  1. Seriously? You wanna go there?
  2. No way The Colts pass on Luck...Not in a million years...And not for any Trade...If Manning was a few years younger and not coming off a REAL serious injury that would be one thing... The Colts will take Luck...Take it to the bank... Agreed...I think that's why Archie is already talking about how it will be too weird to keep both of them...Manning will lobby the Colts to deal out of #1...When they refuse...which they will...Manning will ask to be dealt...
  3. Right now there are only 4 Teams (Colts, Vikings, Rams, and Jags) who will more than likely finish with worse records than The Bills...There are a TON of Teams with 4 wins who could easily get to 6 (Dolphins, Eagles, Redskins, Panthers, and Bucs)...The way The Bills are playing now, they could easily Draft 5th or 6th in April...I think Luck, Barkley, and OT Matt Kalil will all go Top 5 when things filter out...So while I do think it's an outside chance that The Bills will get high enough to Draft Blackmon...It's certainly not out of the realm of possibility...
  4. Not saying RG3 will ever amount to anything... But I'm pretty sure they said the same things about almost every QB who has been Drafted high...Newton is a PRIME example of that...Carolina had a couple players, but certainly no more talent than the Bills have on Offense...If they can play the QB position at a high level in the NFL they will make everybody around them better in a heartbeat... PS...Listened to an interview recently with RG3 and he came across extremely bright...Hard not to like that Kid...
  5. Well...As soon as they had injuries at the position they brought him back...They had no room for him before that...Ryan said they were trying to figure out a way to keep him coming out of Camp... Schematic flexibility? Looks to me that Maybin lines up on the Left Side on most Passing Downs...Puts both hands down in his crazy stance...And tries to kill the QB...Not much scheme needed there... So you're opinion is Maybin could not provide pass rush for The Bills? I'll give you one thing...Ryan certainly can provide the guidance as a Defensive mind to help Maybin along...But that's part of my point...We don't have the defensive minds in house to utilize a VERY obvious, albeit singular, talent the Kid has???...Even when it's a massive Need on this Team???...How bad is that? Especially when you invested a 1st Round Pick on him... Look, I'm not trying to make Maybin into Superman or anything like that...He is limited and in no way should he have been the #11 overall pick...But he DOES have a talent...And that talent is a major need on this Bills Team...It's actually beyond a major need...And they cut the Kid when there was ZERO reason to do so...You're making excuses for another stupid Bills decision...But worse than that you're basically saying the Kid is not really as good at what he does as it seems...Regardless of how much worse he would be in this Bills scheme, he would still be our best pass rusher...That's how bad this Team needs pass rush...That's all I'm saying... Done talking about it...Make me want to vomit...
  6. Maybin came to the Jets WAY late in Camp and got caught up in a temporary numbers Game...The fact that they immediately brought him back shows Ryan thought he had enough ability to work with...And that "luxury" stuff, assuming the Jets have SO much talent and that's the reason Maybin is getting his sacks and FF's, is unfounded...It's just another way of saying he could not rush the passer as well in Buffalo if given the opportunity...He would be single blocked in Buffalo most of the time too...He can rush the passer...The Bills have NO ONE that can rush the Passer...Even if Maybin is double teamed in Buffalo on every obvious passing down it would help... This article aside (the theory about Maybin being cut to make Gailey and Nix look better by comparison is a bit ridiculous), there is a bigger problem, or maybe even more than one big problem concerning Maybin's release...And Bills Fans should look into knowing the truth instead of belittling Maybin and his one-trick-pony-self... Tim Graham was on WGR Monday Morning and said he talked to Gailey face to face right after Maybin was cut...And even though Gailey would not come out and say it directly, he STRONGLY inferred that Maybin was cut because he lacked the talent to play in the NFL...This coming from a HC who has a Team with ZERO Pass Rush (yes I know Merriman was fairly healthy at the time...SO WHAT?)...They felt as a Coaching Staff that Maybin lacked talent...Now...Maybe Maybin lacks the talent overall to be a Starting 3-Down NFL 3-4 OLB...That can certainly be argued...But he definitely has enough talent to rush the passer...That has been pretty much proven...But this Defensive Coaching Staff, in there expert evaluation and developmental capabilities, did not think Maybin had the talent...That is a HUGE problem... The secondary problem here is that Maybin may very well have been pushed out the door because he simply made too much money to be situational player...The call may have come from above...And if that was the case(which I have no idea if it was or not), for a team that needs pass rush as badly as the Bills do...It's inexcusable... Just another Chapter in the complete joke of a story The Buffalo Bills have become...
