  1. This game sucks... It was much better when I was in the top place. Seriously though, I think it's a bit limiting when you can't sell... I'll defiantely have to get on board with this next season! CW
  2. Or some of us have a better sense of humor than you do CW
  3. Yes, but if everything happened exactly the same way, except that a Colts player touched the defender with his left pinky finger, the call on the field would've been correct. Dumb rule? Maybe. But can you really fault the refs for such a fine distinction, especially since the replay officials talk to the on-field ref. Maybe they were even the ones feeding the ref the false (but nearly true) information. CW
  4. Lindell was 3/3 on 50+ fieldgoals and 7/10 on 40-49 yarders... CW
  5. These kinds of comments are getting ridiculous.
  6. Again, there are SO MANY little fine lines, it's impossible to keep them all straight. Simplify the rulebook. In this case, why is it different if an Indy player's left pinky touched the player while he was catching it? If that had happened, it would be incomplete BY RULE. And remember, the officials ruled it an interception on the play. If the officiating was biased, why wouldn't they have ruled it incomplete on the field? That call was NOTHING compared to the "Just Give it To 'Em" game, yet the national media barely made a peep about that one. CW
  7. That's pretty expensive for what you get.... Anyone know what the final bid was for the Bills/Dolphins photo op in Miami? (where you got to stand with the photographers and take pictures of the game). CW
  8. Here's the main distinction: So had a Colt touched Troy on the way down, apparantly it would've been incomplete. That's a pretty fine line. Instead of blaming the refs for everything, maybe it's time to simplify the rulebook a tad. Of course, this could be completely bogus. There was a case earlier in the season where there were reports that the league appologized for blowing a call (against Seattle, if I recall?), and it later came out that it was NOT true. Could be similar here. CW
  9. My mistake. Given the wise-guy responses of 99% of the posts around here, I just assumed he meant the guy was a security guard at the playoff game. Oooops. Sorry! CW
  10. These tight ends you saw over the weekend were very good because they weren't forced to stay in and block for a bad offensive line. Your TE can't catch the ball if he has to block every play. The alternative is to have him run out to catch the ball, and see the QB get sacked (more frequently than usual). All of this is in Buffalo of course... Other teams have a good offensive line. CW
  11. They may not have been directly responsible for running him out of town, but there was a LOT of venom hurled his way when he left.
  12. That's sometimes true, but in this case, Brown was playing well for Buffalo. CW
  13. Don't thank him, he's being a wise-ass. The security guards are local to the stadium, they don't go from game to game. I havn't heard anything. CW
  14. There's play-by-play posted online. No need to watch every play, just look for Brown's name. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/playbyplay?gameId=260114026 CW
  15. As I said in a previous thread, it's NOT that simple and it's not something that you can put a chip in a football to solve. The problem (with spotting the ball, anyway) is that not only do you have to watch where the ball is, but also when the player's knee hits the turf. If you put a chip in the ball, how is it going to know when the player's knee is down? It won't, it will just be able to tell how far forward it went, even if the player moved up after being tackled. It's not hockey, where it could be argued a chip in the puck could tell if it's in the goal or not. And if you think it's easy to see where the ball should be spotted on every play, go out and ref a high school game. It's not easy, it's hard. And for those who want to know how the first down line is "painted" on the field: http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/first-down-line.htm CW
  16. Sorry, I got in the wrong line...
  17. That's EXACTLY right! I remember doing analysis of Brown's last season here, going over every play and counting the number of false starts he had. It was some ridiculously low number like 2 or 3 for the entire season. Another example of a player who was run out of town by the stupid Bills fans. CW
  18. I say it all the time - if you think you can do better, sign up to a high school ref. I did it, and it's really enlightening. CW
  19. They didn't show the replay too much, but it actually DIDN'T look like he touched anyone. That said, technically it doesn't matter if they made contact -- they simulated teh snap of the ball, so it would've been a Colts penalty anyway. I think that was the refs way of letting the players decide the outcome by not calling the minor flinch, and not calling the offsides. They shouldn't have done that though, IMHO. CW
  20. I can't either - already been deleted. Regardless, it was close at the very least, and definately favored the Steelers (ie: the refs could've easily called it a fumble if they were going gung-ho in favor of the Colts). CW
  21. Watch it again, I don't think he was.
  22. Another one? Ben R was sacked and fumbled, but the refs blew it dead. It was the play where he got hurt on. CW
  23. What?!?! It clearly wasn't invisible if the entire Colts team saw it. I even saw it when it happened. There may have been bad calls the other way, but come on -- what bad calls went the Steelers way? That was a HUGE one -- took away at least one possession for the Colts. CW
  24. Awww, you're rooting for the Bills to win the division for all eternity? How sweet.
