  1. Misunderstanding a simple five-sentence paragraph is a child's mistake. "Non-establishment" politicians like Cruz get their political clout from large segments of their party who are sick and tired of their political leaders caving on issues in order to "get along", "become popular", or to be "liked" by the press. It's as simple as that. If you take anything I've posted, in any thread, about anybody as being an endorsement of their candidacy, then you're completely misunderstanding my words. A successful president needs to be able to do a hell of a lot more than "make deals".
  2. If you want to really rile him up, just remind him that we are endowed by our creator with unalienable human rights.
  3. Who here has stated anything other than contempt for Slavery?
  4. As if the majority of the public even remembers anything from two years ago.
  5. I'd bet you could still profit from an investment like that, especially if Hillary wins.
  6. I personally have no problem with any practice or displays of any religion on public grounds. We are a diverse nation, and our public institutions should reflect that.
  7. Quite likely you're right. In less than two weeks, Texas will become the 32nd state to allow open carry. And there's a whole lotta guns in Texas.
  8. To my knowledge, none of those monuments honor a dishonorable movement, but instead honor people who died heroically in battle. The fact that we all agree that the issue of slavery is reprehensible is another matter. Getting rid of monuments enumerating the Ten Commandments and eliminating prayers in schools, and then claiming that the left are championing diversity?
  9. One big irony is that Obama is doing more for gun sales than any other president in my lifetime, and probably ever.
  10. What a terrible shame. My condolences - thoughts and prayers for your family.
  11. Nixon was more like the modern Dems too. I'm not sure if that's a bad thing or a good thing.
  12. When I was very young, a Democrat POTUS said "My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country". A lot can change over the course of one lifetime.
  13. If that's logic, then it's terrible logic. If it's sarcasm, it's seriously pathetic. I was actually looking for an honest answer. Apparently I still am.
  14. I suppose we all have our own ways of comparing candidates with former presidents. If I was to say, I'd say that Huckabee seems the most Reaganesque to me. Trump certainly has the showmanship quality though.
  15. You wouldn't even know that there were any Democrat debates at all if you just watched the news and read the papers.
  16. No way - they smoke cigarettes and eat fatty food.
  17. Personally, I'd take Reagan by a mile over the others. And Clinton, too - he was at least enough of an egotist to allow for a little pragmatism in working with Newt.
  18. You do a pretty good job at making statements, not discussing them with anyone, and then getting mad at all the 'ignorant pinheads' who disagree with you. I'd still be interested in hearing how the United States wasn't being traitorous to the crown by rebelling to form our own nation, yet the Confederacy were being traitorous by rebelling in order to form their own nation.
  19. I was thinking Jimmy Carter, but you've got a point.
  20. And thus my preference for someone like a former Governor to be President. Even then, that doesn't always work out either.
  21. If by that statement you are saying that both PC America and racist hate groups are closed-minded, hateful, and obsolete, then we agree. On the other hand, if you mean that PC America is somehow ridding our society of intolerance, then we have an argument.
  22. Indeed. Why put on such of show of needing to stick to the budget for a change? Or to try to sink an unpopular piece of legislation by filibuster? What the republicans need to do is learn how to compromise with the democrats. After all, the democrats always compromise with the republicans.
  23. That's pretty weak. I never said anyone was actually trying to destroy history. You don't seem to be able to see a connection in the logic of PC America's cries to tear that thing down because it offends me and the radical Islamists' cries to tear that thing down because it offends me.