  7. I hear ya... But I think most of that kind of talk, at least in The Bills locker room, is due to the fact that they have pretty decent personalities as a whole and they are not going to throw any of their Coaches under the bus...It's mostly the same throughout the league...Listen to an interview of a player AFTER the good Coach comes to town...That's when you get the truth...I was listening to an interview with Brian Cushing a couple weeks ago and he was asked about what Wade Phillips has done to turn that D around...And his answer was basically that Phillips has done everything to improve that D...He said the difference was night and day...Now I'm guessing he was not bashing the Houston Defensive Coaches last year...But the players know...And The Bills do have talent on Defense...Not Top 10 talent, but they do have talent...No way should they be this bad... It's the worst Coached Defense I've ever seen...It really is...
  8. "Done well?" That guy should be forcibly prohibited from writing about Football for the rest of his life... "Done well..."
  9. "We have to play better."
  10. They basically continue to suck...
  11. That sucks... RIP
  12. Agreed... No question Cody was boom or bust...And he had quite a big bust...But I digress... Thing is here we are again...A Prospect we pass on turns around and becomes a player for the Ravens...In the case of Cody, reports have him down to 335!!! Now here's a Kid we obviously passed on because of his off-field red-flags...Which is understandable...I say we passed on him for that reason because I'm assuming The Bills agreed with everyone else under the sun that felt like IF Cody dedicated himself and got in better shape he was not only the best NT in the 2010 Draft, he had the potential to be the best NT in the NFL...But we do so as an Organization because we have zero faith in our ability to get through to a Kid like Cody...And you know what? My guess is Cody would have come to Buffalo and gotten fatter, because that's just the way things go around OBD...
  13. Kinda bored here at the Office so I decided to go back and look at some Draft Rankings and Reports from 2010...it was some interesting reading...Anyway... Lets first look at the circumstances under which Troup was Picked...It seems The Bills were going to take a NT at #41...Like I said in another thread they knew at the time what we have all come to understand...While being an REAL good player, Kyle Williams is not a 3-4 NT...So The Bills were going to take a 3-4 NT at #41 it seems come hell or high water, and while Troup was clearly not ranked that high by just about everyone on the earth other than the Buffalo Bills, when you look at the pure 3-4 NT's it was either Troup or Terrence Cody at this point of the Draft because Dan Williams went at #26 Overall...The Bills opted for Troup...And he did not come without some serious intangibles...While most Rankings had him as a 3rd-4th round talent most Scouts were pretty positive about his potential as a Starting 3-4 Nose...Believe me I've looked for the negative reports, and they simply were not there...At least for the most part...Though I do know plenty of folks felt it was a reach taking him at #41 after-the-fact...Still more often than not he got good, solid grades...Just not #41 overall grades... Which leads me to believe that Troup has basically been playing hurt most of his Pro career...We all know about the lingering back issue, the broken hand...I don't think this is the Kid I read about whatsoever...Regardless of where he was picked...He was supposed to be a super-strong (34 reps at the Combine), 2 gap player who would not wow anyone with Pass Rush abilities but would plug the middle and fight the double team...He's just not that Kid, and he has not been that Kid...And I think rather than to say he stinks, it's more logical to assume he's just got a bad back... Hindsight is always 20/20...But Buddy should have simply read TSW...Because there were a BUNCH of Folks right here who agreed with me at the time...And I wanted Cody...
  14. I think the above poster hit in on the head about this Defense and playing to the strengths of the personnel rather than scheming dispite it...Dareus and Williams would seemingly be the strength of this Defense...While Dareus and Williams can play DE in a 3-4, they are both far better suited inside at DT in a 4-3...And really, can we just come out and say it?...KW is NOT a 3-4 NT...Good grief...That's exactly why Buddy spent a 2nd Round Pick on Troup...He knew it...Everybody knows it...Williams had a tremendous year in 2010 playing out of position...But Teams still ran the ball on the Bills at will...KW was playing out of position, and that was part of the reason why the Bills were a terrible D in 2010... So...I think the logical way for The Bills to approach this is to build a 4-3 around Dareus and Williams...We'll see if the man with the genius plan can adjust to that logic...I kinda doubt he will as well...He's already become well adapt at out-thinking himself...Which IMHO is not a tough thing to do...
