Maybe the Jets or Miami. That's a pretty tough road schedule, when you realize Andrew Luck will be back with the Colts. If the Bills come out of the pre-season looking strong I will alter this prediction. If not you can tell me, "I told you so, you idiot" when they win 10 games.

This. Add in some of the (I believe) questionable roster moves he made last season, and there are reasons to question his judgment. Judging him really does depend heavily on whether the Allen choice works out.

Wow. It really looks, on paper, that Allen is headed for bust territory. It's worrying that whenever people start discussing him, the arguments in his favor sound increasingly desperate. Hope is not a plan.

We should all do our jobs. Who's going to argue with that? Nobody's going to say they aren't doing their job. But what that means is subject to interpretation, as all such slogans are.

I am on record as being unhappy the way many Bills fans have turned "the Process" into holy words that excuse all decisions, but you make as good a case as can be made for this regime. And despite my lack of confidence in the choice of Allen, Beane & Co. were right to pull the trigger and take a shot at drafting a possible franchise QB. If they picked the wrong guy, it was still the right thing to do, and I expect they will suck it up and look for an alternative if that becomes evident. We just have to see how it plays out.

And he can't hit the broad side of a barn. The one thing I would think we would have figured out over the last twenty seasons of QB play in Buffalo, given Losman, Fitz, EJ, Tyrod, etc., is that ACCURACY is vastly more important to successful QB play than arm strength or height or escapability. The Bills drafted the one QB of those touted for the first round who has the most trouble with accuracy. If he is successful, I will come here and say I was wrong.

This is the thing that has just driven me crazy about McDermott and Beane from day one: their conviction that they are the smartest guys in the room. Their continual insistence that we should "trust the process" which is simply a mystical smokescreen for "trust our decisions no matter whether they make any sense." I think Allen will be a huge bust and, as you say, that they will be out of here in three years.

Wow. That article is devastating. I was very skeptical before, and granted this is one person's opinion (though apparently lot of others see the same problems), but this suggest the Bills are headed for a major disappointment. From day one I have not been impressed with Beane's personnel decisions. This one could be the one that sets the Bills back years and defines his tenure as a GM--and shortens it.

They should probably take the shot, but they will indeed pay the price if whoever they pick is a bust. Look at the grief Whaley got on Manuel (who did not cost them much of anything--they traded DOWN and got him, and Robert Woods in the bargain) and on moving up to draft Watkins. No matter how justified--and after the years of bad QB play the Bills have suffered, it is definitely justified--drafting the wrong QB will define Beane and McDermott. Especially since they dumped a lot of talent to obtain these draft picks in the first place. This is not a strong roster right now.

If I hear "The Process" one more time, I will go homicidal. To this day I have heard no rational explanation of what "The Process" (cue heavenly choir singing hosannahs) is other than "we do it our way, stop questioning it." This is no different than any other management team in football. The proof is in the personnel and coaching choices made by the GM and coaching staff. McDermott in my opinion has earned some respect from the results he got last season; Beane I am more skeptical about, though I expect they are on the same page about the big decisions so six of one, half dozen of another. Clearly Beane & McDermott's plan was to get rid of everybody who was on this team before they took over, regardless of talent level and productivity, stockpile draft choices and build their own team essentially from scratch. They want "their guys" and they've gotten them. Fine. But I don't see how anybody can look at the Bills roster and not at least have some misgivings about what we see. Maybe an adequate offensive line with drop from the skies in the first week of June and they will hit on every draft choice or the QB they trade up for will start like a house afire. But from this corner of the room, it will be a miracle if they win five games next season. That's fine too, if they have built the foundation of a better team, but the proof of that has yet to be seen.
