  1. It's not all about EJ but you need to find out if he can learn and improve.. He needs to get significantly better by the end of the season. If the Bills finish with less than 5 wins there will be plenty of competition for him in next years camp. How long has Cam Newton been in the league? He looks pretty good right now. Kappernick who started fast - not so much. Russell Wilson who we all know is too short to play QB looks about 6' 9" to me right now. The only thing the fans need to worry about right now is the Jets.
  2. They can walk proudly this week. They are undefeated in the Mack rolling over everyone they played to date. They have two losses this season to teams that will be ranked in the top 5 in the Nation. Baylor and Ohio State. They need to avoid a let down against a good Toledo team.
  3. Friday November 29th UB vrs Bowling Green will likely decide the MAC East. Bowling green also has an excellent team and beat Miami by 40 pts this week. November 29th Rich Stadium a 1:30 start. Tickets are dirt cheap bring the whole family. This is an opportunity to show the Nation that Buffalo can be a big time college football town.
  4. Congrats to the Bulls headed for their best season ever!
  5. Yep, I understood that, anyone who is smart enough to do the analysis is smart enough to understand the odds of it happening Nice work I enjoyed the post!
  6. I agree with the BPA although I do think some positions have more value than others. I think with linebackers if you get one with great pass rushing ability that guy is a game changer. I do think that Mack might fit that description. I agree that TE is very high on the needs list and would really help this team to put two viable TE's on the field at the same time. On this team the TE's need to block because Spiller is often a block away from putting 6 on the board. The offensive line need is great as well.
  7. I appreciate the work that the OP put into this thread but I do not see playoffs this year. A successful season in my mind would be wins over the Jets, Dolphins and Pats. Even if the Pats had nothing to play for. The first step to success is beating the teams in your Division. It is imperative that the Bills gain ground on the AFC East. Give me those three wins and I will declare a successful season.
  8. The replays are getting too long and the rule really needs to be changed. Two rules need to be amended. If a player brings the ball to the ground in bounds but clearly protects the ball from hitting the ground the pass should be a completion and a dead ball at the spot. It should not matter if the ball is moving or if it comes out. The second rule change should be the same as the college rule for dead ball. If the ball carriers knee hits the ground it's a dead ball. Injuries would be reduced replay time outs would be shortened. The result would be far less replays and challenges.
  9. Winston is not better than EJ. Watched the Miami game he threw 2 bad picks. Winston is a very good though especially for a freshman who will not be coming out next year anyway. What Winston has going for him is a really great football team with (4) outstanding receivers who really compete for the ball even if it's not on the money. Did I mention he has an excellent running game along with a dominating offensive line and a Defense to go along with it. The 2 picks he threw became speed bumps on the way to a blowout over Miami.
  10. I understand what you are writing but it could not be more wrong. Every player has a job and needs to do his own job. It was Johnson's job to get open, he did it. The way to help his QB was to do his job not try to guess what his QB was thinking. Poor teams screw up when players try to do too much and start thinking instead of preforming. Football is a game of discipline. A receiver helps a QB best by getting open in a spot where the QB can get him the ball and then catching it when it gets there.
  11. A combination of Tuel and the entire receiving corps lost this game they were awful except for our speed guy. Scott Chandler had critical drops. Graham had the obvious fumble for -6 . Johnson didn't do enough Easley blew his chance with a horrific drop. Woods had chances to make great plays but fell short. It's a shame because the game plan was solid on offense and defense. Spiller and Jackson were terrific in spite of injuries. The offensive line was outstanding and the Defense didn't give up a TD. The bad news is that we are falling behind the AFC East in spite of some great efforts. I think Tuel has the potential to make a living in this league his arm needs to get stronger. Tuel might want to go to the Canadian league for a couple of years and then come back down. Pro football needs a minor league for a guy like Tuel.
  12. It will be a major victory for Tuel and the Bills offense if they finish the game without him suffering an injury and they win the turnover battle.
  13. I don't think it is too early to be thinking about players who can help this team. It's part of the fun of following a team and being a fan. I don't think it is an indication of giving up on the season either. There are many ways to enjoy being the fan of a team especially one that has not been "elite" for more than a decade.
  14. If a QB falls to you in the draft taking him is not a terrible strategy. There is a rookie salary cap in place so the situation is not what it used to be. Having two good QB's trading one is always an option.
  15. Root for the Bills bet the Chiefs and give the points!
  16. I think you draft or sign promising free agent running backs every year. That being said the Bills cannot afford a RB with one of the top three or four picks. I think the Bills will draft in the middle of the first round of the draft. The first pick should be a guy that will make a pro bowl sometime in the first contract. They just might find a local guy in LB K Mack here who might fall a little because of the strength of his competition. You can never go wrong with a player who can rush the passer and spend a lot of time in the other guys back field. After number one they need to find offensive line help and a first rate Tight End to complement Chandler who in my opinion is a number 2 not a number one TE. I do think that EJ would thrive in a system that used a lot of double TE or H Back formations if one of them was a good blocker.
  17. Blocking.... Blocking....Blocking When the rush is in your face it does not matter who your QB is.
  18. The Bills offensive line was horrible on some of those plays and Chandler whiffed completely on one of the sack fumbles. I thought that no one could have done better than Lewis given the pressure and the beating he took. We need a Guard a Tackle and a second Tight End (who can block as well as Catch the ball downfield)
  19. What we think does not matter a wit. The Bills will have two chances to answer the question that you posed. The answer will be so loud that speaking will not be necessary.
  20. Geno is playing great really throwing darts. That being said he is playing pitch and catch there is zero pass rush. The Jets O line is solid. I still like EJ over Smith but I do think the Bills have lost ground to both the Jets and Miami in overall team strength. The Bills are number four in a four team division.
  21. I would not sign him just yet but I would bring him in for a look. I might bring Leinart in for another look too.
  22. Coaches call absolutely. None of us really know the dynamics or the facts of this situation. We have a right to speculate but that is all it is. I would be somewhat reluctant to break up the chemistry of that group but if Byrd is a big improvement he goes in. I would think twice about starting him though.
