Only game I saw there was OJ's rookie year against the Bengals in a total blizzard. I was very little but I don't think I've ever seen a game since played in more snow. Harry Jacobs had the game-winning TD when he stripped the ball from Greg Cook and ran into the end zone, but we couldn't tell what was happening, just saw Bills players jumping up and down.
Russ Brandon & his crew aren't going anywhere, the futility will continue until Pegs wakes up... and if JP can get an UFL ring, EJ can win an Arena League playoff game.
It's 16 years... SIXTEEN YEARS.
As much abuse as Rex gets around here, I for one love him for bringing Tyrod to town. Can't wait to watch him this year, IMO all hope for the immediate future is riding on his shoulders. As for the rookie draft picks on D, I won't get excited about them until they show something on the field.
Pistons got old, and the NBA and their refs helped make Chuck Daly's Jordan Rules (great book!) no longer valid. Before that, Jordan may have gotten points, but the Bad Boys gave him a beating on the floor. Good for him though, I don't think he would've been as great without it.
Jordan didn't come into the league clutch. Pistons beat him like a dog until he finally learned what it takes to win. Like MJ, I think LeBron may have taken that next step this year. Yeah, he had 2 rings before, but nothing like this. When all is said and done, I don't think there's any doubt he will deserve a spot on the Mt. Rushmore of basketball.
FWIW, that's what word on the street was here in Baltimore.
As for Monroe, he's a couple steps above a Chris Williams, and that's about it. Just because he was a 1st-round draft pick doesn't mean he's any good. No one here wanted him back, and everyone wanted LT upgraded from him.
They interviewed him on Baltimore FAN radio here a few weeks ago. Ed sounded like a major pothead on the air as always. They were giving him good-natured hell for going to Buffalo, and Ed's like "Whatever." He didn't elaborate too much at all about the new gig, other than to say everyone's looking good.
I do think he's a great addition though, this team needs more people like him who know what it takes to win in this league.
Yeah, that's bad choice of wording on my part. My point is that if an undesirable result occurs, you should correct all factors that caused it to happen, cut your losses early, and just move on, what's done is done.
At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter how EJ was developed. If the coaches do a bad job, get rid of them. If the QB is bad as a result, get rid of him too. Any real GM doesn't keep a player on the team just because he feels sorry for him.
Poor Pegs.
I must thank Rex though for Richie, Roman, and especially TT. Even if the front office is floundering as always, at least we finally have a QB with the obvious and easy-to-see potential to be great. As such, I am psyched for this season to watch how TT progresses.
