  1. That was awesome! I didn't really get the imagery association with the subject matter, but who cares? Thanks for sharing that - I have a friend that will laugh so hard at this that he's likely to be hospitalized. I'll be grinning over this all day long.
  2. I like to have a little faith - I was extremely leftist when I was that age, clinging angrily to a very idealistic mindset and frustrated at the world for not falling into step. I got over it. I think a lot of the current crop of snowflakes will eventually come around too, once life has had a chance to beat a little sense into them. Watching them go through those life experiences will be immensely entertaining though.
  3. I would literally pass out from laughter.
  4. Fake news meets fake hate. They're marginalizing themselves at an increasingly accelerated pace. Pretty soon all they'll have left are drones like PJ, Gator, and Meat.
  5. Same with Vlad Tepes - a nasty old bugger to be sure.
  6. I absolutely have to get one of those.
  7. Definitely beats General Motors in my book.
  8. I don't know the answer to either question - not sure I would want to, either.
  9. I was going to say "hoser" but didn't want anyone to think I was Canadian. Zappa was most definitely not metal, but he had some pretty heavy stuff in his repertoire back before metal was even a thing. Although he doesn't belong in this thread, his influence and legacy run deep to this day.
  10. You know exactly what he means, snarkmaster.
  11. Here's a link to a local news story regarding the crash: http://keyetv.com/news/local/passenger-says-train-just-kept-coming-toward-bus-on-tracks I have to wonder if the passengers didn't have time to call 911 themselves, if they assumed the driver would, or what? After being stuck like that for 20 or 30 seconds I'd have been out of my seat and moving to get off the bus.
  12. I wouldn't have actually called it extreme....
  13. Yeah, but his body language definitely suggests that he might be made of wood.
  14. There's definitely an acclamation period before you get used to things here, but once you get the flow it's pretty cool.
  15. Oh, I'm with you 100% on the issue of domestic spying. I'm just trying to remind folks that for now, this revelation regarding smart televisions isn't worth worrying about. Do what I do. Watch television with no pants on.
  16. Not if you unplug it. Voltage is required to push those electrons merrily along. No voltage applied, no current. No current, no spying. You can also just disconnect it from the web - no connection, your personal info has no way to leave your home.
  17. Those weren't blank stares, my friend. Those were "pisseyes".
  18. The people on board were local to my area, Bastrop being essentially a suburb of Austin. I work in Bastrop frequently. A Biloxi man saw the crash about to happen and managed to get three or four people off the bus before it was struck. Here's a link from The Austin American-Statesman: https://www.statesman.com/news/local/former-lockhart-school-administrators-killed-biloxi-crash-school-district-says/OOE7HURJPoJsrgml9TBP9N/
  19. We didn't have no dope or LSD but a couple of quarts of beer, would fix it so the intonation would not offend your ear.... Metal or no - you never cleanse a thread of Zappa, you poser.
  20. Because if there's one adjective that immediately comes to mind with regard to women, it's "brawny".
  21. Oh, I'm tracked via GPS whenever driving a company vehicle, all my internet traffic is monitored, and who knows what else. But as soon as I'm off the job and gone, they're blind to what I'm doing. As long as I don't start wrecking phones (unless they're serviced by a different carrier), the phone cops won't come after me.
