  1. They were shocked that the refs didn't make that happen.
  2. There's a lot of the them on Amazon. W hich one did you buy for them? http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-h...=0&Go.y=0&Go=Go CW
  3. Any recommendations on a one deck card shuffler? My wife and I can't shuffle cards to save our lives... Just wondering if anyone has one that they really like. CW
  4. Blast from the past -- see the "Hills" advertisement on the boards? CW
  5. Two games we lost, we only allowed 19 points. Another game we lost, we only allowed 13 (and that team plays again this week...). Another game we lost by 1 point, and another game we lost by 4. That's *5* games that were very VERY winnable, which would've given us a 10-win season. I'd hardly say that's the defense folding every chance it got. We just got spoiled by only allowing 5 yards of offense against Cleveland last year (or however many it was ). Our running game netted us the 10th best RB in the league, so it was hardly nonexistant as well. Inconsistant, yes, but that happens when you have a crappy line and can't throw the ball more than 2 yards downfield. Our pass protection was about the same as it was last year (and about as bad as it's been for nearly a decade), and yet we did win 9 games last year, and 8 games three years ago. So why is it crazy to think that we would've had a shot at the playoffs with him (or, as I keep saying, someone above-average like Brad Johnson) at QB? New England was ripe for the picking this year, and we blew it. You forgot to add "In a much better division." And again, 9 wins in that much better division. (we played 5 playoff games, they played 7; we obviously had a far easier schedule). On the bright side, we probably have no shot at the playoffs next year, so we can play JPL all season.... CW
  6. Yeah, just like when we went 9-7. Besides, ANY above average QB would've taken us to the playoffs this year. I did mention Brad Johnson earlier in the thread. But apparantly nobody is allowed to have an opinion other than "OF COURSE WE WOULDN'T GET TO THE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR IDIOT!" Whatever. CW
  7. If you drive like you did 5 years ago, that won't be a problem.
  8. KH almost beat the Pats in New England. The game was winnable. He won 9 games in Dallas this year, 9 games in Buffalo last year. Who's to say he couldn't have won 9 games this year? Very well could've gotten us into the playoffs, and there's nothing "absoutely ridiculous" about it. (could != would) EDIT: Note I also said "any above average QB." Wasn't Brad Johnson signed by the Vikes in the offseason? That would've worked just as well...
  9. Where did I say 11-5? Last I checked, you only needed to go 10-6 to win the AFC East. Beat the Pats once (you know, like we should've the first time we played them), and now you only need 9 wins to make the playoffs. No doubt that with a real QB we could've beaten the Dolphins, the Patriots once (we almost did it with KH...), and the Jets. On top of that, either the Saints or Falcons game was easily winnable with a QB. Not out of the realm of possibility with DB or some other above average (not great) QB. CW
  10. Cowboys played in the toughest division in the NFL. The last place team in the division had a better record than Buffalo did... Not a pushover in the bunch there. Can't say we'd be playing this weekend with DB (wouldn't be surprised if we weren't), but there's a good chance we would've played last week. CW
  11. There's a horn at the Xcel Energy Center (where the wild play). It's a VERY nice arena. Johnny - yes, Curtis Brown used to play for the Sabres. CW
  12. I'm talking about posts here. I havn't seen anything specific to MM, but when GW left town, there were people saying we should shoot him on his way out. CW
  13. Threaten to attack the president or his family and see what happens to you. CW
  14. Way to be the cream of the crap. And I actually doubt it. Find me a message board with posts about shooting a former coach on his way out of town. Humor me.
  15. I'm not even talking about whether it's a reason MM resigned or not. That's NOT the point. This board has been a perfect example of everything that's wrong with sports, where people think they can say anything they want. For example, when GW was fired, people were LITERALLY posting things like, "Hey everyone, let's get our rifles, hang out on the overpasses, and shoot at GW on his way out of town!" Uh huh.... On top of that, look at the stupid posts about players. MW is a tub of goo. Drew Bledslow. TH loves little girls. The list goes on. It's uncalled for. People need to grow up. CW
  16. Yeah, I know.
  17. I thought you were talking about Gina... Got confused for a sec
  18. And yet there's a lot of truth in it...
  19. Yeah, that would've been a lot funnier. He was clearly bothered by it on LKL last night. He was also obviously coached as to what answers to give. And he never strayed from the script (heck, I think if Larry asked him, "What did you have for breakfast this morning?" he would've replied, "You know, I wrote the book to the best of my recollection." Yes, it'll probably help sales, but it also hurts his credibility. There's a reason that he said he would never write another peice of non-fiction. (of course it can be argued that he never wrote ONE peice of non-fiction ). As I said previously, my wife thinks he may have had a relapse this week as well because of this, based on the way he answered some questions. Speaking of LKL -- anyone else really annoyed with the guy's mom? God, she was annoying.. CW
  20. You do realize that statements like this make you look like an idiot, right? ID4 never claimed to be true. His book DOES claim to be true. Now he's saying, "Well, all of it's true except for those 10-20 pages that SmokingGun pointed out." Basically he's saying, "Everything's true unless you find a way to prove it untrue." The book apparantly has a great message and is well written, but it's NOT non-fiction, and that's why there's a hubbub. If it were marketed as fiction, nobody would be batting an eyelash. If it were marked as "based on true events," nobody would bat an eyelash. But he published it as a memoir, which is supposed to be TRUE. CW
  21. Exactly. Reed was a much better receiver than Irvin. Comparing the offenses of the two teams, there's a lot of similarities. Great QB, great RB, great OL. So how does Reed get ignored? Doesn't make sense, and I am tending to agree with the "Irvin's in the media more" angle. CW
  22. Yeah, that'd be worth the 15 yard penalty.
  23. Can you say "not even in the first round?" Hard to criticize others, when our own house is in such disarray. CW
