  1. Not sure I agree with Rex on this. I'm not sure the Colts inability to game plan for a specific QB is worth more than the starter getting as many reps with the #1s in camp as he possibly can.
  2. I love Dareus on the field but he's always struck me as incredibly immature. Doesn't he realize that this is how the game is played. Does he expect them to just throw money at him and not negotiate?
  3. The thing I like least about Taylor is how he wears his cap. I cringe every time they show him on the sideline with the bill flipped up.
  4. When Manziel was pressured he ended the game on a 1/7 streak. Not sure I'm seeing what you're seeing. I'll take the Bills vs. the Browns all day no matter who is starting at QB for either team.
  5. That corner pass was perfect. It's the type of throw we've seen him miss consistently in the past. Anybody saying he's not getting better isn't paying attention.
  6. Funny, I didn't see the starting CBs from Cleveland out there tonight.
  7. Yet the score at the end said Bills 11, Browns 10.
  8. My guess is EJ or Cassel starts next week then. No way Rex starts TT if he's trying to keep starter secret. Getting 2nd and 3rd starts in pre-season would pretty much say it all.
  9. I thought it was on the money until the last replay from behind. in that shot it was obvious it was underthrown.
  10. I wonder if this is the result of all the extra reps they get in practice with the two simultaneous fields? All the extra reps = more chances to get hurt.
  11. Yeah, but the general idea there is, "if he doesn't tow the line then we'll cut him and we didn't invest much." I don't think it occurred to anybody that his "not towing the line" would be killing several people.
  12. Surprise: Miller - you don't expect 3rd round Guards to be inserted immediately and shine. Disappointment: Harvin - I didn't want him on the team yet had hoped since they signed him he'd show his skills. Sitting on the sideline is one of the major knocks on the guy before this season.
  13. You would think being drafted in the 7th round would have already done that. Guys who continuously need somebody to motivate them don't last long in the NFL.
  14. Not sure what you're talking about in regards to your first point. That is not what I said at all. Not even close. And I don't have it backwards. In fact, I said pretty much what you said. Let it play out and see how he progresses. I don't agree we're at a cut bait point but - obviously - that's not for me to say. We'll see what the coaching staff thinks.
  15. Sure they are. People have said it numerous times, anybody can guess a QB will not end up being a franchise guy. It's what the percentages dictate. That doesn't mean you abandon your first round investment the moment things don't go well. If you don't want to sit through a young, struggling QB THEN DON'T DRAFT ONE IN THE FIRST ROUND. It's a wasted pick if you don't have the patience to see it play out. Not many people said EJ would end up being a franchise guy. All they wanted to do was to let him progress and see how it plays out. Not make an snap judgement right off the bat. No matter how it turns out the guys who were quick to judge don't look good. Why don't they look good? Because if it was so obvious that joe blow on a message board could see the kid would never turn into anything the coaches and GM would have cut bait immediately. They didn't do that. In fact, they gave the kid a chance to win the starting QB job. Why do that when it's so obvious that he'll never end up being a quality starter? Unless we're going to say that these hard line posters who hate him know more about the QB position than GMs and coaches...
  16. Which is a good case for the Bills keeping three. One of the very few teams where there likely wouldn't be much, if any, drop off from 1 through 3.
  17. As we've seen in practice the Browns don't have their starting secondary out there. That sounds even to me. What wouldn't have been a great evaluation was Watkins lining up opposite of Gaines and everybody going crazy that TT was hitting long gainers all night.
  18. Nobody becomes a "franchise QB" with one good season (take a look at RG3). So none of the QBs can do that this year.
  19. Totally uncalled for. The poster you're replying to wasn't disrespectful in the least bit.
  20. Well, there's that and there's also the entire part he just made up in his head about what's going on behind closed doors and how the coaches feel.
  21. I don't think they'll get rid of anybody. What I've thought for awhile is that either TT or EJ would win the starting spot and Cassel would be #2 (pretty much no matter what.) However, in the event of an injury I think that Cassel won't be anointed the starter but whomever is the #3 will leapfrog him. I think they like the vet presence in the locker and film rooms and trust him more to come off the bench in a game if need be but with a whole week of preparation they'd prefer to go with one of the younger guys who bring more to the table.
  22. I wondered at the beginning of training camp whether the two field, simultaneous drills would result in more injuries as the players would be getting way more reps. Who knows if it actually has but yeah, the list is growing and we haven't even hit the 2nd pre-season game yet. Thankfully, only one of the injuries the Bills have sustained is season ending.
  23. If the C snaps the ball before the QB is ready it's pretty much always on the C. It's the QB who calls for the ball and tells the C when to snap it unless it's a silent count. There would be no need for a silent count at a pre-season home game.
  24. Wait, are we allowed to talk about Gilmore? I mean, he's not in the QB competition... And no, Gilmore is not Revis. He has more in common with Sherman than Revis. Revis isn't a particularly physical corner, he uses his smooth hips and play recognition to stay in the WRs back pocket. Gilmore and Sherman are in your face, physical corners who love to move the WR off their route to disrupt the play. It's a tricky line they have to ride to ensure they don't get flagged with penalties. What Gilmore needs to improve at (and something Sherman is great at) is getting his head around when the ball is in the air. The refs are pretty forgiving of contact if the CB is looking back towards the ball but the flag tends to fall out of their pocket if the CB doesn't. Gilmore got much better at this last season and if he can keep progressing he can be a top tier CB. He's not quite there yet but the guy has been very good in stretches. So, no, Gilmore isn't Revis, but he doesn't need to be. There are other ways of playing the position that are equally effective.
  25. So what does everybody think of the "look at me!!" element of this story that is being ignored? I guess we are so used to it at this point that we hardly notice it. It would be one thing if he simply had the boys return the trophies and that was that. But no, he must let the entire world know where he stands on this issue, take pics of the trophies and post them, all because he thinks he is a special snowflake that deserves attention for his stance on this important issue. To me, this part of society, where everything must be posted on line in an attention grab (which is another way for people to try and feel "special") is much more of an issue with society than a 6 and 8 year old getting some participation award. "Look at me, I had salmon for dinner!" "Look at me, I bought a new car!" "Look at me, I'm a better parent than you!" The 6 and 8 year olds don't get to feel special, but their daddy does.
