How good does EJ have to be?
DanInUticaTampa replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he gets us to the playoffs, that would set it up for the starter through his rookie contract at least. There is enough talent on this roster that if you put a top 20 QB on it, this is a playoff team. EJ doesn't have to be great, but he has to be significantly better than last year. If we fail to make the playoffs this year, the whole blame will be put on him. And with ownership in question, a curveball might be thrown at this team, for better or worse -
Programming Alert! Wednesday 7/16 at 8 PM
DanInUticaTampa replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
exactly. A lot of good defensive plays, and couple offense plays. Though there can't be more than 2-3 offense ones -
agreed. I think there is a chance they move graham around a lot. Whether it is depth at corner if Mckelvin or gilmore goes down or if they need to move him to saftey. Or have both him and Robey on the field at the same time. I think they both play a lot this year.

How much should EJ play in the preseason?
DanInUticaTampa replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is probably accurate. If I had to guess, I am thinking they are going to sit him for game 5. I am thinking none of the starters will be playing, and they aren't going to want him out there the a 3rd string line and such -
i never seen them call lebron james LBJ. took me a minute

Manziel the new Josh Gordon?

love that whitner referenced Bleacher Report, which is when Aaron Williams finally had enough lol. Out of the whole thing, my favorite part is still when Whitner called out Watkins, and watkins came back with (paraphrasing) I don't know what got you so upset, but you are a vet, act like one" and Whitner didn't say a word lol. A rookie shutting him up, and acting more like a pro than him was the best. I am no dissing how Aaron williams and Talley went at it, but shutting whitner up is a tough thing to do. And I loved that it was because of our rookie.
-
I never hated whitner as a player, I thought he was an ok starter. But man, ever since he left I have hated him more and more each year. I cannot see him lasting much longer. Sucks the browns have a good defense, he will benefit from a good supporting cast. I hope be embarrass him this year. I don't want to just beat the browns, but I want all our receivers to burn him, all our running backs to miss his tackles, frank summer to lay him out while CJ scores a 60 yard TD.... I want it to be the worst game of his career. I want butt fumble bad for Whitner that game.

I would love to call the OP crazy, but with my luck it seems just iike the bills to bottom out the year they don't have a first rounder. Too much to bottom out in a year with an Andrew luck/ Cam Newton and have a first round pick intact. Now, hoping the team bottoms out just to get people fired is crazy. I don't care that much who gets fired and not anymore. I just want a winning team, no matter who is running the show. I want a winning team, I don't want a bad season just to fire people. I am hoping for a winning season. Buffalo haters may root against that, but I won't ever cheer for this team to lose. Especially when there is no first round pick.

Who Is Your Most Underrated Bill Past Or Present ?
DanInUticaTampa replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Always felt london fletcher was under rated when he was here. fred jackson continues to impress me. I really thought he would have been fazed out of the NFL in the past couple years, but there is no quit in that guy. -
It was actually the other way around last year. Tuel was on the reg roster all year and Dixon was on the practice squad
-
Agreed. Before the injury Trent had a Alex smith feel to him. Not a big arm, but managed game and checked down, didn't over turn. After that injury, he was checking down still, but doing it all wrong. So horrible throwing the ball to someone behind the LOS all day. For a rookie, I was happy with EJ not counting the injuries. His knees have me more worried than his talent. Though I do worry about talent a little bit too. He had some awful games last year, but he had some good ones. Especially earlier in the season. He will have a chance to show if he learned anything last year and is at a higher level. Im still expecting a terrible season by the bills, because after all these years, that's all I know

Olbermann Bills/Soccer insult
DanInUticaTampa replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Probably one of the lesser stupid things he has said. I would have actually chuckled at that had it been someone else telling it. So painful to watch him. He always looks like he is forcing himself not to laugh or trying to prevent himself making a huge random outburst. and a little off topic, I cannot understand how soccer is so popular. A sport where you barely use your hands doesnt seem like much of sport. but the best thing about soccer:They are really good at not having so many freakin commercials. Huge problem I have with football is they somehow squeeze more and more commericals in a game each year. Really ridiculous, If there is any reason to pay to go to a game live, it is to avoid the commercials. -
Mario Williams to be on Top 100 tonight
DanInUticaTampa replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Worst part is that it was my fault. Me going to the game in tampa cursed it as soon as I bought my ticket -
I really liked him as a swing tackle. good value for the 4th round. He could start on some teams at tackle. If he can play guard, our oline will be much better than last year.
-
Arizona should be higher, even if the AFC is weaker. Cards beat the Seahawks in seattle last year when it seemed impossible. Arizona might be the third best team in that conference. I put them ahead of the saints and packers honestly.

I politely ask you guys to stop quoting taksersghost. I have him blocked so I don't have to read his nonesense, and quoting him just subjects me to the mental pain I am trying to avoid

Fitzpatrick named Texans Starting QB
DanInUticaTampa replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
10 minutes after the announcement, Andre Johnson Announced his retirement -
Initials are serious business. Front office just doesn't get that though. Knowing them, they are going to replace EJ with somone with initials like JP. Remember those days? oh boy.... Btw, I was hoping with minicamp starting these nonsense threads would stop finally. Where are all the dozons of "this is my 53 man roster" and "surprise cuts" threads? those are usually the redundant stuff on here by now. +1

TJ isn't a bad receiver. I think he is better than most people say. A lot of people hate him because he is mostly a number 3 receiver and we "could" have had russel Wilson with his pick. He isn't bad, but we have talent at receiver that is ahead of him. On other teams, he would be a solid number 3 guy.
-
I like him as a 5 receiver. He would basically be Goodwins backup. Goodwin is the better all player, but he seems to get injured pretty easy. Graham is the only receiver that can match his speed, so Graham is good for depth. He isn't a bad receiver, but we do have better talent on this team. And I don't buy the think where Rodak is speculating WIlliams being cut and the team keeping hogan and Graham ahead of him. Williams getting cut isn't something that will be noticeable until preseason games start. If he sucks up that bad in preseason, then I would worry. Still wish we kept stevie though. Have stevie in the slot, Woods and Watson on the out side with williams in the 4 receiver sets, and then goodwin be deep threat. that would have been nice. A littler nervous if woods/watson gets injured and then williams gets into trouble.

ESPN.com interview with Whaley
DanInUticaTampa replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For the most part, yes, he was conservative. With an exception or two. I still don't think this trade gets done with Wilson alive. -

Well, him too. Though is role always seemed questionable as for how much he is actually involved in.
