  1. It most certainly was started as a sarcasm thing, I see that. But it certainly made me come out of the shadows of being a lurker into almost a daily poster here now (i'm not sure that's a good thing but heh at least TBD can claim to be an international community now... ow wait plenty of english and scots about heh). The topic was started as a "lol who the hell is this guy that we have as 3rd QB" as an offset to the JP/TE discussion, you'd have to ask Pepsi to be sure but I'd reckon it's close to that. Then this wierd Dutch guy showed up actually throwing in some knowledge and facts about Hamdan, he even claimed Hamdan could play. Then preseason came and Hamdan indeed showed he could play, more so then most third string QBs around the league. Funny thing is that the joke delivered, most of the posters here know more about our 3rd QB now then they ever knew about any of the other 3rds the Bills ever had (The Tome of Lori clearly aside). I think it's great to know as much as you can about all 53 players then just about the stars or even starters everyone allready writes about. A Dutch saying goes "your team is as good as it's weakest link" (it sounds awefully familiar in english as well, not sure if it is a saying though). In any way, what started as a joke sure made a lot of people look at Hamdan in practises and in pre-season to see what he could or couldnt do, something that would have happened a lot less if the thread never was started.
  2. Yes, it's only been 3 games. If he makes it into the top 10 at the end of the season end starts next season like this as well I'd say the statement is legit. As for now, it's too early, but it's certainly looking very bright given the knowledge that he will grow only further.
  3. Huh, most serious posts have been about Hamdan being the future 2nd QB. I don't recall anyone saying for serious that they wanted to start Hamdan over JP/Trent, sure many said it jokingly to simply stir things up or to steer everone away from a JP/Trent debate. Hamdan as a QB has very much the same playstyle Trent has, be it that he migth have a stronger arm but is less accurate then Trent. Watch the pre-season downs Hamdan played and compare them to the TE you see today. Funny thing is TE even reminds me of Hamdan during press conferences.
  4. I think you guys are reading way too much in players saying that. The players have purged last season from their brains and are looking forward. Edwards exceeds what they expected out of him in terms of his maturity and they are acknoledging that, nothing more nothing less. For them the JP vs. Trent thing is soooo last year.
  5. I kinda assumed that Trent Green retired after last seasons debacle, didn't realise he signed with the Rams as backup. Must say that I loved him as studio analyst. Bottomline... we'll have the Battle of the Trents sunday...
  6. Jeah, for three quarters, then they are worn out...
  7. Given the fact the Bills are still unbeaten, yes, it is still possible. If the Bills remain healthy chances of actually achieving it go up with but the road is long, Cardinals, SD and NE being tough games, but even those that look lesser teams on paper atm could become contenders throughout the season (*cough* Giants last year *cough*).
  8. Then it would have been an incomplete pass, since Evans was down by contact wasnt he? It was ruled a fumble, for it to be a fumble Evans would have needed to have control of the ball.
  9. Err so the explanation was that Evans bobbled the ball? Let's say he did, that would mean he never had possesion thus an incomplete pass. If Evans bobbled he was still down and the play was over so complete pass or incomplete but no way this was a fumble.
  10. From Dj himself: "We had good preparation. Gibran (Hamdan) has been with them in their system. Our look squad on offense came at our defense fast all week. Not as fast as they do, but fast. So every day, our guys were made aware that you’ve got to be ready. You have to get the calls in, we have to be set to go, because they are coming to that line of scrimmage and they’ll snap the ball." It's not the first time he has made comments to that extent, he did so a couple of times last season as well. IMHO getting our entire D prepped very well > one single player. Sure Lossman could do it but can he? The Bills record sure changed for the better even through last years misery once Hamdan was leading the scout/lookteam. Keep your eyes on the sideline next game, you'll see that Hamdan is very actively involved more so then JP by the looks of things. On top of that, we need a second QB next year and we need one with experience, we have one in our 3rd who has led a proffesional football team to two consecutive championship seasons and who has been to the Superbowl with the Seahawks. Call me crazy but the magic spirit was exactly what was on those three teams and now it's with the Bills. In todays game he walked up to TE, said something and TE stood up and gave the entire offense a fire speech, the scoreboard went from 16-7 to 23-24. Do not underestimate the role Hamdan has with the team. Also normally inactives don't travel with the team do they? Hamdan was on the sideline in Jacksonville as well. Tim has press access, let him pop the simple question to DJ: "How important is Hamdan's role with the team". A thing we're all forgetting in this discussion is that not so much this year but the future of the Bills may have been part in the decision making, as it didn't look like the Bills would retain Crowell for next season.
