  1. For those who don't see this thread before today is over: http://www.google.com/logos/2010/oz10-hp.gif
  2. How is this actually legal....? I'm not big into politics, but I don't see how something like this could actually fly. Like Obama, I haven't actually read the law yet so maybe it's not as bad as the article makes it sound...? Article: http://www.sodahead.com/united-states/wisc...estion-1139835/ Link to the law: http://www.legis.state.wi.us/rsb/code/gab/gab001.pdf
  3. I did ask him - he doesn't think his frame's are high enough quality to sell. Ikea is a good idea - I should have my wife check there (I hate that store...) That's a good idea -- I'll try to do that too and see what happens.
  4. The first link is just showing the artwork available from this place. Although the photos show the art in frames, they do not sell them with the frames - you get the aluminum and some foamcore backing, and that's it. I like the frame they use for the Star Wars pieces -- and would like similar, but haven't been able to find anything. Luckily, Lana has apparently volunteered to make them for me. Sorry I wasn't clear.
  5. If it doesn't look too difficult to make, how about you make them for me? That's actually what the artist said... But I'm not handy at all.
  6. Obviously how? What's being measured?
  7. I'm married and I'm hanging them up in my real theater. The basement theater is my domain to do whatever I want with. (and she thought they were cool too, so that helped even more ).
  8. I'm purchasing some cool artwork for my home theater - it's laser-etched aluminum and looks pretty cool. http://www.westsidelaserworks.com/comic-book-related.html I'm getting the two Star Wars pieces, the Serenity piece, and the Iron Man piece. I really like how the frames on the Star Wars ones look -- http://www.westsidelaserworks.com/uploads/...936517_orig.jpg And I was wondering if anybody knows where to buy a frame like that online? We can go to a custom framing store, I'm sure, but that's going to be pretty expensive... Was hoping someone may have stumbled upon frames like at some point. The ones in the picture are custom made by the artist and aren't for sale. (already tried that )
  9. Dude, I was running a computer simulation league in high school. Of COURSE the nerd alert is accurate! But I had a lot of people wanting to play (including many non-nerds ). It was a blast!
  10. I don't know, why don't you look into it?
  11. The first version of Madden was released on the Commodore 64 as well. I used to run a "virtual football league" with friends. For a couple of seasons we had someone owning each of the 28 teams. We had a huge draft party picking players, it was great. There were only a few attributes (speed, strength, etc) for each player, and it was on a scale of 1-9. I even wrote programs to calculate and organize stats for all of the games/weeks/seasons.
  12. You only got $24 for RDR? I would've paid you that for it on the 360...
  13. I have to say that i prefer sitting up front -- I was 4th row last year as well, and I loved being able to watch them perform up close. I didn't feel like I saw better effects when I sat further back at previous shows.
  14. When he's talking about lags, he's talking about the delay between pressing a button on the remote and something happening on the screen. It seems like some firmware updates have made that a little better, but it's still pretty annoying overall -- TiVo never had that. If I had to guess, it sounds like a bad harddrive on the DVR that keeps flaking out. I'm assuming by "lock up" you mean the remote doesn't do anything - no menus, no display, no nothing. You can replace the internal harddrive yourself - although you're not supposed to. You can also add an external hard drive. That said, you should've just played along and pretended you were doing the steps... Especially since you've probably done them in the past. You were talking to a front line person, no different than if your internet access wasn't working and your ISP told you to reboot your cable modem. It sucks, but that's what front line support people do.
  15. http://idle.slashdot.org/story/10/08/10/13...oves-the-Act-Of It was officially announced as a bill to tax bonuses to execs who received TARP money. But then someone simply deleted the entire bill and replaced it with text about aviation security. And then it was deleted again, and replaced with something having to do with education. However, because of these constant changes, many of the services that track the bill have the old details listed.
  16. That's because you are a Scrooge McDuck.
  17. The first half is always the same - it's the story of Christmas Eve. The production changes (the stages have been getting more elaborate over the years, giving the musicians more mobility), but the music doesn't. The second half is mixed up quite a bit from year to year and is usually completely different although they always play some fan favorites.
  18. Actually, I just got it about 10 minutes ago - they must like you more!
  19. For those who don't know, it's a great show. 20. My only complaint is that the democrats keep harping on "the rich aren't paying their fair share of taxes," but it seems the populace is stupid and isn't realizing that the democratic politicians are all RICH AND NOT PAYING THEIR FAIR SHARE OF TAXES! (according to them). If the dems really want to show how much "better" they are, why not get together and say, "We believe in what we say -- and therefore are not going to take a salary for the next year. All of that money will go towards paying down the deficit. Republicans, are you going to follow suit?" But that will NEVER happen. They talk about all the poor people, pretend that they're in that same class and that they want to help the poor people, but do nothing about it other than "take from rich other than themselves." Mark Dayton, a trust-fund baby who hasn't ever had a job, has been campaigning on that very topic - "If you make $150,000 or more a year, you're making more than 90% of Minnesotans! And you need to pay your fair share of taxes!" Give me a break. Here's a couple of his advertising spots. The second one is priceless -- "Make the rich pay more so you can pay less!" I guess it worked for Obama... http ://minnesotaindependent.com/60935/in-n...share-of-taxes Hopefully he'll lose the primary - there's one woman running that attacked him saying something like, "A police officer married to a nurse is NOT a rich family, even though they make $150,000."
  21. How many of Steve Tasker's victims were injured? I know people say "returning kicks/punts is dangerous," but I still don't remember seeing a high number of returners injured on return plays... Yes, it happens from time to time, but I don't get the impression from watching football that it happens that much. Heck, Deon Sanders was a star CB and he returned punts all the time.
  22. Exactly. On top of that, has anyone actually looked into whether returners get injured more frequently than non-returners? Seems to me that there isn't really a high number of injuries to kick/punt returners in NFL games...
  23. I just got done watching the NFL Network's "10 players who belong in the Hall of Fame." Tasker was #9. Reed was #5. Rod Woodson (a guy who actually played in the NFL, was a top cornerback, and might know a thing or two about receivers) said that Reed deserves to be in the HOF over Michael Irvin. How's that for a ringing endorsement? A few people on the segment made similar comments as are posted here - he was very good, but not HOF caliber. They also mentioned that offenses have exploded nowadays, so everyone and their brother gets 50 catches and 1000 yards. It doesn't diminish how great the guy was, and a lot of people seemed to agree he belongs in the HOF (several people said he deserves it more than Irvin -- one guy said something like, "When I heard Irvin got in over Reed, I thought it was bullBLEEP." I didn't see Cris Carter's name mentioned in the top 10 (although I was fast forwarding so may have missed it).
  24. You know this from first hand experience...?
