  1. Time will tell...have to hope McBeane learn from mistakes and correct themselves. One thing I know is...Belichick was nothing without Brady. Right, CB? I kid, I kid.
  2. Kansas City manages to get it done, but they are a well-run organization with a superior roster vision. So much so that they entered the 2023 off-season as defending SB champions with 14M in cap space. Of course, it requires bold moves to accomplish of which trading Tyreek Hill was one. I vividly remember people here claiming that KC would not be nearly as good the following season. So much for that. The built-in excuse that having a franchise QB makes roster development exceedingly difficult is absurd. Economy of resources is the key, and the Bills waste assets on RB's, middling DL, and other overpaid UFAs. I'm glad to see more people here begin to doubt the PR efforts of McBeane who, backed into a corner, are offering weak responses as to why they can't fly with the best AFC teams.
  3. The RB mis-handling is a contributing cause of their cap problems. Not a root cause. The DL prioritization under McD's to include overpaid and undereffective UFA's along with pedestrian draft picks are another contributing cause though, yes. Their cap issues were not minor.... they were 19.6M over the cap before all the re-structures, good for 26th in the NFL.
  4. The Bills took 2 off-seasons to fix cap issues from the previous regime and put themselves right back there 4 seasons later If people want to understand why, a lack of vision on draft day is a contributing cause to that issue. Singletary and Moss cost RD3 picks, albeit were on rookie contracts. They ultimately replaced both with veterans in Harris and Hines who cost more in cap than a rookie contract player would. They continue doubling down at RB and then cry how they're cap poor. In 7 off-seasons, they've re-signed McCoy, signed UFAs like Tolbert, DiMarco, Ivory, Gore, Yeldon, Breida, and now Harris. All while using 3 top-100 picks on RBs. Is it that hard to identify a player in the 4th-7th rounds or via UDFA that can offer production on a rookie contract so they can start investing in WR's at the top of the draft? It shouldn't be, but then again RD1 seems reserved for QB's and defensive players.
  5. Scott...why do you have to be such a buzzkill and let the cat out of the bag? We're celebrating RB signings to set up more defense in RD1 for goodness sakes! Come on dude.
  6. McD is in the room...like he is during all off-season. In fact, his vision is how you end up going defense in RD1 the past 5 out of 7 years of his tenure. And there are some long-time posters here seeing it could be 6 out of 8.
  7. Yeah...Beane's free agency prowess this off-season really gives him a leg up in the Executive of the Year award for 2023. On offense alone the haul of two WR3/4 types, a guard, and now a RB speak to that in volumes. Especially considering they pushed more cap down the road to get themselves into a position to sign these guys. He'll solidify the award when they go safety or LB in Round 1.
  8. Bills lead the league in taking the best player available at a position of defense. It could well go down that way after the CB, RB, LB sequence last year. I'd imagine he's pretty stoic about that.
  9. And a GM who went along with that roster building strategy, didn't pound the table for more offense, and spent heavily on middling UFAs that did not offer value. Perhaps there's a few moves left and they're learning off the last couple off-seasons. Who knows.
  10. Much of this decision depends on which role they want him to play. If he's their idea of competition at WR2, well, not ideal. If he's a WR4/5 type who'll play special teams, great. Most people expected a higher-level WR signing before the draft, i.e. not an unproven rookie, who would give Buffalo a complement to Diggs who they acquired 3 years ago. It's not unreasonable to be disappointed with acquisitions who clearly aren't putting them alongside Cincinnati, Kansas City, or their primary AFC competition.
  11. Upgrading WR4-5 is not a major impact to the offensive talent. Bills liked him so much they gave him a 1 year deal. Not a ringing endorsement. Games 12-16: 9 receptions for 137 yards, 0 TD's, 16 targets. Not active in Week 17; took 48 offensive snaps in playoff game at Buffalo - 0 targets. Hopefully this season Dorsey will give Davis the ability to separate, run more than 2-3 patterns, and make contested catches.
  12. Amazing that they are only starting to understand this after KC and CIN showed offensive speed is not optional the past 3 seasons. Which also make their reported interest in a big back make less sense, but that's another McBeanie non-sequitur.
  13. https://www.buffalobills.com/news/takeaways-as-gm-brandon-beane-looks-ahead-to-the-2021-offseason The GM himself said after the 13 seconds game your last game says a lot about what's wrong with your roster. And that holds true for the 2022 season. Observant posters saw and commented on the lack of WR depth and issues along the OL heading into last season. Offensive skill talent speed has been an issue for a couple seasons now along with over-investment into the defense which lacks scheme versatility. Maybe McBeane up their game from the last 2 off-seasons and figure how to construct a roster that isn't cap poor and gets value. Maybe they support Josh more this season...but the last 2 end of season losses spoke volumes about where they were.
  14. Probably the home loss to Indianapolis on 11/21/21. Bills defense made a stop late in the 2nd quarter and Indy kicked a FG to make it 17-7. McKenzie fumbled the ensuing KO back to the Colts who scored a couple players later to go into the half up 24-7. Buffalo lost 41-15.
  15. It stinks that Dorsey had him not run out of bounds at Miami. Or double catch passes. Or just be a situationally unaware player.
  16. I'm not going to debate message board etiquette with you. If you can't understand that there's responsibility as a good poster to engage people within a thread you created then I'm sorry. Take the constructive criticism and move on. Or not. It's up to you.
  17. I have observed a trend with threads you start in that you never re-enter to discuss. It's just throw a subject out, let others debate, and then go away. The discussion and debate around Edmunds has continued ad nauseam to the point it's asinine The team made a business decision on a player that, yes they selected high, but who provided less than ideal value at a position of lesser importance. He was a matchup disadvantage for that defense and those who used bulk stats always missed that. He was not the player they envisioned to him to be. Edmunds the player is the first example that fans cannot have everything (player-wise) you want and that includes players drafted. Eventually the cap must be managed and they're doing it. Right or wrong, that's the issue.
  18. Yeah...start a thread with your opinion, let others debate, and then never return to engage with those who replied. If you believe something enough to start a thread then have the common decency to defend your argument. If not, I'll assume you didn't think it through much.
  19. I'd like to see the bets made on Buffalo right now from those pointing to Vegas odds as evidence this team is better. Because I wouldn't make that wager after re-signing Poyer, then signing a UFA guard, backup QB, and diminutive WR with speed. Gonna take a lot more than that.
  20. The same guys who put this team into that cap situation are the ones people here hope will acquire new players and build a better offense. Jury's out on McBeane. That would be a bold move...but I could see McD only willing to part with one of his hand-picked highly drafted guys this off-season.
  21. Whenever I see threads like this it reminds me that most people do not have or want to have a continuous improvement mindset to life. It also reminds me somewhat of the movie Hoosiers when Myra Fleener says, "I've seen them, the real sad ones. They sit around the rest of their lives talking about the glory days when they were seventeen years old." It's real nice the Bills were in the playoffs the last 4 seasons...but those days are past. It's time to look forward, yeah get excited, but demand excellence in next season and beyond. As much as I remember the 90s Bills, that was 30 years ago. Heck 2020 was 3 years ago already!
  22. When Mike Brown and John Lynch and crew are out-wizarding you, something's wrong. Maybe they're working on something, who knows, but early returns are not promising. Reeks of more of the same packaged as different.

  24. Real question is how many threads will be opened up to sign one of these RBs? I'd guess avminimum 3.
