Brothers who have played in the NFL

Recommended Posts

Peyton and Eli are probably the best brothers to ever play in the NFL, IMO. Ronde and Tiki were good players also. It seems though that usually when one brother is great the other usually sucks. http://www.profootballhof.com/assets/histo...ril_22_2009.pdf

For example these guys seem to have a large disparity;

Mark Bavaro's brother David . He was actually on the Bills roster during one season. (1991)

Aaron Schobel's brother Matt Schobel is a TE who's not with any team right now. Not a brother but a cousin of his Bo Schobel isn't anything close to what Aaron is.

Jeff Bostic and Joe Bostic

Terry Bradshaw and Craig Bradshaw

Ruben Brown's brother Cornell

Tony Eason and Bo Eason

Pete Gogolak and Charlie Gogolak

Bob Golic and Mike Golic

Matt Hasselbeck and Tim Hasselbeck

Alex, Lou and Ted Karras

Larry Little and David Little

Bruce Matthews and Clay Matthews

Randy Moss and Eric Moss (Half brothers)

Merlin Olsen, Orrin Olsen and Phil Olsen

Scott Radecic and Keith Radecic

Carson Palmer and Jordan Palmer

Walter Payton and Eddie Payton

Darren Sharper and Jamie Sharper

Darryl Talley and John Talley

Mike Vick and Marcus Vick

Gene and Marvin Upshaw

Some brothers I didn't know about;

Ryan and John Denney.

Ted and Bill Cotrell

Carwell and Donnie Gardner

Ronnie, Derek and Kevin Harmon

Mike and Trey Junkin

Rob and Louis Riddick

In this draft John Jerry OT is Peria Jerry's brother. Which one will end up being the sucky player? Maybe both.

What about Shannon and Sterling Sharpe. They were both very good.

True. Shannon will be in the HOF someday. Without the neck injury, Sterling might have been.

And from other sports, Brent Gretzky and Billy Ripken say hello. Must be tough trying to live up to those expectations.

I always thought it was funny that the Sabres drafted Keith Gretzky and Wayne Primeau, when they really wanted Wayne Gretzky and Keith Primeau.

Do not belong on that good/bad list: Bruce and Clay Matthews (Jr). Clay might not be in the HOF, but he was a damn good LB for many years.

Clay SHOULD be in the Hall of Fame right now. His brother....did he get in?

Sterling more than likely would've been in Canton were it not for the bulging disk in his neck. The guy had turf toe so bad he couldn't practice one year, and all he did was finish w/ over 100 receptions back in the day when not every other WR was @ or close to 100 receptions. And for most of his Green Bay career, he put up huge numbers w/out Brett Favre, as his neck injury forced him out of football right @ the time Favre started to heat up.

Wow, the Nesser family had 6 brothers playing back in the 1920's.

In modern times, there are 4 Browner brothers.

List shows only 3 kicking Zendejas brothers but there had to be 4, with Tony being the most successful. Maybe they left him off due to his rape accusation?? However, when I looked up Max, it says Alex is a nephew??

The Alou brothers were all good. As were Phil and Joe Niekro along with Gaylord and Jim Perry.

Dom Dimaggio was a very good player too: 1700 hits, lifetime batting average of .298, and a lifetime OPS+ of 111. He missed 3 of his prime years because of WW II as well.

Seeing Rob Riddick's name there reminded me of a quality old player and quality guy - we met him once and just seemed like a great dude -without a chip on his shoulder. Why does it seem like none of our new guys have that humble but tough nosed work ethic anymore (exclude Kyle Williams and Fred Jackson from that quote)? Is it because we get so many guys from Cally?
