I suspect they're going to moving there before too long. They already have an office there and they play there EVERY YEAR. -

What does Buffalo need to improve

Defensive Line (we need a freakin' pass rush) Offensive Line One Two Punch backup RB. Somebody good. Not just a backup jag. We need to spell Shady more AND still be able to run the ball better than just effectively when he's out. Somebody like Lagarette Blount or Carlos Hyde At least 2 good WRs. Whether a guy catches the football has nothing to do with who threw it. HUGE HOLE at the moment Better Line Backers QB - Keep Hotrod, sign or trade for a vet, draft someone. Battle it out in camp. Nasty Nate can be a camp arm -

Hotrod only played in 7 of those games and another one he was knocked out the game before the 4th started. Hotrod EVEN gets credit for other guy's screw ups! I wonder if Rico played a role in this? Against Chargers, in the 4th quarter he threw for one TD and ran for another. http://www.buffalobills.com/schedules/game/2017/regular11 In the first 8 games he did it twice (almost). We were down 7 vs the Bucs half way through the 4th, and the offense got 10 more points and the win. Against the Panthers he hit Drop Zone in the hands on the goal line down 6 with less than :30 to play. Since we now know Drop Zone can't catch a cold, I count that as a comeback with an asterisk. It IS a team game after all. Everyone has to do their part. -
Bills' Free Agent Stay or Go List.

Maybe. Might just be a negotiating tactic but I did hear him say that if the Bills didn't re SIGn him he would still be a FA. So, well see what happens. Seahawks love to sign veteran studly defensive linemen. And Michael Bennet is a FA also (we should sign him AND Kyle). -

I think its a dumb stat too. But some guys cOme through (with the help of this teammates) in the clutch and get wins others don't was really my only point. QB has more effect on the game and influence in the outcome of the game because they touch the ball on every play and throw 99.9% of the passes. I also though think Jon Gruden is right that football is the ultimite team game. Doesn't have to be one or the other. But yeah, the stat is dumb, I agree. Thanks for the compliment -

My prediction is if we don't re sign Kyle, the Seahawks will. -
I remember Rob Johnson did something similar once too. We'll see

Maybe. Like I said, he's tainted. I can't take anything he does and think he's done it all on the up and up without advantages other QBs don't have, like deflated footballs and such. Maybe you think he's on the up and up, but I and any accomplishment he gets has an asterisk next to it. But that's just me. Can you think of any other QBs that can get it done with meager WRs? Not Big Ben. Not Mat Ryan. Not Drew Brees. Not Cam Newton. Not Andy Dalton. Not Jim Kelly. Not Kurt Warner. Not Roger Staubach. Not Eli Manning. Not Peyton Manning. Not Terry Bradshaw. Maybe Russell Wilson but I think his WRs are pretty darn good even if they're not big name guys. I'd say the same for Tommy's WRs. They're not big name guys, but they sure look sure handed and effective when I watch them. And why doesn't Gronk count. He lines up our wide like WR and they use him like one. I remember one Super Bowl where his guys dropped some key balls and they lost and as Giselle pointed out, he can't throw them and catch them too.