  11. Didnt get it either on the net I was fuming too hard myself. I fimly believe that was total BS.
  12. Aye well worth the penalty (which was offset anyway), don't mess with the Bills!
  13. That must have been when their video guy came down with the flue...
  14. That happens at a lot of NFL stadiums, I never understood it nor will I ever understand it. When you are in the stadium you are part of the team, for better or for worse, make sure you contribute your part.
  15. Get the ball.... stop em or strip it as long as we get the ball.
  16. Bull. The D plays really well, about time special teams and offense step up.
  17. Well, for me that's an easy one... Rather have Gibran on the team, a quarterback we can be comfortable with next season as 2nd QB and has been creditted a couple of times by DJ after important wins for his great way of leading the scout team and prepping the first team for what to expect during the game. In his current role Hamdan sort of fills a playing coach as I understand it. Listen back to DJs press conference after the Seahawks game, he cleary calls Gibran out there as contributor to the win. Crowell on the other hand, his injury aside, was being childish over loosing his captianship plus that it was clear that he wanted money for next season the Bills thought he wouldnt be worth, so why not say goodbye to him now and instead invest the full season in Constanzo and Corto to see if we will need to pick an LB at our first draft pick next year. Winning championships (jeah) is about team chemistry for a big part as well, it could have been that Crowell was felt to be disruptive to it. Then again maybe the Bills are just fed up with the constant dollar battle and wanted to send a firm message not to mess with the team.
  18. Guess Trent will be holding out next year...
  19. Ashton Youboty for sure allthough Fred Jackson was impressive as well
  20. Why is it a bad thing the JAX game is televised? Keeps more JAX fans at home, which means less noise...
  21. Ow well I gave it a most likely futil try anyway: Why did you give up on NFL Europe in a season where they posted 20% spectators increase and had one of most succesfull World Bowls in history? Was it purely mismanagement from the NFL Europe side where they presented a flawed plan for the coming season without a backup plan? Why did you fold it even if 3 years left of a so called guaranteed existence of the coming 5 years? Financially it started to do see improvements. Play quality wise it certainly delivered (just see current roster statistics). How do you feel about restarting a spring competition with 16 teams in 4 divisions spread out over the world where each of the 16 teams is supported by one AFC and one NFC team. If you limit play to divisions with a playoff schedule it would mean 8 games per season to start after the draft which would fit in greatly before ota's and tc start. It could be made profitable easily by allowing US sponsors who are looking for a global reach. By linking one NFC and one AFC team to one NFL World League team it would also create local market intrest from the US, the US fans will have teams to identify themselves with. It could even go as far as giving the AFC and NFC teams joined ownership of the NFL International franchise, this would also greatly reduce front office overhead cost since it can be run from their respective front offices with a small local team to excute. This will also prevent salary posts of $15 million as it was with NFL Europe. Linking the NFL International teams to both a AFC and a NFC team will also create a fanbase for their US based counterparts by the local fans thus greatly expanding current merchandising market of NFL gear as well as create permanent media coverage and attention not only towards the local NFL International teams but certainly towards their NFL based counterparts as well. It can be proven that NFL Europe greatly contributed towards the far higher play level the NFL has today as compared to 1995. Not having a spring league may cause the NFL level to slowly drop over the coming years again. Rosters can be filled by expanding the current practise squad number to 27 making assignment of PS players mandatory, this will both enhance identification as well as create opportunity to actually develop players through playtime. NFL Pre Season can then be limited to 2 games. I doubt you'll ever read this or even one of your assistants but at least I tried to get this message to you. In case you care enough to actually get in contact, I can be reached at xxxxx.xxx@xxxxxxxx.xx. Regards, xxxxx xxx
