  1. Indeed. The poorest region of the world isn't Malawi, the most over-crowded isn't anywhere in Asia, the most oppressed isn't North Korea, and the richest part of the world isn't Singapore, Qatar, or Luxembourg.
  2. And how many of those French civilians enjoying a night out at a concert, shopping, or having dinner deserved to die? You miserable SOB. You must be a hoot at funerals
  3. You can tell him that I really enjoyed his book 'Things That Matter'.
  4. Plagiarist. So you designed one to actually be an idiot?
  5. More Yale student crybabies: When the hell did they start that annoying finger-snapping that the beatniks used to do at coffee houses?
  6. Anyone who watches South Park knows that Parker & Stone frequently take on social issues currently in the news, but season 19 has done so in a much more direct fashion than ever before. From Donald Trump and Caitlyn Jenner to body shaming, urban revitalization, and the PC takeover in schools, South Park has begun a direct assault on many of the 'modern sensibilities' we argue about here daily. Since it first aired in 1997, South Park has been my favorite show - which I realize says more than a little about my own sense of humor. They began writing the episodes with a sense of continuity last year, with each show leading into the next, or elements of several prior episodes resurfacing in later episodes. This year - season 19 - is being written in the same fashion, but with a focus on the idiocies of political correctness that is beyond refreshing to see. The townspeoples' desire to become progressive; luring Whole Foods to town, renaming Kenny's house SodoSopa (south of downtown South Park) and surrounding it with high end restaurants in an effort to gentrify the 'bad neighborhood', the firing of Principal Victoria and replacing her with a just-out-of-liberal-arts-school-frat-boy type named PC Principal, a fat-shaming presentation at the school hosted by a tear-stricken Steven Seagal, are just a small part of what's been lampooned, and with 3 more episodes yet in the season, there's sure to be more. I know South Park isn't for everybody. It's just as crass as ever, but more and more I see that their sensibilities, Parker's especially, are much like my own. I think a lot of people here would enjoy it too. Definitely NSFW: Even harsher - Reality crashes the fundraiser:
  7. We should bomb China and India for their wanton disregard for the Earth by pumping so many pollutants into our air and water.
  8. You aren't offering an opposite opinion, you're trolling. You add nothing to the discourse aside from name calling and taunts. You are an immature fool, and you would greatly increase the credibility of your political causes if you just went away.
  9. 68 is too young - RIP Mr Hansen.
  10. An apparent majority view hasn't caught up to your way of thinking, and the issue is everyone else?
  11. Campaign finance? Is that what your takeaway was? Have what devoted to medical research?
  12. Thanks for posting that. It's refreshing to hear something like that coming out of the Senate.
  13. At least the girl at 1:52 had the sense to not comment, saying that she didn't know what it was. It's sad, but the truth is that if you put a microphone in front of most people, they'll say all kinds of stupid crap, and think that they're being either intelligent or pragmatic in doing so.
  14. Nothing you say here is unreasonable, and I agree with you to a large extent. I have my own personal biases, one of which is that I'm sick to death of the same old-same old with regard to Washington insiders and career politicians. Obviously, many others feel the same as I do, and the fact that both Carson and Trump are leading in the polls have all the pundits completely flummoxed. If the office of the Presidency wasn't such an important position to hold, then the current situation would be amusing.
  15. It's rumored that there may be liquid water on Earth.
  16. Ah, the spastic Yorkie returns.
  17. Okay, fair enough - I never think to include government spending as part of the GDP. But I can tell you this for sure - you'd better take both Carson and Trump very seriously. Whether you like them or not, they each resonate with a large segment of the republican party and the right in general who are completely fed up with the policies of the establishment republicans. Don't misunderstand me - my personal favorites among the bunch are Cruz, Christie, and Rubio. The 'experienced' republicans lag in the polls because they're being associated with the establishment, while Carson & Trump have tapped into the same frustration the gave rise to the TEA party factions.
  18. I was thinking that one of those coupled with a trench coat would make for a seriously amusing Halloween costume.
  19. What is the difference between an across the board flat tax of 15% on all earnings, and 15% of GDP? Just out of curiosity, what's so 'simpleton' about a flat tax?
  20. I'm not saying anything about what most - or any for that matter - Europeans think. In fact, I was only asking because you condescended to Keukasmallies about not quoting what that one guy who he met in Belgium thinks, and then presume to speak for a plurality of Europeans regarding their dispositions toward Bush/Obama. Unless you've held conversations with various Europeans on the subject, then you may want to walk back your criticisms of perceived bias in others.
  21. I take it you frequently spend time in Europe?
