  1. Until you get sued by CharBroil for violating their patents... Gotta love the US. "We won't make 'em, and neither can you!!!" CW
  2. Apparantly you don't either...
  3. Yup - we should definately impose extra tax on beer, right?
  4. Yeah, but how do you figure out if you have a good one or not (before being audited)?
  5. The Lost threads include only the name of the episode. I think you're missing the fact that (before it was changed) the subject line of this thread specifically said who died. If someone wants to discuss it, that's great. The title that I chagned the thread to works great; if someone has Smallville recorded to watch later, they don't have to open the thread. But the way it was before, anyone who went to the OT forum was instantly spoiled. Big difference, and I think you're missing that fact (maybe you didn't see the original title before it was changed?) CW
  6. Actually, a lot/most CPAs don't know what the heck they're doing with individual tax returns either. My wife says that the returns that CPAs have done in the past are usually worse than what individuals do. YMMV.
  7. They don't give me those kinds of powers.... CW
  8. The spoiler was IN THE TITLE OF THE THREAD. I was very pissed off and changed it. Oh, so you're saying if you don't see the midnight showing of a movie, it's ok for people to tell you all of the plot twists? Yeah, I'm sure you would've loved it if you were at the movie theater, getting ready to watch The Sixth Sense and someone told you what happened at the end. Hey, it's not a spoiler, the movie had already played once at midnight. CW
  9. You know one thing that's really stood out to me the last few years? High school kids all seem to hvae cars now. The parking lot at the local high school here is HUGE, and every day when i come home from work the number of drivers has to outnumber the number of walkers at least 10-1. When I went to school, I had to walk both ways, regardless of weather, and it was a little over a mile each way. Now kids just drive to school and drive home? In addition, since most parents are too scared to let their kids go out and play, how often do you see kids playing street hockey, football, etc? I never see that where I live... But the solution is obviously to charge an extra 10 cents on a Twinkie. CW
  10. Ever heard of a VCR....? TiVo? Waiting for DVD boxsets...? You should NEVER post a spoiler in the title of a message so that anyone who looks at the forum knows what it is. A lot of places online actually make you highlight the spoiler text to even read it, so if someone accidentally clicks on the link, they still won't be spoiled. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/spoiler spoil·er: 5. A post to a newsgroup that divulges information intended to be a surprise, such as a plot twist in a movie. CW
  11. No kidding. Some people are idiots and like to ruin things for everyone. CW
  12. http://www.inflash.com/list/x.php?link_id=8442 This is pretty funny. You can download the (LEGAL!) MP3 here: http://www.eviltrailmix.com/lemondemon/downloads.html EDIT: Apparantly the site with the MP3 has exceeded its bandwidth and has been turned off for now... Might have to try again tomorrow. CW
  13. Next time it happens, you're banned for a week.
  14. If you added the mortage/real estate taxes and nothing changed, that's because the standard deduction is higher than if you itemize. You might be out of luck. My wife works for H&R Block, so we get our taxes done for free CW
  15. You can download Lost episodes from iTunes. That said, downloading an episode off the net will *probably* not get you a call from the FBI. Yes, it's illegal, but if it's small potatos like that, chances are nobody will care.... ...but don't complain to me if they do. CW
  16. Yup, that pretty much sums up the law. It's also technically illegal for you to tape a show and give it to someone else (even if it's the only copy). Go figure. CW
  17. In a word: Distribution. When you record to a VHS tape, you're doing so with the permission of the original copyright holder (well, more like with the LAW, since the copyright holders tried quahsing that in the betamax case...). When you download, you're taking control of the distribution away from the original copyright holder - they didn't give their permission for you to be able to view/download it. That's why iTunes downloads are legal -- the copyright holder gave permission (for a cut of the procedes). Obviously you CAN download shows, music, etc. But the question was whether it was legal or not. CW
  18. No, not legal. You can use iTunes and download shows, but it costs $1.99/each. CW
  19. He's here in record time!
  20. Can't hurt... http://www.fireflyseason2.com/BrowncoatProfile.asp CW
  21. Yeah, except people here eqate the "worst possible time" with "anytime it happens."
  22. Kinda like the idiot reporter who said something like, "Buffalo has passed the ball 3,458,385 straight times on 3rd and less than 3!!!" when in reality that was nowhere near the truth... Yet everyone quoted it anyway. Makes you wish people would do their own due diligence before believing everything they read... CW
  23. That's a FALSE accusation - Brown was actually rarely called for false start or holding penalties. When he was released and everyone made posts similar to yours in regards to penalties, I analyzed his last three seasons in Buffalo, looking over every play in the play by play, and his penalty count was well below 1/game (including false start AND holding). It's just a myth. CW
  24. I'd be shocked if the Bills sold out the Ralph for a scrimmage. Besides, Green Bay has too much history -- kids in the city line up by the practice field just hoping that a Packer will ride his/her bike across the street to the stadium (the Bills partook in this last year). They make a BIG deal out of Family Fun Night. CW
