  1. Nobody is arguing the fact that Fitz is inconsistent & his win loss record stinks. I stated my feelings about Fitz & why the Bills need a franchise QB in the initial post so I'm not going to rehash what I stated in the first place. I was giving Fitz & Gailey just a little bit of credit. There have been times over the past 3 years where the offense has been exciting, compared to the abysmal pop-Warner style offense Jauron used. I wouldn't mind if Fitz was our backup, just not our starting QB. Guess no one can give props to anyone around here if they're not a probowl player?! For how long did we hear people ranting & raving about Spiller being a bust, and all the Mario bashing earlier in the season.
  2. Mularkey & Gailey have been the only Bills coaches that had offenses that weren't tanked in the bottom of the league every year since the 90's. Jauron's offenses were offensive!!
  3. Kyle Orton is a possibility. Another guy is Matt Moore. I'm surprised neither one have been given a shot somewhere to be a starting QB.
  4. I agree with your assessment. Fitz is not the worst QB in the league, nor is he an elite QB. I feel Fitz's biggest problem is his consistency.
  5. Down to our 3rd RT. First it was Kelsay this week, now Hairston. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rY0WxgSXdEE
  6. Since Jim Kelly retired, the Bills have not had a QB to throw for 20 TD's in consecutive seasons. Now, Fitz has done it in three consecutive seasons: 2010 - 23 TD's; 2011 - 24 TD's; 2012 - 20 TD's (with four games remaining). Like many others on here, I have been critical of Fitz's play over the course of the season. I still feel the Bills need to address the QB position in the offseason. I agree with Nix that the team was devoid of talent when he took over as GM and they needed to plug in a ton of holes on the team. I get the philosophy that you don't want to get a rookie and put him behind a bad O-line with sub-par receivers, as this could wreck the guys confidence. But I still feel that he should have taken a developmental QB sooner, such as Dalton or Kaepernick. It's either Nix & Gailey were banking on Fitz to succeed or they wanted to build up a good team first, then draft a QB to come in. I'm leaning towards Nix & Gailey banking on Fitz. Either way, congrats to Fitz for this accomplishment. I feel Fitz would be an above average backup QB in the league, but as a full time starter, so far he's been below average.
  7. Just received a text from the Bills that they placed RT Chris Hairston on IR. The injuries to this team never cease year after year.
  8. Agreed. With Aaron Williams out of the lineup, the secondary isn't getting torched big time like it was when AW was starting opposite Gilmore. Speaking of Gilmore, he is getting better each week. I would love to see Brooks develop as well. IMO, Gilmore & Brooks have the potential to be a great pair of shutdown corners (similar to Revis & Cromartie).
  9.
  10. First off, the chances of the Bills making the playoffs are slim and none, with slim having his bags packed getting ready to leave town. With that being said, the Bills need to give players like Brooks and Easley time on the field to get some experience and to see what they got before going into the offseason. When Freddie went down to injury last year, Spiller was thrown into the starting lineup and the rest is history. After seeing Brooks play yesterday, I have more confidence in him than I do Aaron Williams. I hope AW gets a shot at playing safety, because he does not look good at all at CB. If Brooks and Easley can show some development from now to the end of the season, then that's 2 less positions to worry about in the offseason.
  11. That would be great. I hope Wood doesn't have a serious injury.
  12. What did we do to deserve such punishment?!
  13. His leg was immobilized. Early reports don't look good.
  14. Carrington played very well today, as did Easley. Hopefully we will see more of both players.
  15. Damn!!! I like Wood and I feel the O-line is much better when he is in there, but it's seems like he can't catch a break in regards to getting injured.
  16. I think SJ, Wood, Hairston & McKelvin all left the game today. Anyone word on their injuries today?
  17. Hopefully no serious injuries to SJ & Hairston.
  18. Holy crap, Gailey let Lindell try a 50 yd FG!!'
  19. Awesome play by Mario! Glad to see Easley on the field making plays as well (only took 3 years, but better late than never!!)
  20. I was referring to the comebacks in which the Bills did win against those 3 teams. No, it was Fitz. I agree 100% We either get a QB that can chuck the ball 60+ yards with accuracy, but can't hit the broad side of the barn between 1 and 20 yards (Losman), or a bunch of Captain Checkdowns (Holcomb, Edwards & Fitzpatrick). IMO, if there isn't a "sure thing" for a QB in the first round of the draft, then the Bills need to start drafting QB's from rounds 2-7 until they find a QB that works. Without a franchise QB, the Bills will continue to miss the playoffs every year. Great point about the 40+ yard pass to SJ in the end zone. That was a perfect pass in which SJ should have caught. Gailey is an offensive coordinator, not a HC. Gailey's only concern is the offense, he has no control over the defense or special teams as he lets Wannstedt & DeHaven take care of those 2 areas. A HC needs to be responsible for all 3 phases of the game. Losing Nelson was a big blow to the offense, but IMO Fitz has regressed. Watching Fitz miss 3 open receivers down the field last week was brutal.
  21. In the offseason, there was a lot of hype with the Bills bringing in QB coach David Lee to help Fitz improve on his throwing mechanic's. We've heard about how Lee broke down all the incomplete passes that Fitz had thrown in 2011 and why. IMO, I feel Lee made Fitz into a worse QB instead of a better one. Yes, we all knew that Fitz was inconsistent even before the Bills enlisted the help of Lee, but Fitz is the worst passer in the league in regards to passes thrown for 20 yards or more. Before Lee came and changed Fitz's throwing mechanics, Fitz was not so inaccurate with passes thrown for over 20+ yards. In the past, we've seen Fitz lead come from behind wins against the Bengals, Raiders and Patriots. Also, Fitz and Owens hold the Bills record of the longest pass play (98 yards). So, do you think Lee's work did more harm than good, or no change at all?
  22. I think everyone is coming back next year (Fitz, Gailey, Wannstedt). But, Fitz will have competition next year for the starting position as the Bills will either get a QB in FA or in the draft.
  23. If the Bills had a competent QB, that ranked in the middle of the league in "deep pass" completions, I feel the Bills offense would be very successful under Gailey. With defenders spread out to prevent the deep pass, they wouldn't be crowding the line of scrimmage, which would be a huge advantage for the Bills run game. But since Fitz is the worst passer in the league in regards to passes thrown over 20 yards, defenses play the entire field as if it were the red zone against the Bills.
  24. And the person that started that talk got booted from TBD. Besides that, if Ralph really was racist, would he shell out $100 Million dollars to Mario Williams...HELL NO!!
