  1. Pistons got old, and the NBA and their refs helped make Chuck Daly's Jordan Rules (great book!) no longer valid. Before that, Jordan may have gotten points, but the Bad Boys gave him a beating on the floor. Good for him though, I don't think he would've been as great without it.
  2. Jordan didn't come into the league clutch. Pistons beat him like a dog until he finally learned what it takes to win. Like MJ, I think LeBron may have taken that next step this year. Yeah, he had 2 rings before, but nothing like this. When all is said and done, I don't think there's any doubt he will deserve a spot on the Mt. Rushmore of basketball.
  3. Whaley may put his foot down on this one again ala EJ last year.
  4. San Diego didn't lose the Braves to Buffalo. Buffalo is a clear #1 IMO.
  5. FWIW, that's what word on the street was here in Baltimore. As for Monroe, he's a couple steps above a Chris Williams, and that's about it. Just because he was a 1st-round draft pick doesn't mean he's any good. No one here wanted him back, and everyone wanted LT upgraded from him.
  6. Lombardi or Belichick. Best fit for this franchise though is Bobby The Brain Heenan.
  7. They interviewed him on Baltimore FAN radio here a few weeks ago. Ed sounded like a major pothead on the air as always. They were giving him good-natured hell for going to Buffalo, and Ed's like "Whatever." He didn't elaborate too much at all about the new gig, other than to say everyone's looking good. I do think he's a great addition though, this team needs more people like him who know what it takes to win in this league.
  8. Yeah, that's bad choice of wording on my part. My point is that if an undesirable result occurs, you should correct all factors that caused it to happen, cut your losses early, and just move on, what's done is done.
  9. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter how EJ was developed. If the coaches do a bad job, get rid of them. If the QB is bad as a result, get rid of him too. Any real GM doesn't keep a player on the team just because he feels sorry for him.
  10. Poor Pegs. I must thank Rex though for Richie, Roman, and especially TT. Even if the front office is floundering as always, at least we finally have a QB with the obvious and easy-to-see potential to be great. As such, I am psyched for this season to watch how TT progresses.
  11. Seems that some think he would undermine Russ Brandon and Doug Whaley, and all the great work they have done to bring winning football to town. Those people deserve them.
  12. You must not remember EJ's last drive in London. Plenty of time left to still win the game, but unfortunately, Jax was no longer playing prevent D by then.
  13. Even if his role changed, the chump he hired is still the GM. Continuity of failure.
  14. Russ Brandon and the chumps he hired who are still there say hi.
  15. Football Basketball Baseball Pro Wrestling Hockey National Spelling Bee
  16. IMO Buffalo has only one major sport to Cleveland's three. If you want to count lower-tier sports, Bandits won titles before. I give the nod to Cleveland here.
  17. I think he should've been cut after London during the bye week. If that happened to the Pats, BB might not have let him get on the plane home. Right now? I would cut him today. Plenty of time between now and Week 1 to find a care-taker QB who hasn't shown any similar signs of major meltdowns. You want a name? I would trust Josh Johnson before I would trust EJ to start a game. I'd rather take a chance on the unknown rather than dealing with a proven failure. I don't think I want DW involved in picking the replacement though, let Roman give him a list of candidates to bring in and then make the final decision.
  18. Yep. If TT gets hurt this year and the Bills miss the playoffs thanks to the disaster of the backup QB, all fingers of blame need to point to DW for not correcting his mistake, and the press is just lining everything up now in the event that scenario plays out.
  19. No playoffs this year? Get rid of anyone that directly worked for Ralph and the people these lifers hired, and truly start anew. As stated by Leroi above: That's the tried-and-true Russ Brandon formula. If the team does somehow end up winning, great,,, if it doesn't, oh well, we did the best we could and brought in a lot of money. I do believe that sooner or later, Pegs will wake up, get serious about winning, and bring in someone who knows how to truly run an NFL organization. I don't know when that happens though, but when/if it does, I think it will coincide with major fan unrest.
  20. Agreed, the press is more of an annoyance now then anything. Pegs is sleeping now, that's why there's no accountability and no sense of urgency at OBD. If they don't make the playoffs this year without totally tanking, "Oh well, we tried, what bad luck...next year's the year, Pegs"..Change after this season only happens IMO if the fanbase gets as loud as the press; that may wake him up.
  21. There's no accountability at OBD to be seen. The team sucks or is mediocre at best year after year AFTER YEAR, and the same chumps are still running the team, la-de-da.. I applaud the local media for the well-deserved thrashing they give this organization. If OBD wants to stop the bad press, feel free to start winning.
  22. Agree 100%. I can get more current info from scanning BBMB thread titles than I can in here, and that never used to be the case, not even close.
