  1. Sounds like President Biden wants to implement John McCain's policy.
  2. Today is Justice Clarence Thomas' 74th birthday. Happy birthday Clarence. For those keeping score, it means another 10 years for Justice Thomas on the Supreme Court. After being confirmed and beating then Senators Biden and Kennedy and the rests' best efforts, he stated he was 42 years old and was going to serve on the court for 42 years. 32 down, 10 to go. Payback is a b!tch.
  3. Trouble in donkey land. President Biden wants to do a 3 month gas tax holiday and have states do likewise. However at least one donkey governor is not into it. Jay "The Snake" Inslee is not buying it. President Unity having trouble uniting his own party.
  4. This still grates on me to this day. The Democrat party punched him in the shorts on this one. He got excited, so what? Then the very next day it was all over everywhere (CNN, MSNBC, NBC CBS, ABC) etc . That he was a raving lunatic and he was done. Then Wasserman and Hillary did another punch to the shorts with Bernie in 2016. For all their talk about open and free elections and the will of the people blah blah blah, they sure don't practice what they preach. And that does not even include Raskin and Jayapal trying to throw out votes in January 2017. Mine is looking good cuz I didn't sell anything. Market will come back and in the meantime I'm buying low which is a good thing to do in the stock market.
  5. At first blush, thinking the FBI or FBI informants being involved seems nutty and conspiratorial. But if you think about what they have done in the recent past , it makes me wonder. The Governor Whitmer kidnapping plot comes to mind. Seems they like to coax people into committing crimes and come swooping in at the last minute to save the day. They also seem to like to pick people easily duped like people with schizophrenia to do the crimes. Like the bomb plot in Portland. Laugh it off if you must, but its really not out of character for the FBI to be involved. https://thefederalist.com/2021/07/23/the-whitmer-kidnapping-case-reveals-the-fbis-new-counterterrorism-target-is-you/ https://news.yahoo.com/fbi-informants-had-bigger-role-213400243.html https://www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/news/portlanders-condemn-bomb-plot-criticize-fbi-probe/
  6. I remember it very well. I lived in Dallas. We had 42 days in a row over 100 degrees and 69 days over 100 degrees that summer. It was one hot mother trucker. https://www.dallasnews.com/news/2010/08/06/dallas-fort-worth-heat-wave-of-1980-still-seared-into-memories/ Couldn't read your article so I added my own. 🙂
  7. Seattle is had a cold and wet spring. Now that summer is officially here, they are expecting 80 this weekend for the first time this year. https://www.seattlemet.com/news-and-city-life/2022/05/bad-spring-weather-seattle-2022-forecast-la-nina
  8. Good point. However the unemployment rate from May 2018 to March 2020 was the same as it is now. Never went over 4 during that time. I don't recall the kind of labor shortages we have now back then. https://www.bls.gov/charts/employment-situation/civilian-unemployment-rate.htm
  9. I find this Interesting. The unemployment rate is as you stated 3.6%. Sounds pretty doggone low. Yet everywhere I go they are looking for people to hire. Grocery store, restaurants, car dealership, everywhere. The Uhaul place by my house is offering $1000 signing bonus, start today, get paid today, and $16 per hour. They've been looking for weeks. In some places McDonald's is offering $25 per hour. It was not like this before the pandemic. Why is this? People used to work 2 jobs but now with the rise in wages they don't have to? A lot of people have decided to not work and stay home and be "entrepreneurs" or become Tik Tok stars? Since they aren't looking for work they aren't counted? I'm not suggesting anyone is lying. Just having a hard time squaring this.
  10. One thing I find interesting about this Ray Epps thing is he said the day before we must go into the Capital. Then he is right there when the first baracade was breached. Yet he didn't go in. Why not?
  11. Finally someone agrees with me. Lock it up or don't pick up soap for 6 months. I said a year but would compromise on this.
  12. I'll be interested to see what The Squad will say about it.
  13. @Jauronimo - thanks for quote. I couldn't read the article due to paywall.
  14. What did he say Ray Epps whispered in his ear before breaching the Capitol? I'm curious to know and did an internet search but could find it. Please share.
  15. I could see another "assault rifle" ban passed by congress at some point. But how would "confiscation" work? House to house search? This is a NRA canard. And it works. They're going to take away our guns. Quick, go buy some more before they do. Works every time. Don't fall for it.
  16. I did find it interesting last week when a private airplane flew over President Biden's house in Delaware jets were scrambled and the airplane was escorted to the ground. On September 11, 2001 4 jet liners were flying around off course for an hour and jets weren't scrambled In time or if they were they flew the wrong way.
