  2. The Reavers had a relatively small part on the series and nobody knew where they came from. You just knew if they were coming, you tried to run the other way. The series itself wasn't really "about" one specific group, one specific character, etc. It was, in essence, a Western that asked the question, "How do the outlaws survive on the fringes of society?" They all had a different reason for being outalws (some, like Book, you don't really even know), but that was the story. You obviously can't have something open-ended like that for a movie, so they needed to pick something and focus on it for the movie. That's why the series was way better (IMHO), although I really loved the movie too. That answer your question...? CW
  3. It's up in the air right now. It cost $39M, and made roughly $35M. That was before DVD sales, which have been going through the roof. It's still in the top-10, two months after release (#9 today, #11 yesterday), so it's selling well. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BW7QW...&v=glance&n=130 Firefly, the series, is still #12 (it was #17 yesterday): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000AQS0...&v=glance&n=130 Keep in mind that the series (Firefly) has been out for two or three years, and is STILL selling that well... So it's possible that there'll be a sequel, but nobody knows yet. I would definately recommend renting (or buying) the Firefly series -- it's AWESOME. CW
  4. Looks like Rico may owe me some cash when Bledsoe retires CW
  5. From what I read though, the CFL isn't supposed to count -- USFL does/did, but not CFL because they have their own HOF. So when does Flutie and Pinball Clements go into the "Hall of Fame?" CW
  6. How does Moon get in, but Thomas doesn't...?
  7. Didn't even make the final 6...
  8. No Monk or Derrick Thomas... No THURMAN?!?!?! That blows... No Irvin at least... CW
  9. Umm, didn't the networks pay more than $24M to televise games...? "Upshaw said there wouldn't be a lockout or strike if the union was decertified. Asked if the league owners would use replacement players if there is no deal when the contract expires, Upshaw said the major television networks would have something to say about that. CBS, NBC, FOX and ESPN recently paid $24 million for the rights to televise NFL games." CW
  10. I don't think I'll be able to watch Firewall. I can't imagine that they'll get any of the technology right, and I'll just be rolling my eyes throughout the whole thing. CW
  11. Very possibly. It also helps to have watched the series first. The movie standsalone well, but you really get a lot more from it if you "know" the characters better. CW
  12. It's interesting. Define interesting. Oh god, oh god, we're all gonna die?
  13. See, I hear a lot of people complain about NWA, but I havn't had any problems with them. Maybe it's because the headquarters are here? Not sure, but they've always been good. That said, to save $200-$250, I think I'll try SunCountry. CW

  15. I don't think so -- they gave me a canning jar full of their hot sauce, with no branding, labeling, etc, so I think it's definately a smaller operation. You might be able to ask someone to buy/send you some though... I'd do it for you, if I was going home anytime soon. CW
  16. You sure you can't buy the Anchor sauce in your local stores? My wife buys some from time to time in the grocery store. Personally, I prefer Duffs' sauce. We brought home a big jar of it when we went there a couple of years ago (just ask, it's not on the menu). It was excellent, and tasted great on pasta, on wings, on chicken, etc. I'm not a huge fan of the Anchor sauce. It's good, but not great. CW
  17. You should sell it on eBay!!!
  18. As opposed to the airline that had all of its mechanics strike...?
  19. Or, if you didn't spend money to buy it every night, you'd be rich CW
  20. Ahh, thanks -- I loaded that link and thought it was articles about the airline, not reviews. Teach me not to read a bit closer. I think we might go for it to save some money. CW
  21. Hey, don't start insulting Code Red. It's the drink of tech geeks everywhere, not people with kitchen appliances in their yard. How do you think the "Code Red" worm was named? People drinking Code Red to stay awake long enough to analyze and destroy the worm before it wrecked even more havoc on people's computers. So back off. CW
  22. Those reviews are all ancient... Minneapolis is one of their hubs, and they flight direct to SD, so that's why I'm looking at it. CW
  23. Just wondering if anyone has flown Sun Country airlines before? We usually fly Northwest, and while we have no problem with them, the cost to fly to San Diego for our trip this May is about $150/person more than Sun Country. That's not a small chunk of change, so I'm thinking about doing it but have never been on the airline before. Thoughts? CW
  24. Exactly. It worked for Jesse Ventura in Minnesota.
  25. Show me one case where they've stopped an IMMEDIATE threat with the Patriot Act, wiretapping, etc. There hasn't been a SINGLE case where this has helped, because if they had stopped something important, you can be sure they would be trumpeting it as a success and saying, "See public, THIS is why we do what we do! Trust us, we know what we're doing!" But in 4 years, not a single major success story based on PATRIOT, NSA, etc. It's just not necessary. Play within the system, please. Another case where the FBI tried seizing computers from a library without a warrant: http://yro.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/02/01/1451221 Kudos to the librarian/director who said, "No, get a warrant first."
