Look...I've been about as vocal as anyone around here about getting a Franchise QB...But once it was clear that Dareus was going to fall to the Bills at #3 they really only had 2 choices...Draft Dareus, or Trade back a bit for Gabbert...There was no way The Bills were going to take Gabbert over Dareus no matter how bad they need a Franchise QB...I'm about as big a Gabbert supporter as there is around here...But he a project QB (granted with huge upside) regardless, and Dareus is a ready-to-destroy-monster in an area of massive Need for The Bills...Any idiot who would dock the Bills a notch for taking Dareus over a QB at #3 has no business Grading any Draft... I think you could have made the argument for QB better had it been Miller at #3...But with Dareus, no way...At least not yet...If Gabbert becomes a Top 10 QB in 3 years then maybe...But right now, no way...It's an A+ Draft Pick for The Bills all the way right now...

Exactly...How is Dareus not an A+?...On the NFL Network they were asking which of the players in this Draft would be in the Top 100 this time next year and Dareus was the 1st Player mentioned...It was a HUGE need for this Teams and a TON of Scouts had him #1 Overall...A B+ Grade??? Must be because The Bills Drafted him...

NO ONE is blaming Whitner for the TEAM being terrible...They are blaming Whitner for Whitner being terrible...There's a BIG, big difference there...And no he did not leave it all on the field...Unless you mean missed tackles and bad angles...He left a few of those out there...Off the Field he was clearly an outspoken Player who welcomed the attention and wanted to be known as the Leader of that Defense even though he rarely played like a Leader...Then on top of it all he wants to be paid like one of the best Safeties in the League??? I promise you I LOVE The Buffalo Bills and I normally defend their Players to an extreem...If someone said something negative about Freddie Jackson or Kyle Williams to me I'd probably deck em' But Donte? I'm done with that guy...It's not his fault he was Drafted 2 Rounds higher than he should have been...But I'm hoping it's time to move on from the Whitner era at SS for the Buffalo Bills...And I wish him all the luck in the world elsewhere...

I admit I rip a bit much on Lil' Donte...But he's never been the type to be humble since he's been here either...He's outspoken and he almost never backed it up with his play on the field...Maybe it is me, but Donte pretty much defines what I don't like about some Pro athletes...Plus he went to Ohio St and I'm a Michigan Fan... But I'll stop now...I wish Donte the best of luck...I just hope that luck comes on another NFL team...We'll see soon enough...

There are plenty of Posters in this thread that I respect a lot, so I'm not going to say too much...But I am surprised there is not more concern about Mallett's upside knowing who just Drafted him...Remember...Belichick was NOT a Bledslow guy...His mentor was...He's the one that would not re-insert him as the Starter when he was healthy, and of coarse the one that Traded Bledslow...Belichick CLEARLY sees something in Mallett if the reports are true and he had Mallett the #1 QB on their Board...No matter what you think about Mallett, I would be a bit concerned knowing BB likes him THAT much...I mean...Sure I hope Mallett totally sucks now...But I am worried longterm...It's not like Belichick has gone easy on us over the past decade or so...

Dalton/Mallett/Kaepernick may or may not be better than Fitz...We'll see in a few years...Mallett and Kaepernick CLEARLY have a higher upside than Fitz...No one knows if they'll ever reach that upside...Jim Harbaugh and Bill Belichick are betting on the fact they will...Those 2 NFL HC's know more about Football than you do... The Bills STILL need a Franchise QB of the future, a FACT that their GM and HC FULLY admit...A FACT that several Folks around here understand...But we also understand the Dareus Pick and the lean towards Defense in this Draft...It does not change the fact that we don't feel like Fitz can be a consistent winning QB in the NFL...And if we're lucky, we're wrong...We'll see...
