Secretary of Commerce DUI

Well, he is in charge of helping BO create jobs.

Looks like he just created three new ones in one night - repair jobs on three autos.

Cheers for the BO administration for this rousing kickoff to the Summer of Recovery III. Winning The Future!

Don't forget the claims adjusters, auto supply shops, auto parts manufacturers, and lawyers. And that's just private sector which is already doing just fine. This will also help to stimulate the woefully understaffed local government jobs with the required police and alcohol counselors that he will have to attend

The article said "[a]uthorities said drugs or alcohol do not appear to have played a role in the crash."

http://news.yahoo.com/police-probe-crashes-linked-commerce-sec-080125605.html

First paragraph:

"two Los Angeles-area traffic crashes that left him injured and unconscious."

Third paragraph:

"He has sustained no injuries and the investigation is ongoing."

So, he is both "injured and unconscious" as well as being "uninjured"?

Geez, even on this nutty board, we can figure out a cover-up.

There may be a cover-up. But that 2nd quote from the 2nd article is from the Commerce Department and might have meant to say he sustained no serious injuries.

I know Karl Rove tweeted he was drunk and this board is anti-Obama but when the report says not alcohol or drugs and then it comes out the man had multiple seizures...at some point it's unbecoming of the American people and Karl Rove.

Drugs and alcohol will do that to a guy...

You "know" no such thing.

If you’re a staffer for the Karl Rove-run American Crossroads SuprPAC, however, the real blessing was a chance to attack Bryson. The group sent a tweet Monday morning cracking wise about alcohol being involved (Bryson actually suffered a seizure)

The tweet, captured by Josh Dorner, an intrepid staffer at ThinkProgress, read “How does @CommerceSec have 3 car crashes in 5 minutes and alcohol NOT be involved? #Skills.”

Even “funnier” than that tweet, though, was American Crossroads’ “apology,” via TPM:

American Crossroads spokesperson Jonathan Collegio apologized for the suggestion that Bryson was driving drunk. A Commerce spokesperson said Monday Bryson suffered a seizure before he crashed his vechicle into two others Saturday.

“The hashtag (about his driving #skills) attempted levity, but it communicated poorly. We took it down,” Collegio said. “I regret the tweet.”

Yes, its still despicable, but the left's blogsphere automatic Rove - bad response is bad also.

Were there any utility poles involved? We know they are the number one cause of death in this country? Right Ed?

Ed's been gone... He is a horrible person... Anyway, probably on a ledge... The Devils were losing! Or he is driving his Fit into the swamps of Jersey at this moment...

Commerce Secretary John Bryson, accused of hit-and-run, takes medical leave

Commerce Secretary John Bryson said Monday night that he is taking an indefinite leave of absence to deal with health problems, after officials said the Cabinet member had a seizure while driving Saturday and was involved in three traffic collisions.

Bryson’s leave was announced after 10 p.m. Monday. It followed a day of confusion about his medical condition and about the crashes that led to Bryson being cited for felony hit-and-run in California. In a memo released to reporters, Bryson said his leave would last “during the period of my illness.”

{snip}

Bryson, 68, is the newest permanent member of Obama’s 21-person Cabinet, taking his post in October. His leave ended a tumultuous day in which White House officials conceded that they had not learned of Bryson’s accidents until a full day after they occurred. They acknowledged that, even two days afterward, they did not fully understand what had happened.