  15. While I don't disagree with what you're saying...A 25 year old man like Stevie (and I'll let you fill in the many blanks there) simply does not, and will not, look at it that way...That's the new generation of this type of athlete...Stevie said it himself...He was just having fun...And I've heard plenty of responses from Kids his age who agree it's just goofing...Just having some fun...No biggie... Forget about the fact that The Jets had cremated the Bills 3 Games in a row and at the time of the celebration the Bills had a lousy TD lead in the 2nd Quarter...Forget that it was classless (The crashing Jet thing was not so bad...problem is you can't go to the ground on a celebration...The leg-shooting thing was embarrassingly classless IMHO...No matter how stupid Burress was shooting himself in the leg...Maybe it's something you joke with your buddy's about over a beer...as an end-zone celebration it was SO classless to me...) and it cost his Team a penalty...That matters not...It's just goofing...Having a laugh...Innocent...You know?... Ya...Me neither...But I'm old...
  16. I would start by recommending any Alabama or LSU Game...And most SEC Games...That's always a good start...Most of the time the announcers will tell you who the NFL Prospects are...In the case of the LSU and Alabama's Defenses, it's pretty much every player...
  17. Oh don't we know it Brother!!!
  18. I don't disagree with the premise of the argument where concentration and focus are concerned...But one thing I keep hearing that is driving me nuts...Exactly how much time is needed to work on, or spent "worrying," on an endzone celebration? 2-3 minutes maybe? It's the perception of a lack of focus that goes along with this, and it's warranted...But actually spending time worrying about a celebration is truthfully not a factor...It's the lack of concentration rather than too much planning or worrying...
  19. Agreed... I would not be in favor of a College DC whatsoever...It's a HUGE step up...And with Gailey's concentration on Offense The Bills are going to need and experienced NFL DC with a proven track record...Nolan or Spagnuolo would be my choice right now...
  20. Sullivan's point, and his thinking behind it, went beyond tweets...His feeling is Stevie is too caught up in the whole off-the-field life that it's effecting his play on the field and costing his team in key moments...So he thinks the Bills should demand that Stevie cut out the pubic distractions and grow-up...He said it all should be in writing in the new deal...He is in favor of re-signing Stevie... Not saying I agree or disagree...Just expanding on the thread...
  21. Seriously? The Bills have ZERO Pass Rush...NOTHING!!! I could care less if it was Pears or Maybin...He's got 5 Sacks and 3 FF in 8 Games...This Team is so desperate for Pass Rush...It's not even funny...Maybin's speed is going to beat mismatches throughout the NFL...By no means am I saying Maybin is all that...He is what he is...But what he is, as limited as it may be...The Bills could use that in the worst way right now...
  22. Too true... I was wondering yesterday while watching Maybin cause so much havoc on Passing Downs that The Bills finally started to double-team him late in the Game...What was the REAL reason The Bills cut Maybin?...OK, we know the Kid is completely one-dimensional...Chan spoke about that often...But it's a dimension this Team has zero, notta, nothing at...And I wonder if the reason Maybin was cut outright had more to do with what he was going to be paid for that one dimension? I mean...From all accounts Maybin was a hard working, dedicated Kid who's teammates liked him...The move now has "Ralph" written all over it...Whether it was Ralph, or one of his cronies, the business model he set up...whatever...After seeing Maybin get 5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles in 8 games, is there really any question The Bills pushed him out the door prematurely? Especially considering this Teams inability to rush the freaking passer? Maybin is no different a player with The Jets...He's the same guy he was here...He's one-dimensional, skinny, whatever...But he CAN rush the passer...He's proving it...So maybe, just maybe, Ralph's business model disallowed paying #11 overall cash to a one-dimensional player? Maybe?
  23. This Defense had one of their better Games of the Season, and they still gave up 28 points along with a game winning 82 yard TD drive in the 4th Quarter... That should tell us all about the state of this Defense...Not the greatest talent in the league by a long-shot...But clearly the worst Coached Defense in the NFL by a country mile...
