  1. That's your opinion, we'll see. Tyrod has done OK, but if we can improve the position we should. QB is the most important position. Leave no stone unturned. Don't lock yourself into one strategy. I suspect Doug will not, given the opportunity. I mean everyone said EJ was his boy, yet he coaxed Kyle Orton out of retirement heading into his boy's second season where he would be the starter. I'm all for Tyrod starting next year, unless we can find someone better.
  2. I could have sworn several times throughout the course of the season he said he was going to do that.
  3. Kim and Terry sat in on all interviews. They had Rex over for a sleep over at their house to watch the Super Bowl. They're the people with the money. They don't deserve a lion share of the credit for this hire? As I see it, it's all on them. The snake oil salesman came to town, and Kim and Terry being the NFL Country Bumpkins they are, bought it.
  4. I think if Whaley stays, he'll make another QB move. He's been aggressive in that department the last couple of years. Trading down for EJ 3 years ago. 2 years ago he coaxed Kyle out of retirement. This year he signed Tyrod and traded for Cassell. I think Whaley is very aware that QB is (still IMHO) a problem and we won't rise above mediocrity until we find a, as the thread title states, real qb. I like Tyrod and he has played well. But if there is an opportunity to improve football's most important position, we'll go for it (at least I hope so anyway).
  5. 3 Pro Bowl Defensive Lineman not good enough for ya?
  6. The 3 and outs didn't help either. It's not even close.
  7. 14. Harvin (can't stay healthy)
  8. THREE Pro Bowlers on the defensive line.
  9. Bills were in fact 9-7 last year. Look up Thurman.
  10. The coaching hire rests on Kim and Terry primarily. Rex came to their house to watch the Super Bowl and knocked their Sox off. Like the NFL Country Bumpkins they are, they fell for it. Whaley has done a good job IMHO. WE HAVE A TALENTED ROSTER. if we can't win with it, its not Whaleys's fault.
  11. I didn't forget anything. Yeah the TDs were nice. But all of them were because the OLine opened up a big hole. He got through it and ran to the EZ untouched. If there is no hole of it isn't huge he runs into a crowd and gets flattened. He doesn't run over anyone, he doesn't fake anyone out, he doesn't bounce off anyone, he doesn't drag the pile. In fact, the TD that Gillislee score vs Eagles was a carbon copy of Kartlos' TDs. A lot of RBs can score on plays like that. His straight up run into a crowd style is probably contributing to his injury problems. This is how I see it. I know its a minority opinion, but I'm good with it.
  12. This tells me all I need to know about your football acumen. Thanks for sharing.
  13. It could be argued we did in 2010. We started 0-8 and then went 4-4 in the second half of the season. In the draft, Carolina took Cam at 1 and we took Mr. Big Stuff at 4.
  14. 1971 Dallas Cowboys 1977 Dallas Cowboys 1983 Philadelphia 76ers 2011 Dallas Mavericks
  15. Karlos, if he has a big hole to run through can take it to the house. Otherwise, he runs into a crowd and falls like a ton of bricks. That's if he can suit up that is. RB is a big hole for us IMHO. We'll sign a FA or 2 I suspect. We got the 1. We need a 1A.
  16. Yes, presently we are in QB purgatory. But tanking is not the only or maybe even the best way to get out. The Hawks were in QB purgatory until they drafted Rusell in the 3rd round. The Cardinals were in QB purgatory until they traded for Palmer. The Saints were in QB purgatory until they signed Brees. The Cowboys were in QB purgatory until they signed and developed Romo. The Cheaps were in QB purgatory until they traded for Alex Smith. There's more than one way to skin a cat. Whaley has been aggressive in trying find us a QB. I don't see that stopping.
  17. Russell Wilson was a 3rd round pick. Drew Bres was a 2nd round pick. Tony Romo was a undrafted FA. Kurt Warner was a undrafted FA.
  18. No argument here. But it's not a problem for me because I have TIVO. It makes watching football bearable. Skip the commercials, replays, 5 minute ref conferences, etc. Record the game and start watching it about an hour after it starts. If there's any way you an swing it, I highly recommend it.
  19. I'm with you NOVA. Odds are long no doubt, but I'm not giving up yet. Not until we're mathematically eliminated, then it's on to spoiler duty. Just win. Go BILLS !!
  20. Hmmm. When did this happen? I didn't know that. Have the docs give him a once over, and if not him, then someone else. The need does exist.
  21. I like Aaron Williams. It's nice that he wants to take a veteran leadership role on the team. I hope he can do that. At the beginning of this year he was far from that with his immature shenanigans during the first Patsies** game which played a big role in digging us into a big hole early. I found the following excerpt interesting: The bolded part is what I thought all along. Rex or Doug or whoever didn't want the team leader to be an aging RB. He wanted it to be Tyrod. It's Tyrod''s team. Tyrod wouldn't be leader as long as Fred was here. So move Fred along. Too bad it didn't work out that way. I do find it encouraging that several players have come out and said they bought into hype and the team needs to be more disciplined and the team lacks leadership. Hopefully the players can pull together and we can achieve this in spite of Rex.
  22. Just watching "The Timeline". In playoffs Roger comes off the bench in the 4th quarter and brought Cowboys back from down by 15 to win. That is the key element of being "The Guy" that TYrod is sorely lacking presently. Until he can do that, he won't be. I hope he can learn or develop this skill. However I'm not sure it is something that can be learned or developed. We'll see.
  23. That's alright. You'll get the last laugh in a couple of weeks when our team is in the playoffs and hers is not.
  24. My choice would be Lagarrete Blount. Karlos is JAG that can't stay healthy. We need someone so our run game keeps on chugging when McCoy goes out for a blow.
