  1. Looks like Gronk won't be ready for the season opener and if Hernandez gets suspended because the current situation, 2 of the Pats key weapons won't be available for the season opener against the Bills. So that could mean the Holy Diver himself, Tim Tebow would be the Pats starting TE...LOOK OUT!!!
  2. For those sipping on the Pettine kool-aid, you might want to hold off a little bit before taking another sip. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/158986-criticism-of-pettine-from-jets-nation/ "An ESPN blurb I picked up via PFT this morning seems to imply criticism of Bills new DC Mike Pettine." "Ironically the criticism is that the Jets defense was not aggressive enough over the last two seasons when Pettine assumed a larger role in the defensive play calling. Considering that the Bills D seemed to be blitz crazy during OTAs and minicamp this offseason, the allegations seem strange to say the least. But apparently the statistics back up the claims:" http://espn.go.com/b...rand-of-defense "The statistics don't lie. Here's a breakdown of the Jets' blitz percentage (5+ pass rushers) over the past four seasons, according to ESPN Stats & Information: 52.4 percent in '09 (first in NFL), 44.7 percent in '10 (third), 32.8 percent in '11 (12th) and 34.0 percent in '12 (11th). Detect a trend? In fairness to Pettine, he lost the top corner in football, Darrelle Revis, which may have caused him to become more cautious. Yet when I mentioned that alibi to two players, they shot it down, saying Antonio Cromartie capably replaced Revis as the No. 1 corner. I'll say this: The defense will be fun to watch in 2013." It should be interesting to see how Pettine's defense will unfold this season and how well Pettine makes adjustments.
  3. One thing is for sure, the Bills will never be a playoff team until they get a good QB. Is Kolb better than Fitz? Who knows? Will Manuel pan out and be the QB that the Bills desparately need? Only time will tell.
  4. Jerry Jones & the cowboys get my vote for overrated owner & organization. I'm sick & tired of hearing every offseason about how great the Cowboys are, how great Tony Romo is, etc... Jerry Jones had success in the 90's, but blew it when him & Jimmy Johnson had their falling out.
  5. That's nice to know. I was wondering why my post was transferred. The defense got a ton of pressure in OTA's without some 1st stringers in the lineup (KW, Dareus & McKelvin). That could mean some different things: Pettine is smart and is maximizing the talent he has available; the O-line is that bad; or a combo of both. Kyle Williams was hampered two years in a row with 2 different heel injuries. I hope KW will be able to come back healthy and we can see him return to his old form. I know a lot of people are down on Dareus because he hasn't made the Probowl yet (given he was a #3 pick in the draft). Dareus lost his brother lost year and that's a very devastating thing to go through, so people need to give him some slack. If players on the D can stay healthy, such as KW, Dareus, MW, plus with the infusion of new talent (Jerry Hughes, Alan Branch, Kiko Alonzo), as well as the further development of our draft picks (Gilmore & Carrington) it's possible that the defense we were expecting last year could happen this year. I still don't want to drink the kool-aid and get my hopes up just to be let down again (the Bills are like the movie "Groundhog Day," same disappointing thing year after year).
  6. It sounds like we have a good crop of WR's this year. IMO, I think the Bills will keep 6 WR's: SJ, Woods, Goodwin, Graham, Rogers and Brad Smith. The offense has been going at a very rapid pace in the OTA's (getting off snaps in 8-10 seconds between plays). Here's what SJ had to say about the WR's & offense: http://www.buffalobills.com/media-center/videos/Stevie-Johnson-on-Offense-and-2-WR/26edf5ad-04ac-4b4a-8466-dafd482863e0 The O-line is a concern with both Pears & Hairston coming back from injuries battling it out for the RT position, plus the absence of Levitre. I'm hoping Hackett will properly utilize the talent on his roster and give Spiller & Freddie the ball much more often than what Cooter did. Spiller should run the ball 20-25 times a game. With a new offensive system and a lot of younger WR's on the team, running the ball more would make more sense this season.
