Goodness...Rankins, A. Robinson, J. Reed, and Dodd still on the board at #19??? I can't decide... -

That's the basic formula I've used in every mock Draft I've done...To me it makes total sense...I also think it fit the strengths of this Draft at the individual positions... -
Dodd is definitely the guy I want most at #19...Even if Rankins or Robinson slide...The Bills need to get pressure on the passer and I think Dodd is just starting to realize his potential...

Crystal Ball: Top Prospects for 2016 NFL Draft

Deep at the top...VERY deep at the top...But that is going to thin out REAL fast because just about every team can use another D-lineman... And I'm not crazy about any of these first round LB's not named Myles Jack...I just don't think they are worthy of #19 overall...What you will get at D-line at #19, compared to a guy like Lee or Ragland is a big gap IMHO...I think LB's like Lee and Ragland should go in the #49 area...But they're being pushed up because it's not a great LB class...No t that they are not good players because they are...But Lee is undersized and Ragland is a slower 2-down thumper... Or maybe a better way to put it is this...If you believe in BPA...there is virtually no way a LB should go ahead of several D-Linemen at #19... And I'm not anti-LB either...Just not crazy about this class...I loved Luke Kuechly coming out...I liked Shazier too though, like Lee, I worried a bit about his size...And Shazier has been oft injured... Maybe it's just me...But I think a D-lineman that in another Draft would normally be a top 10 player is going to slide to #19 this year...I think ANY LB in this Draft that will be available at #19 is a bit of a reach... -

That's what they thought last year...And they had Mario too!!! This is such a tremendous Draft for D-line talent I'm all in on using #19 and #49 to solidify the D-line/Pass Rush...If that means a DE/OLB type like Dodd or Fackrell I'm AOK with it...But I feel like getting LB's who can tackle, or specialist LB's/Safeties who can cover is easier to find later than top notch D-linemen who can take over a game... My feeling is...You add two top prospects to Dareus, Williams, Hughes, and Bryant and NOW you really have something going... -
Crystal Ball: Top Prospects for 2016 NFL Draft

Michigan St had some pretty good Defenses during his years there...Ranked 3rd overall in 2013, 22nd in 2014, and 26th last year... Had to have something to do with the Win/Loss deal... I'm not against Cook either...I am however dead set against him in the 1st two rounds... It only takes one team...That's for sure! And I imagine plenty of teams like Cook... But my argument here is based on the 1st two rounds...And I just feel that taking him that early, based on some really strong analytics, is a major risk... -

With all due respect...And I'm sure this has been discussed before...But still... I see your signature for Cook with a trade down in the 1st...Advocating for taking a QB in the 1st round of the NFL Draft with a completion percentage under 60% in every single year as a starter (he never hit 59% either) is a risk I don't think any NFL team will be willing to make in the day and age of advanced analytics...There is no way any NFL team should consider Conner Cook in the 1st Round...And that does not mean he can't buck the trend...What it does mean is this...The trend is so incredibly strong and backed up by actual, factual, analytics that a team who wishes to gamble on Cook being the one single guy who is going to shatter the trend (and if you're going to take him in the first you have to believe he is going to SHATTER the trend...That means being much better than the best recent guy coming out who had less than 60% in College...Kaepernick...who was a 2nd Rd pick btw...) is basically insane... Remember...Even though Matt Stafford, Carson Palmer, and Jay Cutler had career College completion percentages under 60% (I'm not going to count Matt Ryan who's 71 attempts as a Freshman pushed him below the 60% career mark...Ryan finished at 59.9% career at BC...But over 61% as a Soph and a Jr...) ALL of them had at least one year as a Starter in College over 60%...And only Cutler did not hit over the 60% mark in his Sr year...He hit 61% as a Jr, and 59.74% for his Jr and Sr years combined...Cook NEVER hit 59%!!!...And the names we're talking about here in comparison with Cook...Kaepernick, Cutler, Stafford, Palmer...It's not like we're talking about Brady, Brees, Wilson...etc...Heck even Kirk Cousins went well over 60% (64.1%) at the same school... I would take a shot at Cook in the 3rd or later...No sooner though...The odds are stacked against him based on his College numbers...just the chance of being better than the likes of Stafford, Palmer, and Cutler is a long shot... -

That's pretty much exactly what I want the Bills to do...I'm a big fan of Dodd at #19...And I'll take Nkdemiche, Jones, or Butler at #49...That's my dream scenario... -

