Reggie Corner

Do you guys realize that Reggie Corner has been the most consistent corner for this inconsistent organization, the Buffalo Bills since he was drafted in 2008 (the same year McKlevin was drafted as a 1st rounder). For one he has never missed a game because of injury and we all know every other corner-back has missed significant time because of injury so right there he is one of the most reliable and earned every bit of his pay check. His second year (09-10)when he and Drayton Florence started most games because both McGee and McKlevin were you guessed it INJURIED. The bills had the SECOND highest rated pass defense (2nd highest INT's and top 5 in PD)that season and Corner had one of the best seasons a Bills corner has had since 2008. He was ranked 1 in the AFC East in a stat ESPN did called hits and misses which basically said he was the best TACKLING corner in the AFC EAST (for 52 solo tackles he only missed 4) (search "Hits and misses: Which CBs cant tackle?" in espn's search bar) His teammates that year were ranked too MCGEE 69TH AND FLORANCE 63RD.... LOL That year also in a stat called burn percentage that ESPN did where "Stats Inc. records what it calls "burns," the number of times a defender allows a reception to the man he's covering. Stats Inc. then divides that by the number of times the defender is targeted to compute a "burn percentage."........

"The Buffalo Bills had two among the top 11, another reason why they finished second in pass defense. Drayton Florence was fourth at 43.2 percent, and Reggie Corner was 11th at 47.3 percent." -ESPN BLOG BY TIM GRAHAM

So coming off that amazing year as a Buffalo Bills secondary in walks the infamous 3-4 defense.. smh Where like every one on the Buffalo Bills defense was going to take some getting used to.. That year Corner had an awesome preseason but the regular season was played sparingly by the new coaching staff which obviously took some confidence away from him. The Bills went on to have one of the worst defenses in the league rushing and passing defense. lol And through performance incentives Reggie Corner's contract went up to 1.2 million for his 4th year with the Bills (11-12) season. PERFORMANCE INCENTIVES meaning money he earned through his performance!!! He was supposed to only make like $425,000 this year. And what does our beloved franchise do to him CUT him before this season starts only to pick him back up for a cheaper price 10 days later! Now you tell me what NFL Star in the NFL wants to play here including FRED JACKSON. This man earned his money the old fashion way WITH PERFORMANCE and this often disloyal/cheap franchise does that to him.. SMH And keep JUSTIN RODGERS are you kidding me!! So the second game of the season the 1st New England Drive Wes Welker has 67 yards and a touchdown on AARON WILLIAMS and goes on to have a 130 or so yard half on him before he gets injured and Reggie Corner comes in and plays a solid game cold with probably little to no confidence and the Bills go on to win the game. Now we move to the Eagles game when they are on there way to a touchdown and Corner gets an interception on an outstanding athletic play on a tipped ball and had two big time pass deflections the first half one right before half when they where in the red-zone. Now everybody clearly got on his case during that last drive when he was doing everything he could to contain and not allow a big play. The defense was clearly getting absolutely no pressure on Michael Vick and he was standing back there throwing 10-15 yard cross the middle pass in a culture in the NFL where clearly the DB's are at a disadvantage. Not to mention Corner was clearly tired (the most minutes he played all year) but scared to tell the coaches because of the lack of confidence he probably feels with there loyalty toward him. And since that game two things have happened he is again being shunned by our organization but not allowing him to even dress most of the games.. smh and the BILL are 1-6.

So out of all of this I really want you to think about it. Reggie Corner rarely is the one giving up the big plays *cough *cough ( McKlevin). He is never injured He is believe it or not the best tackling corner we have, and he plays with all of his heart every time he is out there. People criticize his size but he is the exact same size as Terrence McGee and 1 inch shorter. The only thing that Reggie Corner lacks is the support and confidence from his coaches!! And hopefully he gets a better opportunity to show his talents elsewhere next year under a different program.

Cue the "Mrs. Corner" jokes.

LOL I know right.. lol I'm just saying that 09-10 he played great then they switched to a 3-4 defense under Chan and never gave him a fair shot. I think he will be a lot better once he leaves this system, he always shows flashes. Plus with a name like that he has to be a good corner back.. LOL

I like him too, but you sound like you might be his agent.

I don't ever remember him doing anything significant. Is he still on this team?

He made a diving pass break-up against the Broncos in Denver in the end zone on the final play of the game in '08 to seal a win for the Bills. I was at the game. I know one guy who's not on the team and that's "beast mode."

Jabarey Greer hands down. I loved that guy! I think drayton florence has been great. Ya he gets beat here and there but 95% of CB do. I also am really, i mean really liking our draft picks this year. They are showing great signs of just being awesome. They still have a lot to learn and i think with all the IR going around they are getting it. I have confidence that we will have some nice CBs next year (then we cut the crappy ones, draft or free agent to have depth which we dont have)

Also i know this has nothing to do with corner but byrd is amazing! He is by far the best open field tackler and i believe he is already out playing himself when he was a rookie, yes he doesnt have 50000 int's but he is a huge play maker.

Right that pass break was what knocked Denver out of the playoffs that year i think which got Mike Shanahan fired and Jay Cutler eventually traded... And you didnt hear about that significant role he played in the New England game after he took over for an injuried Williams, or that impressive 1st half against the Eagles.

He is a very good nickel corner, I don't think he would be good as a Number 1 or facing against a number 1, he is not phsyical enough. He is great covering the slot and roaming. He is also very good off the edge on rushing situations. I would like to see him get more playing time, he has been playing well
