  1. When Gaily split carries last year people complained that he wasn't giving Spiller the ball enough. Now they complain that he's getting the ball in the middle of the field and not in space. NEWSFLASH: you can't have it both ways. You can't feed a guy the ball 20+ times a game in space. A guy you specifically get the ball in space is a change of pace back - a guy who splits carries. If Spiller can't handle getting the ball in the middle of the field he's not a "stud" he's Reggie Bush 2.0. It's interesting that Freddie can get positive yards in games when Spiller can't. Even when the blocking is horrible (and it was yesterday) Jackson manages to pick up 2, 3, 4 yards when nothing is there yet Spiller gets tackled for losses or no gain. Spiller has insane natural gifts but that doesn't make him a great back. He needs to learn how to play his position better because right now he's not a better back the FJ. He's more talented but not better.
  2. On both of Geno's long TD throws there was a Bill defender in his face and he got knocked to the ground. He didn't panic under pressure and delivered an accurate pass. I'll agree that he had time to throw most of the day though.
  3. I noticed you said Kiko, Lawson and Moats all played well yesterday. If that's the case who was responsible for the horrendous run D? It's not all on the DLine and the Bills have had weak run stopping LBs for the past several seasons and I see nothing that's changed. Kiko made some nice stops here and there but everybody else in the front 7 has been just horrible and Kiko was out of position on several plays too (though I'll cut him some slack.) People seem to have glossed over this with EJ's and Roger's struggles yesterday but the RUN D WAS HORRENDOUS ONCE AGAIN. Nothing, I repeat, nothing has been fixed. Yeah, I'm confused on this one too. Why were no receivers cutting off their routes when they saw pre-snap the Jets' were blitzing? They all went on go routes (which EJ would throw out of bounds.) At some point you have to give the kid another option. A slant, a curl - anything. Oh, and I'll add that it's interesting that after all this time and all these player additions that Fred Jackson is still the most consistent player on the field. He shows up every game when nobody else does.
  4. Rogers didn't cost them the game. He was bad, horrible actually, but the Bills played one of the worst all around games I've ever seen a team play. EJ was about as bad as I've seen a QB be, the OL wasn't any better at either opening holes for the running game or giving EJ time, Spiller danced his way to less than a yard per carry (while Freddie managed some positive gains...) and the D couldn't stop the run once again. This was a team meltdown not just one player.
  5. Hey, it's just one bad quarter!
  6. Considering I moved to London in January and the 4:25 game starts at 9:25 my time - yeah, I hate 'em. The Thursday night game vs. Cleveland will be even worse. The 8:25pm start will start at 1:25am and not end until nearly 5am. I, of course, plan on staying up and watching it live and going through my Friday like a zombie.
  7. So far this year Spiller has consistently gained little, nothing or negative yardage. Look at the numbers thus far: CJ has 33 total carries. 17 of these carries have gone for 2 or fewer yards. FJ has 26 total carries. 9 of these have gone for 2 or fewer yards. Consider that FJ gets the majority of the short yardage runs which figure into this as well and don't help this stat but it's still better than Spiller's. CJ has 3 carries which gained 10+ yards out of his 33 (2 or which went over 20) FJ has 4 carries which gained 10+ yards out of his 26 (none over 20) So yeah, CJ is a bigger threat for the long runs but is consistently putting the team in long situations worth those few gains? I don't know, but I do know I get frustrated seeing him dance in the backfield while gaining little or nothing. I do like his big play ability but I wonder why it comes at the cost of getting stuffed half the time. He just needs to stop trying to run everything outside, take what the D gives and he'd still get the big runs when there's a big hole and get gets to the 2nd level. His big gains rarely come from trying to get outside the tackles. They usually come from hitting the cutback lane. Imagine what he'd average per carry if he got rid of all these runs that get stuffed at the LoS. Not sure why you're laughing, the poster was right. Spiller gets stuffed at the line too much. At least in terms of what we've seen thus far.
  8. I said he has played all the snaps. Profootball Outsiders has complete stats on this, it's worth a look. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/snapcounts
  9. Do you really want to get into a discussion of all the ridiculous things the Bible forbids or condones?
  10. I was at the gym the other day and they played this video and it struck me just how bad it was. Just a horrible music video, even for an early attempt.
