holding your nose and voting for competence.

And it still makes him a better choice than Obama. Kinda sad isn't it? This is what were left with. A marxist hack with no accomplishments in life bent on imposing his tired ideaology(proven throughout history not to work but he still insists on it)on us or a admittedly mediocre Mitt.

Juror, I couldn't open the salon link but if the statements are anywhere near correct in the other link there's nothing untoward here at all. Another instance where Romney left Bain before they invested in it. Stericycle didn't even get involved in aborted fetuses until several years later. This is a non-issue.

So are aborted fetuses supposed to be thrown out the back alleyway to rot in the hot sun and/or eaten by rats, cats, and stray dogs?

Maybe a better choice would be to send it home with it's mommy in a plastic baggie.

You know - like hiking in the woods: "If you hike it in - hike out with it too. That's just good manners."

Do you think I can get my right humeral head back from HSS?

They sawed it off and plucked it from my body.

Might look nice on the mantle.

Wasn't Bain's whole thing about investing in poorly run companies and turning them around?

Documentation shows that the investment was made during Romney's tenure:

If you ran a business, would you use that business in order to facilitate an activity that you were principally, morally, ethically, philosophically, and personally against?

If you would, then you, in some measure, redeem Romney.

I just wouldn't.

Not gettin' enough at home, are ya?

:P

Well, since you put it that way, there is never REALLY enough...

How much of Stericycle's portfolio consisted of fetuses?

I'm thinking Romney is pro-life like Obama was anti-gay marriage, which is as long as its in his best interest politically.

My whole issue is about the judgment of someone who would invest is something of that nature that he claimed to be so philosophically antithetical towards.

He is facilitating a process that he claims to be against.

It just seems to clash in so many respects.

Yeah, and I won't address that...but the articles you linked seemed to be pretty pointed in their criticism of Stericycle for their low safety standards and treatment of their workers, as well. Which kind-of led me to think, "Well yeah, that's kind-of the point - take bad companies and make them 'not bad anymore'."

I understand your analogy but the difference is that Romney was financially benefitting off of something that he claimed to be morally against.

It seems to vindicate that segment who claim that he will say and do anything for money/esteem/status/his immediate benefit - despite what he believes to be inherently true.

So you really don't plan to support Obama? Really? Are you going to support Gary Johnson?

I wish that not voting, voting third party, or "writing in" had a meaningful impact on the major candidates.

The more research I do, the more disappointed I become. These candidates, for one reason or the other, are as unimpressive as any in a long time. I don't know how so many here can have their minds made up.

Are you sold one way or the other?

I like issues but I don't like these candidates. That's a tough political place to be.

I guess the more pertinent article with respect to the details is the 'MotherJones' article.

If you don't mind me asking, why won't you address the issue of his financial investment vis-a-vis his moral objections.

I'm not being pushy and if you don't want to discuss, I understand.