Thanks for your thoughful response backed up by stats. Good job. I agree with a lot of what you said. But the game isn't played on the stat sheet. Some QBs are better at coming through in the clutch than others. Those guys (like Flutie or Roger Stuabach) win more games because of it. May not show up on stat sheets 20 years later, but it's a real thing. Do think it's a real thing? Other guys like Tony Romo can pass for a gazillian yards, but when it gets to the big playoff game, they blow it and lose. Some QBs because of their skills, personality, and leadership can lift the play of the whole team. I was at a Bills game in 2000 or 2001 and Rob Johnson started the game and offense was pathetic. Rob got hurt and Flutie came in boom, we started moving the football and scoring points. The lady in front of me says "they play different when he's in". True. You could see it as clear as the nose on your face. Roger Staubach was the same way. The Cowboys were next years champions for years because they couldn't get over the hump to win it all on multiple tries. Then they promoted Roger and went to 4 more Super Bowls and won 2. Craig Morton and Don Meredith were fine QBs but they couldn't get the team there like Roger could. This is what I'm talking about. I can't prove it by stats, but I think it's real. Sure looks real when I see it on the field. Do you think it's real? In my post I said it is and it isn't. I don't think saying let's say Blake Bortles was a better QB in 2017 than Kirk Cousins because he won more games. But some guys can get the team to wins because the whole team believes they can. That's what I meant when I said "it is and it isn't". Go BILLS !! -
People leaving the Patsies** and never doing anything after is very common occurrence. With all the shenanigans they got going on up there with deflated footballs and spy cameras and alleged locker room tampering and Flutie's radio helmet still working after 15 seconds on the play clock and whatever Ernie Adams does, I don't know. Matt Cassel looked like Tom Brady leading the Patises** to a 10-5 record, but he was pedestrian elsewhere. Why is that? coaches leave there frequently and quickly flame out. O'Brien, Mangini, McDaniels, Charlie Weiss You can use them as an example of having a good QB that doesn't need good WRs I guess, but there's a lot more going on there that also helps imho.

Didn't you say if we made the playoffs you would support Hotrod going into next year? Or was that someone else with a Brian Moorman avatar? I have ZERO idea what Fitz would do. I suspect he may have thrown 2 picks in the 4th quarter like he did against us with the playoffs on the line. It's what he does. Do y'all have short memories or something? -

How far is far? They've already made It to the Divisional round. As a Bills fan I'm not going to turn my nose JP at that. Well see what happens Sunday. -
Seahawks fire OC Darrell Bevell & OL coach Tom Cable
reddogblitz replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If punching one of your fellow coaches is part of the process, then I'm in. Seriously, I wouldn't touch this guy with a 99 3/4 inch pole. His units have stunk in Seattle for Years and years. -
Seahawks fire OC Darrell Bevell & OL coach Tom Cable
reddogblitz replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Perhaps. I'm not saying it was the right call, but the execution stunk causing it's demise is all I was saying. Dude sets pick like he supposed to and Seattle now owns 2 Lombardis instead of only 1.Or if Russell doesn't telegraph the play, same thing. I wouldn't worry about this call though if I were Coach McDermott. The guy has done a ton of great stuff for Seattle and Vikings before that. He knows how to adapt his Offense to personnel he has. Seattle is what they are because he encourages Russell to be Russell. If we had Russell on our team this year and tried to pigeon hole him as a pocket passer, I suspect the results would be not so good. Who do you like for OC? -
Seahawks fire OC Darrell Bevell & OL coach Tom Cable
reddogblitz replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The problem here was not the call, but the execution. I saw an interview of Buttler where he said he knew it was gong to be a pass because when the Hawks came out of the huddle Russell looked at and signaled something to one of the WRs over there. If it was a run, why would he do that? Also go look at what the WR that was supposed to set a pick on that play did. He missed letting Buttler get there. Also, the Beast was something like 1 for 8 on 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 that year. Even Schopp knows this. I heard him say it the other day. -

I don't have to decide until March 10th. A lot can happen between now and then. I suspect the OC thing will be straightened out by then. At this very moment, probably. If we dump Hotrod that costs us 8 mil vs cap. See if you can take that other 8 mil and find someone better. Remember, Glennon got 15 mil last year. -

reddogblitz replied to twoandfourteen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If WRs don't matter, only the QB does, why would Bill Bellyache trade a #1 pick for a WR (Brandon Cooks) when he has Tommy? Or, why would the Atlanta Falcons trade uP to take Julio Jones when they have Matt Ryan? This notion is one of the more ridiculous things I read here frequently IMHO. Was it just a fluke that Hotrod's stats are significantly better with Watkins and Woods than with all The other schmucks we trot out there?
