Can you imagine Niagara Falls Blvd? With all the street lights... what a cluster**** that would be. They just spent a massive amount of money renovating it. They are far better off than we are with their old dump. 2. Hey dwight in philly, despite the stadium having been paid for, we do have psl's on all of our club seats here. I am not fond of the Ralph and nobodys doing anything more than we have to under the lease terms until Ralph goes away. Then if the team were to remain here (unlikely) I could see an infusion of 200 million and renovate the ralph being far more likely than building a new stadium and me, I would be more than alright with that. Compare it to RWS. There are basically 6 roads in. Abbot north and south, Southwestern east and west, and Big Tree east and west. And guess what, Chalkie...they all have STOP LIGHTS! The city just has to donate the land, which they would like to do, but the land was/is a city bus depot and the soil is contaminated. They are arguing who has to pay for the soil cleanup. It is sad about selling the horses. As far as the horses go, I think the savings were more like 2 million though. It was either get rid of the horses and transfer those officers to squad cars or fire them. The horses lost. They're all coming down the 90 still, and they'll be merging onto the 290. And they will be using all the roads (Niagara Falls Blvd., River Rd. and the Grand Island bridges) that everyone from Tonawanda south (which is the vast majority) will be using. Now, perhaps they will have the traffic run with the police conducting it. Will still need more than two lanes heading towards Niagara Falls. You also have to account for the large amount of Tonawanda/Amherst traffic (local), which is way more than the amount that's dealt with when considering Orchard Park. This reminds me of Baltimore when they were trying to build the baseball stadium at Camden Yards. They used to play at Memorial Stadium, located in a residential neighborhood, and with so little parking cars had to be parked door-to-door and end-to-end!! (I couldn't believe it either.) Still, if you asked any Orioles fan if they needed a new stadium, they would have all said "NO!" Memorial was perfect as it was. Slap a coat of paint on it maybe, nothing more. There was a columnist...his name escapes me but he would be like Larry Felser, the grand old man of the paper...who railed daily against the travesty of replacing a stadium with the character that Memorial had. If you ever been to Memorial Stadium, it had all the character of a parking garage! Cold, leaky, exposed pipes and unadorned cement walls. Still fans loved the place. Of course they did build Camden Yards and, as if by magic, the same people who loved Memorial forgot all about that dump and beamed with pride over their new showplace. Chalk, everything you say about driving to the Falls already happens every game day at Orchard Park, and yet the games still get played at the sun still rises. Stop exaggerating already. Once you get off the 290, you're bombarded with them for quite some time. You get off the 219 at the Milestrip exit, you encounter a couple of them, then you turn left on Abbott and you're within site of the stadium. Same with Big Tree... you exit from the 219, you encounter one street light at California Rd. and then head to stadium parking lot. I don't think you're even wanting to acknowledge the kind of complete cluster**** that would envelope Niagara Falls Blvd. from the 290... how far back do you want the traffic on the 290 to pull over to the shoulder, if they weren't going to build a new lane on the right hand side (approaching from the direction of the airport)? Even if they build a new lane, that wouldn't alleviate the problem completely. How much of Grand Island gets backed up? The bridges themselves? I will try and convince Jeff Lurie that he should build a new stadium across the Delaware and slap it down right in the middle of Camden, NJ. Why so people can sip cocktails on the beach while prancing around in there bathing suits. Or maybe they can take in some of our world class restaurants and clubs. Give me a break. Let the world come here and huddle in there hotel rooms or spend all there money at the indian run casinos. Fantastic idea. We might as well just rent a whole **** load of buses and send them to Toronto for the week. They can come back on Sunday and watch the game. RWS is nothing compared to there. i think the ralph clears out well, considering the amount of people consistently attending. i think the tailgating helps a great deal, both before and after games. i cannot imagine those snooty pat's fans, liberal new englander's , knowing how to tailgate. i am sure they are more concerned about the "dangers" of charcoal, than actually enjoying life! Gambling would be right next to the stadium. The Canadian side has been built up that its shows, shopping and sites rival anything out there. And oh yeah, The Canadian Ballet! Theyve had Super Bowls in Detroit and Minnesota ... just as cold but no where near the attractions. Super Bowl by the Falls would be amazing. Theyve had Super Bowls in Detroit and Minnesota ... just as cold but no where near the attractions. Super Bowl by the Falls would be amazing. I went to Bills -Skins in Minnesota. Had a great time.