First pick in the 4th would be my guess... -
Which QB do you want the Bills to draft?
KOKBILLS replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm in the Cardale camp...No question he's going need time to develop...But they all are to an extent...I think he's a fit for what the Bills want to do long term under Rex...His arm is legit...He's a big dude that can run really well...It may be a good thing that he has not had enough time to develop a ton of poor habits...We'll see...Maybe Roman can mold him into something really, really special...Because I think his ceiling is very high... My feeling is...based on the assumption that they are all going to need work...Cardale gives you 1st Round talent without having to use a 1st round pick... -

Absolutely no question... I wish he was a little bigger...But that kid is special... -
I trust the staff too...Thing is...This is a Draft where you don't have to gamble...There's plenty of talent up high along the D-line...Talent that produced big time, in big games, in big Conferences... Like I said before...Either of those two at #49 and I'm AOK with it...But at #19 there's going to be enough legit talent...Getting a player like Reed, Billings, Dodd, Butler, Lawson, or one of the other top D-linemen will certainly not be considered playing it safe...This Draft is loaded...

Crystal Ball: Top Prospects for 2016 NFL Draft
KOKBILLS replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well...Where to start... It's really more about the strategy for me than it is the actual players...I really dislike the idea of going LB, S at the top of this particular Draft for the Bills...I feel like this is one of the best D-line Drafts we've seen...The Bills are a couple players short along the D-line...They need an infusion of talent and youth there...And the top 75 or so in this Draft is REALLY deep in Defensive line talent...I think if the Bills get the right two players to add to a rotation that already includes Dareus, KW, Bryant, and Hughes they can bring this Defense back big time...I also think there is plenty of mid-to-late-round talent at LB and Safety in this Draft to fill in the holes... I'm not a big fan of taking a smallish LB in the 1st round when there is this much D-Line talent in the Draft...I'm of the mind that LB's can be had later...If the Bills were to take Lee over D-linemen like Dodd or Lawson I would be less than thrilled...I'm not crazy about Lee's size...And while I can see him as a nice match-up option for TE's I wonder if he'll hold up vs the run... Joseph is a good player...But a smaller Safety in the 2nd Round coming off a knee injury does not get me too excited... Hargrave and Ward are good long range prospects...But you don't need them if you take better, more talented, D-linemen in the 1st and 2nd rounds... I do like the Cardale Jones Pick... -

The best move for the Bills in the draft is to trade down.
KOKBILLS replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well... That's like saying what if pigs could fly, could they migrate South for the Winter? At #19 I think the names would be more like Rankins, or one of the Alabama DT's...If one of those guys is still around it would certainly give me pause...But even that is unlikely...Ramsey and Bosa is dreaming... -

KOKBILLS replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I kind of always think trading down is the best strategy...But in this Draft, with all the D-line talent available, I think it's a real possibility... If you can trade down a few spots and still get a prospect like Dodd, Lawson, Butler, etc...Why not? -
In the last 10 minutes I heard John Murphy refer to Hogan as a possible 2nd or 3rd Round Pick... He's done so 3 times now...I know the guy takes to all kinds of people about the Draft...Where does this come from? I swear I have not heard Hogan's name come up earlier than the 5th or 6th and I thought I've seen or heard just about everything this year...2nd or 3rd is insanity for Hogan...

Who would surprise you as the Bills 1st round pick?
KOKBILLS replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Any QB, WR, OT, CB, or S would surprise me to be honest...I would even be mildly surprised by a LB... I just think it's D-line all the way...I really do... -
19: R1P19 DE KEVIN DODD CLEMSON 49: R2P18 DT CHRIS JONES MISSISSIPPI STATE 80: R3P17 WR TYLER BOYD PITTSBURGH 117: R4P19 QB CARDALE JONES OHIO STATE 139: R4P41 CB CYRUS JONES ALABAMA 156: R5P17 S JAYRON KEARSE CLEMSON 192: R6P17 OLB TRAVIS FEENEY WASHINGTON 218: R6P43 OT JOE DAHL WASHINGTON STATE I really like this one...Even late I got two guys I feel can match up fairly well with TE's in coverage...Something I think is a growing situational need in the NFL...I could have had Nkemdiche at #49, but I choose Jones because he had better production in the same Conference, he's bigger, and I think he's just a safer pick...Cardale Jones is my personal pick as a developmental guy at QB...I wanted to grab an ILB, but it did not fall right...Overall I'm trying to stick to my personal favorite theme of D-line at #19 and #49...Get a WR, a developmental QB, a S, a CB, LB depth and O-Line depth...