  11. There are lots of things that stand out to me about this story but the one I can't shake is how dumb are these kids to post pictures of themselves committing a crime? It's like kids can't go 5 minutes without posting an update about what they're doing and they never even stop to consider IF they should post it. I did plenty of bad things as a youth but I went out of my way to conceal that I did it. The last thing I would have done is announce it to the world. I guess I'll weigh in on the subject with a contrary POV. I have no issue with him collecting those photos and sending them to police but compiling a list of names of minors claiming they committed a crime and posting it publicly isn't a good idea. I'd say it's almost as stupid as the kids posting pics of themselves trashing a house. Who knows if his list is correct or if it only corresponds to who showed up in pictures or posts. Even then he could mis-identify someone in the picture. You're treading on dangerous ground when you start messing with minors - let the police handle it. If after their investigation the police find that he got a few names wrong I have no issue with those parents suing him. There's a reason we have a police force, let them do their job. That being said I think it's great he's reaching out to them and trying to get them to own up to what they did and help him set things straight. However he's going about it in the wrong way.
  12. Wha...This wasn't about Ladainian Tomlinson?
  13. Raiders fan. I'm not a fan of the "no" answer on blondes. Sure I like 'em, just not more than brunettes.
  14. One of the amazing things about Kiko is that he's played 100% of the Bills defensive snaps. As a rookie MLB in his first two games that's pretty amazing.
  15. It's called probability. If a team consistently pressures the QB - sack or not - the probability of a game changing play (or game winning stop) goes up. It's pretty simple and worth looking into. In addition, I like knowing who should really get credit for a play instead of just looking at who benefited on the stat sheet.
  16. The Bills have allowed the most points of any team in the AFC East. In fact, they've allowed 50% more points than any other team in the East. Only 5 teams in the conference have allowed more points than the Bills. They're ranked 18th in yards and 15th in points in the NFL. They've allowed teams - at the end of games - to move down the field and score points that caused a loss and the need for an unbelievable comeback. Are people really talking about Pettine as if he's on his to a HC job anytime soon? I agree with people - the D looks much improved from last year. But that's not the standard we should be holding him to. Success or failure is not related to whether he's better than Wannstedt. Of course he's going to be better. Am I encouraged? Absolutely, this D has the potential to be great, but it's nowhere near there yet. Why is it that people separate to the poles? Everything either has be be either FANTASTIC!!! or SUCK!!!
  17. Of course, the whole point of the Doomsday Machine is lost if you keep it a secret!
  18. People get all bent out of shape about things that are really quite simple. Byrd has a legit injury. He doesn't want to play with it and risk further injury with a one year contract. If he was under contract for a longer period of time I'm guessing he'd likely tough it out since he has the security of a long term deal. Since he doesn't have that security he's not taking the risk. It's not a conspiracy or some whiny wimp who is pouting. He's simply doing what he thinks is in his best interest and he's not going to risk his future earning potential without a security blanket. I'm sure most intelligent people would make the same choice if they were in his shoes.
  19. The end of the last game is one of the things that was most concerning. When the O needed the D to get the stop they allowed the Panthers to run off 6 minutes of the clock and gouge them for decent gain after decent gain. They ground the D down. It was only Rivera's decision to kick the FG instead of going for it on 4th and 1 that saved the day for the D. It was actually reminiscent of the week before when the D allowed big late runs by the Pats that allowed them to get close enough for a short FG to win the game. Hey, I'm happy with the progress the D has made overall but they have to fix the run D and fast. It's a big problem in general and is exacerbated when you have a hurry up offense who doesn't stay on the field long. It means the Bills D is out there getting ground down forever and eventually they break down at the end of games because they're so tired.
  20. True but the Jets' O goes against a D in practice that is very much like the Bills'. I'm not so sure Geno will be so surprised and rattled as most think. The X-factor here is how Manuel does in his first NFL road game. Winning on the road with a young team is hard as hell, even against bad teams. Unlike some posters I don't want Manuel to push the ball down field, I want him to play it safe and avoid the big turnover. If he does the Bills win.
  21. The D played well most of the game but let's not forget that the O bailed out the D at the end of the game. That's the way it should be. Each side picks the other up when they falter. Nice to see for a change.
  22. Yeah, let's hope EJ gets hit out of bounds late to set up a FG...
  23. This game - and last week's - make me hate the Pats all the more. Somehow they can play horribly for pretty much the entire game yet come away with a win. Hell, even when the Bills play well they lose.
  24. The Jets are filming that Patriots' practices?
