  1. I agree that it lacks in the humor department, but I don't know if it's really a big deal. I don't think that this stuff is taking their mind off these crucial games, and I think if they spent ALL their time dwelling on these past three losses, it would be a bad thing. One of the most important things to do when a team's back is against the wall IMO is to stay loose. That doesn't mean not doing everything you can to fix certain problems and prepare, but to stay away from being completely uptight about the situation at all hours. I'm a huge Red Sox fan, and I think their approach of staying calm and loose during times when they were facing some tough challenges (Mostly in the postseason I know, but it's still an example) helped them be successful at very unlikely times. You need to take it one game at a time and not dwell on the failures of the past few games, just work towards correcting them...And perhaps developing a viable defensive scheme .
  2. Limp Bizkit because Dick Jauron reminds me of a well-aged Fred Durst.
  3. Very well said. I think we get in at 10-6. Baltimore going through the whole NFC East will mean at least 3 more losses IMO, along with whatever other divisional games they may drop. I think one of the wild cards is coming out of the East with the other being the Colts. If Baltimore finishes 9-7 which is very likely, we get in at 106.
  4. So sad, but incredibly true....IMO we have the players on both sides of the ball that can get the job done, but our schemes on both sides are just so bad that it makes it nearly impossible.
  5. If 10-6 doesn't win us the East, it will get us a wild-card spot for sure with the way the rest of the divisions are playing this season IMO.
  6. I agree. It would just be nice to find somewhere to utilize his skills err....contract.
  7. I don't know if I'm getting really desperate or if this actually sounds like a decent idea.....
  8. Justin Tuck. And a GREAT defensive scheme almost every Sunday. Simple as that. The Giants defense makes offenses react to them, not vice versa like our soft zone with a 4-man rush 80% of the time.
  9. In my eyes, Greer is our best cover guy, hands down.
  10. Although I don't think Whitner has had a particularly good year at all, its still a big loss of the leader of the defense. Ko, Scott, Wilson, as well as all the corners NEED to step up in light of this. Can that happen? Yes, and I think it will.
  11. You're absolutely dead on. If someone who hasn't followed the NFL or the Bills in particular at all this year was to come on this site the last 24 hours or so, they would surely guess that we're a 2-6, 3-5 team right now rather than sitting at 5-3 with a share of first place in the division. It's unreal.
  12. I don't know what games you have been watching over the last year and a half, but Greer is our BEST cover corner IMO and solid at run-support as well. Even when McGee is healthy, I'd rather have Jabari on the opposing teams top wideout. Unless I'm way off base here somehow.
  13. I agree. I see Sunday as easily the biggest game of our season. If we can beat the Pats* in New England, we hold onto at least a share of 1st place in the East, get that first big division win, take a monkey off our back, and run the record to 6-3, all in the same week. It's not going to be easy, but it can undoubtedly be done. This a huge game for Trent, he needs to bounce back and take control of the offense like most around here believe he can. Defensively, we simply cannot rely on 4-man rushes to get pressure on Cassel, and Jauron/Fewell NEED to develop a scheme that includes a wide variety of blitz packages. I'm not real worried about New Englands running game, and I would like to see Greer shadow Randy Moss all game long. If he does, I can see us containing Moss. We're also due for a big play from special teams, and Roscoe breaking one would be huge on many levels.
  14. Miraculous turnaround? Since when are we under .500? And tell me, what game left on our schedule do we have very little chance of winning? It's midway through the year and we are 5-3, with a manageable schedule for the second half of the year. Alot can happen, put things into perspective a bit.
  15. 10-6.....Home games against the Browns on MNF and San Fran should def. be wins IMO. I say we then split with the Pats one way or the other, beat Miami in Toronto, beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead (Which will be tough, no matter what), and I'm counting the other two losses to the Broncos at Mile High and the Jets in the Meadowlands. I think this is a very plausible scenario, and they could very well beat the Jets in New York or the Broncos as well. I think most people on this board would have been pretty happy with 5-3 at this point coming into this season, particularly with the Peters situation and Crowell suddenely done for the year. With as much parity as there is today in the NFL, almost every team in the entire league is going to go through one or two tough stretches that include back-to-back losses. This is a fact. And this has no doubt been a tough two games for the Bills (But don't forget, the Chargers are still one of the best teams in the AFC IMO, and that was a big time win.) It's how you adjust and pull together during these stretches that seperates the contenders from the pretenders. This team is still the best in the division once they get healthy IMO. Does anyone really believe that Miami and New York are CLEARLY better football teams? Or did the Bills simply not play at the level they're capable of? I would lean towards the later for sure. I personally see a big time bounce back win against the Pats* this Sunday, and I can't wait to see what this board looks like when it happens. The bandwagon is getting lighter and lighter by the hour, and it's sad.
  16. "Smokin, jokin, and tokin outside the locker room". Wowwww.
  17. That's a great point. And I'll tell ya what, I'd much rather be sharing the road at 2 AM with someone who has taken a few rips of the bong rather than someone coming home from the bar after a few hours of shots and beers.
  18. Excellent. Avatar is awesome as well. Nothing like watching Wooderson pull into the Emporium with "Hurricane" going in the background....
  19. Dean, you're spot on as far as your comments about marijauna in the U.S. goes. The prohibition reference is an interesting comparison. I had never thought along those lines before, but it def. seems to make sense. As far as gay marriage goes, most of that comes down to many people in this country having a problem with same sex couples receiving the same benifits as heterosexual couples when married. Right or wrong, this is the main argument against it aside from the religious issues of course.
  20. Very well said. Make room in jails for the people who actually deserve to spend time in them.
  21. Murra, you are absolutely spot on with this take. There is no doubt that most people do not have much of an understanding, or for the most part recognition, of Obama's "fascination with socialist policies". I quoted you there because that is exactly what it is. If you look deeper into Obama's life, specifically his socialist beliefs, and the radical socialist beliefs of the people who he "admires". Not to mention his religious mentors, who consistently preach, without any apology, about the "Black Cause" rather than what's in the best interest of American citizens as a whole.