  7. I posted this here yesterday, but it got transferred to the Stadium Wall. Sadly over the years, I drank a lot of OBD kool-aid, especially last year with Wannstedt as the DC, Mario Williams coming to the Bills and how the defensive front 4 was going to wreak havoc on teams (none of which came to fruition). So far I like the early reports from the defense, but it's still very early in the process so I'm not taking any sips of the OBD kool-aid just yet. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/158942-break-time-for-alonso-bills-teammates/ http://www.buffalone...ills-drive-1004 Tim Graham & Mark Gaughan from the Buffalo News provide their analysis of the 4 weeks of OTA's. What I liked hearing from the commentary is that the new defense is most most aggressive it's been since Gregg Williams was the HC. Sounds like Kiko Alonzo is fast, so hopefully that will translate into him being able to cover TE's & RB's in space (something the Bills LB's have been absolutely horrible about for years). A training camp/preseason battle to watch out for is Alex Carrington & Alan Branch.
  8. Haven't heard from Bflobob yet. I wonder if SLH will chime in?
  9. McGahee only busted his butt in Buffalo when he was trying oust Travis Henry as the starting RB. Afterwards, his production went downhill,
  10. I agree. It's nice seeing all the rookies signed this early in the process, vice the day before training or into training camp.
  11. Hopefully NFL network will pick him up.
  12. It's nice to be able to stay connected. After a couple of weeks, I thought RF365 kicked the bucket for good. Goose was having a problem with his email getting verified, that's why he was only able to post once. Hopefully he'll be back on here soon.
  13. http://www.buffalonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20130613/SPORTS/130619553/two-bills-drive-1004 Tim Graham & Mark Gaughan from the Buffalo News provide their analysis of the 4 weeks of OTA's. 14. Thanks for the update!
  15. Good morning! Didn't expect to see you on here so early. The QB competition will be between Kolb & Manuel, Tuel most likely will be the 3rd stringer (I have no clue if Marrone & co will try and keep Brad Smith as the 3rd string/emergency QB like Cooter did). I would love to say that both Kolb & Manuel are better than Capt. Checkdown & Fitzpathetic, but I need to see them in action with the Bills. Anymore updates from Hugo? If you haven't done it already, checkout your mail from your profile, you'll see messages from Jethro/anello, Joma & myself.
  16. That's me! How have you been? I actually found RF365 from Twobillsdrive years ago as they used to post the Bills articles that were written when the site had authors (Connor Byrne & Anthony Bialy). In regards to the QB competition, I'm not sure who will be the starter come Week 1. I need to see Kolb & Manuel during training camp & preseason to get a better evaluation of these guys. I just hope that neither one of these guys are "training camp monsters" like Trent Edwards & Keith Ellison (guys that looked great in training camp & preseason, but were terrible in the regular season). I sent you a message so make sure you check your mailbox on your profile.
  17. I'll one up that...Not acquiring the right GM's, coaches and players
  18. That's been a problem with Bills coaches over the years, not properly using the talent on their roster.
  19. http://www.buffalobi...50-23c1d895abe2 Nice to see the offense bounce back today in the last session of minicamp. 5 weeks to go until training camp. A lot of parks in WNY are looking runned down these days.
  20. I'm hoping Hackett will know how to properly use his RB's vice how Cooter used CJ & Freddie. At the moment, it's tough to say who will start. I need to see what happens in training camp and some preseason games as well to get a better feel on who will be the starter come Week 1.
  21. These talks about the peace bridge, as well as the waterfront development have been going on for over 30 years. I just hope that a new peace bridge will be in place before the old one falls apart.
  22. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-2/Minicamp-Practice-Notes---Day-2/e9bf5124-0f7a-4098-906a-33619d5b8b83 Nice to see a different defense so far compared to Wannstedt's bland vanilla defense last year. We'll see how this translates to the regular season as Boss Hogg, Cooter & the Stache sold us on how the Defensive front 4 would create all the pressure in the world against the opposing offense.
  23. RF365 is short for www.realfootball365.com. Years ago, Two Bills Drive used to post articles regularly from www.realfootball365.com, which is how a lot of us got on there. Live long and prosper!
  24. I like Steve's P&O and would gladly take one here in VA. I love Schwabl's beef on weck, especially their german potato salad. There's way too much politics in Buffalo, which is why the waterfront and new peace bridge plans have gone nowhere. On RF365, we discuss a lot of different topics. When it's back online, you're more than welcome to check it out.
