  1. I promise you this much...Without saying ANY of these potential QB prospects will have a good career...From a pure scouting standpoint, and assuming Watson and Trubisky come out, EJ would be no better than the 7th ranked QB in this Draft...8th if Josh Allen declares...The notion that this QB class has anything in common with 2013 is laughable...The main problem with this class is the lack of experience...There are some very good developmental prospect QB's...Most teams will just throw them in, and if so they will struggle...But EJ would have a hard time getting Drafted before the 5th Rd had he come out this year...Period...
  2. They gave up 27 points to the Texans...That's why Carr is so important...He's elite...They went 12-3 with Carr as a starter despite having a bottom 7 Defense...Raiders opponents scored 24 or more points 11 out of their 17 games...The Texans only gave up 24 or more points 5 times...Carr is by far the determining factor in that teams success...They aren't mopping the floor with anyone unless they get elite QB play...
  3. So...Did that solidify Carr's MVP argument or what? That team is worse than average without him...
  4. See...I think that's the whole point of always getting more...Success rate for every team is shaky, even the best...So...the more picks you get, the better your chances are to land a few more gems... BTW...It seems like consensus in my Scouting group that the Ravens had an awesome 2016 Draft...I do not follow them enough to know...But a bunch of folks in the group were talking their Draft up all year...
  5. The Ravens have had between 8-11 picks the past 5 Drafts... They always seem to come up with more than 7...Whether it's through compensatory picks or whatever... Since the 2006 Draft (11 Drafts total) the Ravens have only had less than 7 picks once, and only 7 picks twice...5 of those 11 years they have had 9 or more Draft picks... The Bills have 6 picks this year...3 of those picks are 5th round or later... Whaley loves to Trade Draft picks and it drives me insane...IMHO there is nothing that can stunt team building like trading away Draft picks...ESPECIALLY when you are trading those picks without a Franchise QB, and not to GET a Franchise QB...
  6. Smith-Schuster would be a grand-larceny steal at #42...
  7. Smith-Schuster
  8. If Whaley had simply not said..."We're close.." this would all be SO much less confusing IMHO... I could understand them moving on from Tyrod...No matter what the plan may be...But I really don't see how you get closer in 2017 without Taylor...And I'm not a huge TT fan either...I could see them being about the same...But closer?...I think it's logical to accept a step back if you're moving on from Tyrod with a new HC...It's OK...Especially if the plan is to Draft a QB... Just saying...
  9. It does seem obvious does it not? Thing is...If that's the case I wonder what the plan is? I just can't see the Bills going the Vet route...IE...Romo, Cutler...So what I'm wondering is this...Has Whaley already sold the Pegs on taking a QB at 10? Or moving up to take one? God knows the guy just LOVES to trade away Draft picks...
  10. Maybe so... That brings up a whole bunch of added issues of course...Splitting time in camp, etc... If Lynn is the HC it would probably benefit Jones...If it's not Lynn and a new offensive system I imagine it would benefit whatever vet they bring in... We'll see I guess...
  11. As Bills fans...the way things seem to be going...I think we better get used to the idea of Cardale being option #1 for the 2017 season... We'll see of course...But it certainly looks to me that IF Tyrod is gone it's going to be Cardale's job to lose...
  12. Jones was my favorite player in the 2016 Draft...I realize some folks thought he was lazy...But like y'all said, men that big are not supposed to to be that athletic...And when Jones was dialed in he was dominate at Miss St...PFF's grades on him were sky high...He should have been a top 10 pick IMHO... I was just on my FB Scouting group reading and there was a couple KC fans talking about how Jones has played up and down their line this year and really allowed them flexibility...He's SO far from just a 0, or a 1...He can play anywhere on the line and be more than effective...If he's motivated he's a destroyer...
  13. Is it just me? Or does anyone else look at our needs, and the fact that we currently only have 6 picks, and...besides wanting to strangle Whaley... ....Realize a trade down, maybe a couple, is the best idea in 2017? I think there will be plenty there at #10 to entice teams to come up...And we need picks BAD...
  14. I'll go out on a limb and say he'll never last that long... I'm not saying he'll go top 5 either...We'll see...But Watson has too much upside for all 32 teams to pass once and a couple to pass twice...Someone is going to take a swing...
  15. I like McDermott...I've been in the Carolina's for the better part of the past 25 years...The Bills could do a lot worse... I like him better than Lynn at least...
  16. So screw them if they are so thinned skinned...Good grief what are we playing tiddlywinks here? We're looking for a Head Football Coach not a daycare counselor... There are only 32 of these jobs and someone with a backbone and true belief in his ability to lead men is going to come hard for this job...Let the crybabies go coach in San Fran...That's a good place for it...
  17. I think all this dysfunction talk aside...The fact that Lynn may not want the job is not going to bother many Bills fans... That's not to say the guy won't be a decent HC...But seriously...I realize guys have come from nowhere in the past...John Harbaugh, Mike Tomlin, etc...Does anyone here feel Lynn gives off that kind of vibe as a candidate? If they go with Lynn I'll trust the decision and move on to the prove it portion of the process...I'm not opposed to Lynn, nor am I excited...But I'm not going to lose a wink of sleep if Anthony Lynn does not want to be the Bills HC...I think the chances of him being a one-and-done guy are greater than the chances of him being the next Harbaugh, or Tomlin...
  18. I'm not disagreeing on the swinging deal...Mahomes cracked the 65% completions marker and anytime I see that I perk up a little...I need to watch a lot more of him... On a side note I had his dad for years in my Stratomatic baseball league...
  19. It's funny sometimes how we all bond...I was literally jumping up and down chanting Ngata! Ngata! Ngata!!! I was SO happy...Then the pick came in and I was crying...Many dogs were kicked that day... Not really...I love my dogs...
  20. This whole Tyrod deal reminds me of the week before the Cleveland game when I think most Bills fans knew Rex was gone...Then they thumped the worst team in the NFL, and some folks were arguing strong that Rex should return...Luckily we still had the Miami game for Rex to show us once again who he really is as HC... Tyrod's last game was arguably his best game as a Buffalo Bill...Sure if he plays like that he's worth the extension and there is absolutely no doubt about it...But does anyone want to bet on it? Forget about the injuries...They will almost always be a factor in one way or another...In Tyrod we have a player who has shown us exactly who he is over two seasons...He's been pretty consistent actually...And by no means is it all bad...But I think the very likely scenario ends up being that Tyrod gives us exactly what we have seen over these 29 games...Some real good, and some real bad...And if your goal is to win a Super Bowl do you want your highest paid player to be a QB who more than likely cannot get you there? I'm not saying it's an easy decision...I'm just saying...
