  1. My favorite play of the game was the WR screen to Gragg while Sammy blocks for him. If this isn't a OC outsmarting himself I don't know what is. Then again, after watching Gragg blow the easy block that would have gotten Freddie into the endzone earlier in the game I suppose they did use the better of the two blockers. All that being said overall it was a solid game plan by the Bills and while they certainly weren't perfect it's hard to fault much in a blow out win.
  2. You keep saying this and it's simply wrong. Do you really think that Gilmore is supposed to run with his man, keeping track of him while keeping an eye in the backfield towards the ball AND look up field and see where his safety is? No, he's supposed to play his role and believe that his teammates will do their jobs.
  3. Agreed. They need all the work they can get.
  4. The first time they were playing zone. It's not always man coverage...
  5. I'm just thankful we get to play them twice a year.
  6. Every time Gilmore allows a catch someone says the above. It's pretty hilarious. Apparently he shouldn't ever allow one.
  7. Yeah, both of those were nice.
  8. Does Orton ever throw an easy catch? Every pass has to be an amazing catch or it's incomplete. And then he looks mad when it's not caught.
  9. Isn't that why you should dislike someone? He acts like a little douche-bag and people dislike him. Go figure.
  10. Looked like he was playing zone and was passing him off to Williams. Can't really tell from the telecast though.
  11. Unless your name is Marcus Allen.
  12. How exactly with this offense should they be "crushing" them? The O can't score hence, there is no chance of "crushing." I have no clue what game some of you watch.
  13. When you get quality QB play you don't have to be perfect.
  14. How come EJ gets all the flack for struggling yet Orton seems to get a pass because of Hackett, the OL, WR drops, horrible TEs, etc. EJ had to work with all those things as well and did it with a small amount of experience to fall back on. Hell, he had a worse OL as he didn't have Urbik in there and Henderson was a completely raw rookie who at least now has a half a season's worth of experience. It's hilarious how people have all kinds of patience for Orton's struggles yet they have none for EJ. This is completely backwards. I have a whole hell of a lot more patience for the young QB learning on the job than for the vet. And who the hell cares about passing yards, I care about points. And with the exception of the 6 turnover aided Jets' game Orton leading the offense isn't putting up more points than the O led by EJ. Right now I don't mind EJ learning from the sidelines but unless there is a drastic change in the coming weeks from this offense I see no reason not to put him back in later in the year.
  15. I'm making peace with the idea that they won't make the playoffs in my lifetime.
  16. I don't want Marrone to go mostly because I don't want Schwartz to go and it's highly unlikely he stays on if a coaching change is made. With the talent on this D the last thing I want is a 3rd defensive system in 3 years. Hackett needs to go if he can't quickly get this offense turned around. I'm tired of the excuses or the "the fans don't see what we see" crap. I do see the exact same thing he sees - an offense that can't put up points. Everything else is just an excuse.
  17. Browns or Steelers. I'd lean towards the Steelers.
  18. Given the 5 hour time difference I'll be watching as quietly as I can from 1:30am-4:30am local time in hopes of not waking my family with angry rants at the TV. I'll be getting a grand total of 3 hours sleep. Ugh. I hate prime time games now that I live in London. Thankfully the Bills don't play too many of them and I'll only be here one more season.
  19. This game doesn't tell us if it's the same old Bills unless they lose. I can easily see a same old Bills scenario where they win the next two, give us all some hope sitting at 7-4 and then jump to a double digit lead vs. the Browns only to choke it away. Of course they'd go on to tank the last quarter of the season to finish 7-9 or 8-8. Bills' fans will somehow be pleased that they're listed as "in the hunt" when potential playoff teams are listed with a few weeks to go. To have any shot at the playoffs they pretty much have to win the next three. Anything less and I just don't see it given the ending schedule.
  20. While it's true the Bills have left two wins on the table they also stole two wins vs. Detroit and the Vikes so they're sitting right about where they deserve to be at 5-4. Of course, I'd much rather have the AFC wins. At some point you'd think they'd stop sitting where the deserve to be and steal a few more than they choke away.
  21. I don't know what they coach on a daily basis but what I do know is that this same stuff keeps happening to the Bills year after year while teams like the Pats rarely have it happen to them. Year after year guys on our team choke while guys on that team come up big in big spots. Is it luck?
  22. Bottom line is the D allowed 2 TDs in the 4th quarter when the team had a 10 point lead. Forcing a FG in either of those situations would have been huge. It didn't happen. Even if fans want to make excuses I guarantee you the players on the D aren't happy with their performance. The way I look at it is this, sure the D outperformed the O all game long. No argument here. They looked dominant. But at the end of the game two things would have won it for this Bills. 1) The offense putting it in the endzone or 2) the D stopping KC from getting into the endzone. Neither unit did what was needed to get the job done. Both of KC's units did exactly that for their team though - it's why they won the game.
  23. A hurt throwing shoulder and an injured ankle on a mobile QB means nothing? Yeah, okay. Watkins groin meant nothing too.
  24. You only play to get the ball back if you kick the FG as it's highly unlikely that you'll have time to march all the way down field with no timeouts and score a TD. A hail-mary is likely at the end of the game in this scenario. Moving 30 yards into FG range, on the other hand, is manageable. They should have kicked the FG but if they were going to go for it on 4th down they should have known that BEFORE 4th down and called plays that set them up for success in this scenario not 3 shots at the endzone and then going for it on 4th and 10. I was happy with the play calling for much of the day but the play calls at the end of the game weren't great given the situation.
