At the same time, I don't think we should be putting pop-stars on Sesame Street. The show is supposed to be about learning basic stuff, not about becoming a lemming to society and buying all the latest pop-star songs. When I was a kid, the only "pop stars" I can remember that were on the show were C3P0 and R2D2, and that was only on one or two episodes. Less corporate brainwashing, especially on PBS, please.

I think we should start by cleaning out most of the fans that do nothing but spew negativity. Same goes for the local Buffalo radio/TV people who spin everything into a negative. You want to fire people after *2* games?! Give me a break.

From what I've heard, it's not really Robin Hood. It's an action/adventure movie that has nothing to do with the basis of the Robin Hood stories. The review I heard on the way to work was that if it was called "Cool Action Adventure," it'd be a much better movie, but because it's called "Robin Hood," it falls flat. So go in without any expectations about the story and it might be worth a rent from what I hear.

I'm curious how the effects of removing culture and religion are affecting the game. I loved increasing the culture of my civilization so that everyone wanted to switch to my side. Looks like that's gone now. The combat is COMPLETELY different too, and maybe for the better.

Seriously though, Civilization is a great strategy game. It's "similar" to Axis and Allies - a board game that people spend days playing. People can become addicted to anything - so while it's a fun game, and I've lost my share of sleep over the last 20 years because of the game, it's definitely a "thinking man's" game (unlike World of Warcraft). You'd actually probably like it.

Liar. I'm sure you have Minesweeper, Hearts, and Solitaire.

We're sending probes to other planets/moons looking for microbial life. Why would aliens visiting earth looking at us be lame...? Or maybe it is us, sent from the future to the past in order to disable the missiles that were going to destroy the planet, and thus our future selves! :ph34r:

Two terribly depressing movies: Gone Baby Gone - directed by Ben Affleck, and staring Casey Affleck... But it's REALLY well done and VERY depressing - in a "I'm going to shoot myself in the head" way. I watched it streaming from Netflix last Christmas which made for quite the festive family holiday. A second terribly depressing movie is My Sister's Keeper. Even the description sounds sad: "Anna Fitzgerald looks to earn medical emancipation from her parents who until now have relied on their youngest child to help their leukemia-stricken daughter Kate remain alive."

Another advantage is that you can install Steam on as many computers as you want, and thus install Civ 5 (or any other game) on any of those computers. You can't play them both at the same time, but it's great if you have a desktop and a laptop.

You realize this is the same answer everyone's been giving for the past 10 years, no matter who is playing QB, right...?