  17. Who is this guy? I watched the whole thing waiting to hear him explain why it was a dissident coup or whatever and he never did. He rambled on for 11 minutes about how it's not even up for discussion. Everybody says it is. If you don't think so its cuz you just watch movies and are uninformed.
  18. Republicans are good at payback too. We have a majority Republican Supreme Court as payback for Senator Biden and Senator Kennedy and others for the Bork and Clarence Thomas hearings. Blows my mind that our President and several members of Congress (Mitch McConnell) were there for the Bork hearing. I remember that. It was a long freakin' time ago. We need term limits IMHO. I try to impose them in the ballot box but have not had much siuccess.
  19. I think that doctor lady just likes to say "that little bitty penis".
  20. This would give the D's real red meat they could really run with for the mid terms. He would be sucker punching his own party. But we're talkin' Trump here so anything's possible.
  21. I agree. Would be great if we e enforced the laws we already have. Actually I'm not concerned about the wrong thing. I get aggravated at this vicious cycle whenever there is a mass shooting though cuz its so dumb. Its also the only time we talk about this stuff. Mass shootings such as in Buffalo account for only about 1% of all people killed by guns. My idea is to try to reduce the other 99% by stopping so many guns from getting into the hands of criminals which 300,000+ did in 2021. Good luck getting stop and frisk passed in today's political climate. Lock it up or get locked up.
  22. Really? Paranoid much? I'm not trying to punish responsible gun owners such as yourself and @Chef Jim. I'm trying to punish negligent gun owners whose 300,000+ guns get stolen every year, many from cars and are thus immediately into the hands of bad guys/gals. Sure you have a right to own a gun, but with rights comes responsibility. Take personal responsibility for it. As far as your concern about poor people being able own a gun, I am more concerned about poor people being shot by stolen guns. Since 300,000 get reported stolen ever year, the word is not out. That's enough irresponsible gun owners to fill The Ralph 5 times. I can't swear to the legality of something like this cuz I'm not a lawyer, just a guy on a really good football team's forum. Where did you get your law degree btw? What is your solution on how to control gun theft in this country? I'm sick of every time a mass shooting happens its always the same "common sense gun legislation" ie background checks and red flag laws which we already have and are not helping. And then people think they're coming after their guns so they go buy more. It's a vicious cycle. So I'm trying to think of something else.
  23. I don't think this is a very good analogy. I'll try one. Let's say the Bills finally win the Super Bowl and we all go to downtown Buffalo for the parade. And then there are a handful of Patriot fans who yell "its ours" and charge the float where the trophy is and take it. Are you gonna not do anything if a Bills fan yells "GET HIM" and a mob goes after 'em? You might. Mob mentality is a real thing. Note: I am not equating a stolen trophy with a stolen election. As far as I'm concerned it was legit. Just making an closer analogy. And of course "well, this guy said we should do it" is not a valid excuse. Nor would it be an excuse for a Bills fan bashing in a Patriot fans head with the trophy.
  24. First off your argument about if a cop has his/her gun stolen and it kills someone reminds me of pro choice advocates argument about the life of the mother and I n c e s t. Edge cases that rarely happen. Here's what I'm talking about. 13,000 guns were stolen from cars in 271 cities studied in 2020. Here's what can happen: The person whose gun was stolen from an unlocked car should be at least partially responsible IMHO. A year in jail sounds good to me. Do you really think they should bear no responsibility? As @B-Man would say, read the whole thing. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/guns-are-stolen-cars-alarming-trend-nation-rcna26691 https://www.thetrace.org/2021/10/firearm-average-lifespan-how-many-lost-stolen-broken-guns/ 300,000+ stolen guns. according to the FBI. And that's only the reported ones. Tough penalties for people negligent about their firearm would cause some people at least to wise up if they knew a year in jail would result if their firearm is stolen and used in a crime. This would be a good way to keep guns out of the hands bad guys/gals. We all wanna do that, right? Take personal responsibility for your gun or else don't pick up the soap for a year.
  25. Sounds like you are a responsible gun owner and should have nothing to worry about. And yes, you should be responsible for your guns period. Everyone needs to take personal responsibility for their own guns. Just curios. Why do you own guns? Hunting? Target practice? Obviously not for protecting your home since if someone breaks in or does a home invasion there is little to no chance you'll have time or opportunity to get to and open your gun safe bolted to the floor. But if you ever leave it out of the safe or leave it in your car and its gets stolen and used in a crime you should bear some responsibility and do some jail time IMHO. Keep it locked up like you do and you have nothing to worry about.
